Review: We hired Platinum Limousine to drive us from [redacted], MD to [redacted] Outdoors in [redacted], VA on July 19, 2014 to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Our driver, Ben, was 35 minutes late to pick us up and then had no idea how to get to the [redacted] metro which was where we were picking up the last of our group. I had to sit up front and direct him. He was a terrible driver and the whole time I had to hold on to the wall of the bus so I didn’t fall out of my seat. We had 24 people in our party. We arrived at [redacted] Outdoors late and had two extra tickets for tubing and told our driver he was welcome to have a ticket to come down the 4 hour float on the river. Before we got onto the river I told Ben not to drink any of our beer since he was our designated driver but he was welcome to food and water. During the first hour on the river I noticed Ben drinking one of our beers. Someone from our group said something to him and told him not to drink anymore because he is our designated driver and having a safe ride was the entire point of paying $844 for a bus. We still had about two and a half hours left to float down the river at this point. When we got back to [redacted] Outdoors we had to walk up a big hill with our tubes. An officer on duty at [redacted] Outdoors apparently noticed Ben walking like he was drunk and knew he was our driver. The on-duty police officers gave Ben a Breathalyzer and he blew a .11 which meant he was legally intoxicated. It made us think that he must have been intoxicated before he even picked us up. The owner of [redacted] Outdoors took his keys and the police told him if he tried to drive they would immediately give him a DUI. I immediately called Platinum Limousine to alert them of the situation, and after I did, I was put on hold and told I would be called back. I had no cell service so I gave them [redacted] Outdoors phone number to call us on. I waited about 30 minutes and called again and again to no answer and left several voicemails. Meanwhile, Ben was being completely unprofessional and defensive. He called some of the girls in our party "[redacted]" and stated that we "told on him". He threatened physical violence multiple times against multiple people in our party. We asked Ben to call his boss, Melvin, so I could discuss getting us a new driver home and our money back. At that point he threw his phone at our friend (which we have on video). I called Melvin and when I asked about a refund I was told "We will discuss it later" and I said, "No, we will discuss it now" and then I was hung up on. I called back several times and was continuously hung up on. Finally, after about 2 hours, Platinum Limousine said a new driver was on their way and would be there in an hour and a half. There was no apology and no discussion of any type of refund. This bus ride not only put our lives in danger but ruined our plans for the evening. When the new driver arrived she gave Ben (who a few hours earlier was given a Breathalyzer test by the police and deemed legally intoxicated) the black car she had been driving and took us home on the bus. At 1:40 am on Sunday July 20 I received a phone call and voicemail from Melvin’s cell phone number. The voicemail sounds like a party going on in the background and I don’t know if it was an accident or on purpose. Either way it just gives more clarity to the unprofessionalism of this entire experience. I called Platinum Limousine at 5:00pm on July 20 and left a message for a call back regarding our terrible trip and asked to discuss a refund. Ben called me to discuss the refund which did not seem appropriate. He offered to give half of the trip back and when I demanded a full refund his response was "Why? Why do you think you deserve that?". I told him I wanted our money back because he was legally intoxicated, threatened multiple people in our party and they couldn’t deliver the service we paid for. They ruined our friend’s birthday and the plans we had for that evening on top of being unprofessional and putting our lives in danger. I asked that someone call me back before 9pm on July 20 with a decision or I would be contacting a lawyer for the dangerous and unprofessional situation he put 24 people in. My call was never returned.Desired Settlement: I also want this company to be held accountible for what they did so that no one else is put in this dangerous situation.

Review: What ruined the wedding day? The driver [redacted]. She got lost on her second trip to the church with the groom and all the men in the wedding. Yes, she had just been there with the bride and bridesmaids. She got so lost the groom was late and the wedding started a half hour late. You can only imagine what that does to an already nervous bride and groom.

The last straw was when the wedding party was loading up to go to the reception. Not only did the driver not stand by the door, helping people in and closing the door as you might expect a limo driver to do. She instead, jumped in the driver's seat, and took off with 4 people still waiting to get in. The knocked one parent down and a bridesmaid too. Still didn't get out to see if everyone was okay. Just took off again once the last person in had closed the door. Her reply to the people in the limo? "I said I was sorry, what else do you want me to do?"

So, I reported these events to the company. I again spoke to [redacted]. She was horrified to hear these things. She reported them to the owner and told me he would be giving me a call. Still waiting for my call one week later. And to top it off, he charged me for an extra hour for going over the 4 hour time limit by 30 minutes. The exact amount of minutes our wedding was late starting because the driver got lost. Isn't it possible the driver caused us to run over the carefully timed event? Guess the owner didn't see it that way but I sure do.Desired Settlement: I want the additional charge refunded since the driver caused us to run over our time by getting lost. I would also like a partial refund of the rental fee because of the poor service, the late arrival to the wedding and the injured wedding party members.
