Very pleased with Platinum Roofing. Worked closely with Evan and was kept up to date during the entire process. Would recommend to friends and family as well as consider for future roofing needs.

Had the worst experience ever with this company. They gave me a quote and said they would put the new roof on for a certain price. Wrote a contract for me to sign and then all of a sudden they wanted to add $1450 to the total. So I'm expecting the new roof put on in a few days and then all of a sudden they raise the price. That's not the way to treat customers. They had just put a new roof on another house for me a week ago plus I got them a couple more jobs and then to be treated this way. Unbelievable. Stay as far away from this company as you can. As far as I can tell they will just try to give you a price and then change it at the last moment to try to get you to pay more. You would think the owner of the company might try to talk to me and make things right but apparently he doesn't care about his customers. If you want to do business with a reputable company that is honest and will do what they say, stay away from this company and go somewhere else. There are plenty of honest people out there, this is not one of them.

Will Criswell, agent from Platinum Toofing got my roof replaced immediately because were in process of selling home and upon inspection from buyer found had hail damage. He was amazing under the circumstances. Insurance company approved after inspection. Roof was finished in one day. Since don't live at house at this time Will sent me pictures and called and texted me to always keep me updated. Couldn't be happier. Great company!

I highly recommend Platinum Roofing. I needed a new roof, some replacement siding, new gutters/downspouts. I filed a claim with my insurance company and Platinum Roofing, specifically Will Hislope, was there to help with the whole process from start to finish. They stayed in contact with me, calling and texting, to set up work times. Nick and Evan came by and were very professional in their assessment of what I needed to have done. My roof looks wonderful, as well as the rest of the work. Their working crew were courteous and efficient. These are the people to contact for a new roof.

Done a great job for us. Very professional to deal with.

Thank you, Chris. We are happy to hear your kind words and thank you for your business.

After almost a year under contract with no work being done I fired them and asked for refund of all my money, over $18,300 they refuse to return it.
I first signed a contract with Platinum Roofing in August Of 2018. After almost a year nothing has been done to my roof or house. I fired them and asked for a refund early March 2019. Since then they have avoided all my texts and phone calls and have still not refunded my money back, which was over $18300. Since March I have done a little research and found that there are numerous other customers with the same complaint against Platinum Roofing.

Desired Outcome

I just want all my money back $18,399.59.

Platinum Roofing & Renovation Response • Aug 06, 2019

Regarding the complaint filed by *** against Platinum Roofing LLC. with the Revdex.com. Ms. did not fire Platinum Roofing in early March, in fact she was an employee with Platinum during this time period as was her significant other Mr. ***. Both individuals expressed that it was not a rush to complete the work at her home and that we would do it during a less busy season. There is no record of complaints about a timeline or her asking to us expedite the work. When it became a hinderance to productivity and quality of work Platinum Roofing had no choice but to separate *** and *** not allowing them to be on the same work site because of the domestic bickering and commotion between the two. *** decided not to work with Platinum anymore and *** soon after, quit as well.
It was not until these events took place that *** stated that she wanted *** to do the work himself and that she wanted to cancel her contract with Platinum Roofing. It is her right to choose which contractor she selects, and we are happy to oblige her wishes and return the monies already received in the proper legal fashion. The full amount received however, is not the amount owed, as I have already explained to Ms. due to administrative and project management fees associated with her insurance claim.
These fees cover but are not limited to the following:
1.) Supplemental money paid by insurance due to Platinum Roofing bringing to light items that were not accounted for or unseen during insurance adjuster's initial inspection. This additional money totaled over $3,000 and required and insurance supplement specialist and insurance specific computer software.
2.) Administrative work done on behalf of Ms. with her mortgage company to have the insurance check released. This work was incurred due the insurance policy and mortgage lender agreement that Ms. has. The amount of the check reached a set limit under her policies that required her to have a licensed and insured contractor send in documents to the mortgage company, which include contractor's waiver of lien, signed contract between contractor and home owner, W-9, and Worker's Comp and General Liability insurance with the mortgage company list as the certificate holder.
Platinum Roofing has talked to Ms. and the mortgage company about these issues and the mortgage company agreed that is was fully within our rights to charge these fees before returning the remaining balance to the mortgage company. Ms. is attempting to have her significant other do the work and not have to carry all the qualifying overhead of a reputable contractor thus attempting to implicate Platinum Roofing in insurance fraud. Also, this is money that Platinum Roofing now has tax liability for and will receive a 1099 for. Platinum Roofing will be returning the remaining balance to the mortgage company when that final dollar amount is calculated.
The delay on the payment to mortgage company is a direct result of the actions taken by Ms.. Platinum Roofing was contacted by Kentucky State Police stating that Ms. had filed complaint against them with the prosecuting attorney in Owingsville. Now, any legal fees regarding the case, pending verdict, will have to be subtracted from the remaining balance. This is an addition to any countersuit action Platinum Roofing and its legal team deem necessary to combat any defamation, slander, libel, or any other malicious actions taken by Ms. against Platinum Roofing.
Platinum Roofing is committed to resolving all disputes and complaints that arise from our many customers and realizes that not all situations can easily be rectified. We however will go to whatever lengths necessary to maintain our respect, trust and integrity that we have spent years working to build and maintain. This dispute will be resolved as soon as all legal disputes are resolved so that we can pay Ms. mortgage company back remaining balance.

Respectfully,

*** OHST, CHST
President

Customer Response • Aug 07, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept the response from Platinum roofing because it is filled with lies.
Lie #1- I hired Platinum on August 21st of 2018 with a written agreement through ***. Since that date I have numerous text messages between myself and *** stating the urgency of getting things repaired at my home. He agreed to temporary my roof and never did. I have never once stated that there was no rush in fixing my house. I personally asked *** numerous times on when they would be starting on my house. He would state that I was next then do another contract instead. this happened over and over. When I would get frustrated and mad about it and threaten to fire Platinum *** would assure me that *** would do the right thing. That never happened.
Lie #2- I started working part time for Platinum in March 2019 just keeping job sites clean and picked up. From day one we have every time sheet recorded for everyday I worked there and not one time did *** ever try to seperate us. We always rode to the worksite and back home together. The only time we ever had any bickering on the job it was because I would be mad about starting yet another job ahead of my own house. I would go to *** for explanations on why we were not starting my house instead just like many other customers would. *** was the only reason I didn't fire Platinum months before I finally did.
Lie #3- I never once stated that I wanted *** to repair my house. I Fired Platinum on May 31st of 2019 because I was tired of being put off over and over while they put everyone else's contract ahead of mine. They took advantage of my relationship with *** and thought they could just continue to pacify me with lies. I just got plain sick of waiting.
Lie #4- The amount owed is the full amount of $18,399.59. No where in our contract does it say anything about administrative fees charged.
Lie #5- The supplemental insurance check was not for $3000 it was for $1,345.03. Any contractor would have requested that. He is not entitled to that money either since none of the work was performed.
Lie #6- Because of *** inability to do his job I had to request the correct information and have *** email me the correct paperwork and then send it to the mortgage company myself to insure that it was done correctly. Only then was a check issued from the mortgage company. I have emails between my self and *** to prove this. So I don't know why he would think he had done any administrative work at all since I had to do it myself.
Lie #7- While talking on a threeway conversation with *** and the Mortgage company the mortgage company stated that thier contract was a legal and binding contract and nowhere on the contract did it state that there would be any administrative fees. That call was recorded by the mortgage company.
How could there be any defimation of character or slander in this case when it is clear that Platinum is just trying to take what is not thiers. I am not the only customer who has had dificulty getting money back from Platinum. *** filed a compalint with the Revdex.com also for platinum not refunding her deposit of over $5600.*** also contacted the county attorney and state ploice in Richmond. Only last week did she recieve her money back in full " without administartive fees", only because her credit card company drafted the money back from Platinums bank account.
*** and *** filed a complaint with the Revdex.com after Platinum removed the metal crew from ***'s roof and placed them on another job and left ***'s house with a patially finished roof leaking and was avoiding all contact from ***. *** ended up having to fire Platinum after weeks with no response. And Platinum wants to talk about themselves as respectable trustworthy company?
Its not defimation of character when its true and I have proof of everything.

Paid deposit to Platinum Roofing company on Feb 5th. Failed to follow through with the job. Still haven't seen the refund requested.
Contacted Platinum Roofing for a quote on our roof in November of 2018. They sent a quote over for both shingles and metal. Paid a deposit of $5600 via credit card end of January. Charge hit my credit card Feb 5th. I then received a call March 6th, saying that they quoted me for a standard button down and not standing seam. I asked for an updated quote through numerous calls and text and was told by text that I would receive it. Never did. I called *** the owner and asked for an updated quote. He quoted me over the phone but I still could not get an updated quote in writing. Come April, I'm stilling asking for someone to work with us for a new quote. By May no one would return my calls or texts. My husband stopped in to the company building May 31st to talk to someone in person. He talked to ***, who couldn't give him any information as to the status of our roof job being taken on. My husband asked in person for an updated quote and status. We got no calls back. Meanwhile, no one will return my calls or pick up when I call from my number. My husband called June 7th from a different number and was told the guy that would do our metal roof had left the company and they couldn't do our roof any longer. We asked about instead doing a standard button down and *** told my husband it would be 6 months to a year because they had bigger jobs in line. My husband reminded him we put a deposit down Feb 5th. *** told my husband "yeah, there was some confusion about that". (I'm not sure what is confusing about having our money. ) My husband asked for a refund, which *** said he would do. My husband called back on June 14th and *** told him he put the refund in on June 7th. We called the credit card company and they said no refund was processed. I don't know how the company has a good Revdex.com rating based on our experience with failure to answer phone calls or call a customer back, promises but no follow through, lies and poor treatment of customers. If you are looking for a roof...beware this is not the company to do this with.

Desired Outcome

Full refund of deposit and finance charge.

Platinum Roofing & Renovation Response • Jun 27, 2019

The company indicated that it is providing the customer with a full refund.

Highly recommend Platinum Roofing. They respond to calls and/or texts immediately. I had some shingles to blow off of my roof and they showed up same day I called. They done a temporary fix to roof so there would be no leaks until the entire roof could be replaced. When new roof was installed, it was done promptly and professionally. Their crew cleaned up everything and left property as it was when they started the job. Would highly recommend this company.

Non payment of $250.00 Cabellas Gift Card written in contract.
In November 2018 I contracted with Platinum Roofing to install a new roof COC claim # XXXXXXXX which they did and no complaints there. My complaint is a 250 dollar Cabella Gift Card was to be issued to me because of purchasing CertainTeed roof shingles. To this date and after numerous emails to Owner *** I still have not received the gift card. I contacted Certain Teed Company and the representative stated he knew nothing about this. Mr. last email dated March 4, 2019 he stated "I will get it to you if I have to buy it myself!" Currently I haven't received and it's going into May 2019. If he doesn't do at he stated I'm going to file with small claims court in Richmond. I would rather not go that route and hope we can settle this out of court. I'm asking Platinum Roofing to honor the contract we agreed upon. I have sine moved and request any correspondence be mailed to me at *** XXXXX. Thank you for your time. -

Desired Outcome

$250.00 Cabella Gift Card

Platinum Roofing & Renovation Response • May 24, 2019

The company indicated that it purchased the gift card and are mailing it out to the customer today.

The business put on a roof for the consumer in Oct 2017. The business was supposed to address any issues with leaks due to the roof or dip edges. The consumer has reported leaks to the business, and the issue remains.

See the attached for full details.

Desired Outcome

The consumer wants the issues with the roof and/or drip edges to be corrected.

Platinum Roofing & Renovation Response • May 03, 2019

We installed this roof for the homeowner in October of 2018. Before the job ever started, it was noted that she had water running down past her gutters and onto the ground. Our contract clearly stated we were going to replace the roof and everything associated with it. I explained to the homeowner, if the water running over the gutters wasn't fixed by the new roof, that is was not a roofing issue. We sent two different people to her house, including a gutter expert, who recommended installing new downspouts and wider gutters to allow the water to flow more freely. The job was scheduled, and the morning of the job, she decided not to do it. I spoke to her approximately three weeks ago and she told me someone had cleaned out her gutters and that fixed the problem, as far as she could tell. The homeowner's water issue was not a roofing issue nor was it a result of anything we did by installing a new roof. We are actively attempting to resolve this matter.

Customer Response • May 17, 2019

Please allow to me correct what I see as several untrue statements in Platinum Roofing's response.
1. Before new roof, had water from rain running between gutter and house in back only, no problem in front. They said they would fix that by extending the length of the roof over the gutter.
2. The gutter company said the gutters were fine, did not need new ones and the est. does not state gutters either. They though now more downspouts would help.
3. The gutter work date was scheduled to be Thur 1 Nov 2018 at 8am by the gutter company. Earlier by a few days, the gutter company called me to change the date to Wednesday 31 Oct 18 since rain was possible 1 Nov. I could not was working that day. I did not cancel. Since then they (gutter co.) never rescheduled or answered or returned my many calls to reschedule. In late Dec, I spoke with Platinum hoping they would still do something (ie: the other person they sent said he found problems in the drip edge) was told this person is no longer with them. Platinum called the gutter co. for me, found out contact was on vacation and they would call after X-mas break. Never did. Platinum wanted to be a go-between, but I said since they weren't paying, I did not want a go-between, but still wanted Platinum to address the major run of rainwater over the gutter in the front which was since new roof.

4. On 14 May, when I had gutters cleaned 3rd time, since new roof, told Platinum but did not even hint that I thought problem solved. Since then it has not rained hard in daylight while I was home. One night it did, but I found it impossible to assess by looking up in the dark pouring rain with flashlight!

Is the over shot roof edged over the gutter the problem? Are there areas with the overlays roof edge also helping cause the rainwater run over?
Is it usual that gutters are not part of roofing?
Who else should I be calling?

Excellent company! They go above and beyond to help their customers. I'm very pleased with my new roof, and would highly recommend this company.
