We were contacted*** regarding his *** Wine Unit not cooling well on May 14, Our information was given to him by *** as we are a factory authorized servicer for his area.*** *** complaint was that he would have
his unit set at degrees and that the unit would not cool below degreesWe explained to *** what our rates where for our diagnostic and scheduled him for serviceThe technician examined the unit tested the thermistors and It was determined that the unit needed a sealed system repairThe technician called the *** tech line as is the standard from*** *** homeThe tech line had our technician test the thermistors again which tested in working conditionIt was then determined by the tech line and our technician that the unit needed a sealed system repair*** was given our diagnosis and charged only for our diagnosisThen next day an estimate was given for a total sealed system repair which included the evaporator, filter dryer, Freon, and welding supplies also, including labor rates for 2-menThe quote reflects 2-men working for a minimum or hoursUp front pricing and detailed instruction of repair protocol was explained to *** before he was scheduled for service

Platinum mechanical incorrectly tried to have me do what has proven to be an unnecessary and expensive repairAfter their estimate I called ***, the manufacturer, and gave them the same problem as was given Platinum, ie the set temp was but the ambient temp only went to However the machine went on and off as per operation
The *** tech over the phone advised me to lower the temp overnight and then raise it to a level near what I wantedI did this in early May(almost two months ago
The wine cooler has had a set temp of degrees and has maintained a constant temp of degrees(plus or minus one degree)There is no evidence of any malfunction and the wine cooler is operating within 2-degrees of the set temperature which according to *** is proper functionPrecision misdiagnosed the case and tried to sell an expensive and unnecessary repair

In response to *** 07-02-rebuttal we did not try to get him to do any repair, all we did was provide him with the estimate that he requested*** was informed of our diagnostic pricing and agreed to the terms before he scheduled the appointmentWe still stand by our initial estimateWe are factory trained and authorized by ***The unit clearly has a slow Freon leak because the unit does not have a full frost patternThe *** phone agent made their recommendation solely on information provided by the customer over the phoneTherefore, the accuracy of their diagnosis is only as good as the information received from the customer and is not based on any hands on diagnostic performed by an authorized technician
