The extra medication was disposed off in the biohazard waste and is not to be given to the patient as the surgery is complete and there is no need for it anymore? It is not the medication that the patient paid us for but the extra monitoring time, precautions and services required during the oral sedation including heart and oxygen level monitoring? Also regarding the pain medication, the patients' mother emailed us the next day (sunday) regarding the issue and the script was called in immediately on sunday (have email documentation) even though it was outside of business hours? Thank you

The crown that he says is still sitting in his office was wrong, when [redacted] removed my temporary crown he broke my tooth further He originally billed my insurance for just a crown, then later changed it to a crown and post fabrication because after it was broken, he recommended that I get a root canal and then he would install a post I scheduled the appointment with his friend DrL [redacted] to get the root canal performed, however the Wednesday prior to the appointment I received a call from one of his office staff telling me that they haven’t received any authorization for payment from my insurance company and that I would need to pay for the treatment when I came in I’m sorry but I didn’t have $to pay out of my pocket because I just had to shell out $for my initial crown service that wasn’t finished, which I told the office staff, I also reiterated that I had insurance policies which are all in my file and that since they all just renewed Jan 1, I shouldn’t owe anything The office staff told me that they were only able to bill insurances and that I would need to see compensation from the 3rd if it went over, but I need to pay it and they would refund once my insurance paid out I again told them that I don’t have the money to put out, so I called a previous endodontist and they told me that they could fit me in the next day, as soon as I got confirmation I called Platinum Dental’s office which was around pm just a few days prior to my appointment which was at pm They informed me that I had a $cancellation fee and I told them send it to me.After canceling I decided to get a second opinion from DrR [redacted] my current general dentist (this was a recommendation from DrM [redacted] office (the Endodontist)), I left the office and went and scheduled an exam with DrR [redacted] which was scheduled for a week later The next morning they called me and said they had a cancellation and if I could come in they would see me DrM [redacted] and DrR [redacted] took photos of what’s left of my tooth and they decided that in order for me to get a crown I needed to see a Periodontist because my tooth fractured below my jaw line and it was suggested that I get an implant since removing part of my jaw bone to get a proper seating could prevent me from having enough bone for an implant later To this date we have never received a copy of a no trespassing order, nor contacted by the police department about my wife going in to his office Services were not rendered, the work was not completed and the current crown he has there waiting for me would not fit prior to going to another dentist I don’t understand where [redacted] could say in one sentence that my tooth was “VERY decayed” but later talk about a “SOUND tooth”, as for my choice for places to get an implant it didn’t cost me anything My current dentist advised me that a periodontist would cost around $2K, and to get an implant would cost me around $3K, I was given the choice and decided to go ahead and get the implant, which has cost my insurances $3K.I have already copied this information to the one insurance company (Metlife) and they have agreed that the services were not completed and that a refund should be issues Our next step is to write to the State of Washington Department of Health and contact an attorney, because this dental treatment does not meet the standard of care for the State of Washington WAC 246-16-810.Thank You, [redacted]

Crown was completed and seated properly as x-rays and progress notes show? Patient has severe bruxism (clenches/grinds teeth) which is what caused the tooth to be broken in the first place and need for a crown? Patient did not return for occlusal nightguard although it was presented, explained and follow up calls were made to have patient return and complete care? Inevitably the crown broke due to the lack of follow up care as was also explained to the patient as the risk of not continuing with nightguard? Patient decided to seek care elsewhere instead of contacting us after the crown broke? The work done was neither faulty or defective? We do not reimburse for work that was done properly but resulted in failure due to patient non-compliance as stated in our company policies? Patient was fully aware of the risks of not following up with care? They are just upset that they have to pay for it again?

The services were rendered and crown was fabricated and still sitting in our office still waiting to be placed in the patient's mouth (we have charted documents and lab invoices to prove this) The tooth was VERY decayed so additional services and costs (root canal/post buildup) would be
needed to properly complete the procedure The patient was FULLY aware of this but chose not to return for the root canal even though he had scheduled it with us he cancelled inside of our hour no show policy (we have supporting documents that patient signed regarding the awareness of this no show policy which can be furnished if needed) Patient instead chose to seek care elsewhere even though crown was already prepped and fabricated at our time/material and laboratory expense
The patient's NEW dentist decided to extract a FULLY SALVAGEABLE tooth to place an implant which is about times the cost of a crown procedure possibly seeking to make additional profit from the patient Patient's wife had given us a poor Google review based on this misunderstanding Patient's wife came into our office yelling at our staff and causing a SEVERE disturbance stating she would not leave until she had a FULL refund shouting and making threats We kindly asked her to remove her review in exchange for a refund (although services WERE rendered and no refund is actually due we wanted to diffuse the issue at hand as well as offer a compromise so everyone wins) however she refused as well and became very agitated We had to call the police and a no trespassing order has been placed against *** ***
There is no reason for us to refund the patient Services were rendered and expenses were incurred Patient chose to seek treatment elsewhere instead of returning for his crown mid treatment We should NOT be held liable for this decision Second dentist extracted a SOUND tooth to place a $IMPLANT We could have easily done the same thing (our staff oral surgeon has placed over three thousand implants in his career to date) however we have ethical code and values to adhere to
We ask that this complaint be closed and no refund will be issued Thank you
