Review: On approximately February 22, 2013, I contacted Platimum Maids and hired them to perform a move-in/move-out cleaning on my home in [redacted]. During this initial conversaton, I made it very clear that the home would need a good amount of deep-cleaning, as the occupants had not kept the place very clean. I further instructed them to contact me if they needed to spend more than 4 hours cleaning the home, and I would authorize charges by phone. On February 26, our one cleaner spent approximately 4 hours at our house. When we returned home the next day, we found many instances of areas that had not been clean. Floors had not been touched, let along washed as outlined by the Platinum Maid website. There was dust everywhere. The showers were dirty. The toilets were not cleaned (apparently our cleaner did not bring a toilet brush). At least one carpet was not vacuumed. Two days after the cleaning, I received an e-mail from Platinum Maids asking about their service. I respnded via e-mail that the work was not satisfactory. I followed up the next day with a phone call, and was informed that, becuase I did not complain within 24 hours, I would need to a manager. Having heard nothing back, I sent another e-mail today (Monday, March 4) and did receive a note back, telling me again that because I did not complain within 24 hours, there would be no re-cleaning, but perhaps I'd like to hire them to come back on a more frequent basis. In the meantime, my wife and I have been scrubbing and cleaning the house, doing the job that we paid Platinum Maid to do.Desired Settlement: I understand that Platinum Maid does not have a refund policy, so I am not requesting a refund or price adjustment. I would like one complimentary cleaning of my apartment to make up for the fact that I paid for a cleaning and yet my house was not cleaned.

I am rejecting this response because:

It was not possible for me to inspect the work within 24 hours, because I was not home.

The bottom line is that Platinum Maids was hired to perform a service, and they did not do so. Floors were filthy, carpets were not vacuumed, nothing had been dusted. I paid for a service, and that service was not completed. I would be happy to provide photos to show the lack of work done in my house.

You will note that Platinum Maids is not even claiming that they cleaned my house. They are simply hiding behind their deadline. That should make it pretty clear that they know the service they provided was unacceptable. They aren't defending their service or their work product.

Again, I paid $190, and did not receive the services that are advertised on the Platinum Maids website. The company took my money, left my house dirty, and is hiding behind a "24 hour deadline" to avoid doing the work that it was hired to do.
