In response to the complaint:

We have been made aware of the issue by this customer. At the time of service, our service technician did in fact show the customer the crack discussed in the system's heat exchanger. Since the complaint was filed, we have discussed the issue with...

our service technician who had also provided us with pictures of the crack in question. We've since contacted the customer and are offering to come out (at no charge) to again show the customer where this crack is and explain why this system is dangerous to use. We've left a message for the customer and would be happy to send the owner or field service manager to the customer's home again as we are certain this system is compromised.

We also tell them in advance what the criteria is so that they can decided whether or not to proceed with the application process. Platos Closet is the worst place to work and shop! The franchisees are rude and have no idea on how to run a business. A select few of the employees are actually nice and helpful. I would NEVER work there, from experience, they hold checks on your last day whether you quit, got fired or put in a 2 week notice. This isn't stated in the employee handbook either. The franchisees pay little and work you way too much. They can never keep an employee there with the way they treat people. This is NOT a gooday business to go to.

In response to the customer complaint we received:

The [redacted] called the customer back the same day that the complaint was filed with the Revdex.com, which was also the same day the customer called to explain her issue. We were able to retrieve one item that...

she purchased, which was the Burberry make up bag. However the Zara belt was not found. We refunded the customer for the belt and also gave her a $20.00 gift card for her inconvenience. Below I have attached the receipt for the gift card. We profusely apologized and the customer said that she felt that our handling of the situation was more than fair. If you have any further questions or would like any further details, please feel free to contact via email at [email protected]

Revdex.com:
Thank you for your follow up on this matter.  I did want to note that I erred in my original complaint by stating that my daughter was told the business would not call when she dropped the clothes off; upon reading my original complaint, she clarified with me that she was not told by the business about this provision until, after not hearing from them, she called the business to ask if they had decided how much to offer for her clothes.  I did not examine the company's website until after we had an issue with the company, so we were unaware of the company's 72-hour rule.
The company representative did send the gift card, letter, and a copy of what my daughter signed in the store.  There is fine print that states it is the customer's responsibility to contact the business within 72 hours.  My daughter said that she had not read the fine print because she was being rushed by the rude clerk, so we emphasized the importance of reading ALL fine print before signing any form of a contract, regardless of the circumstances.  I am still not pleased that a minor was allowed to sign such a contract involving the dollar amount in question (I wasn't aware that this was even legal in our state), then was not given a copy of the contract at the time of signing, which we could have reviewed as parents -- these basic procedures should not only be considered standard "good business practice," they also would have prevented a lot of confusion and consternation on the part of all parties involved.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  The business has performed this action, thus I will consider this complaint resolved.
Thank you again for your assistance.
Regards,

Review: So here goes, I have been shopping with all Platos around [redacted] for at least 8 years, lately I have spent close to $5000. at just the [redacted] store. About a month ago I stopped in [redacted] and bout 5 pairs of shoes. Then went on vacation, when I got back I always show my friend my finds. He works at [redacted], told me 2 pairs were fake. No big deal so I called[redacted] , and they said they couldn't help me, so I tried again, no luck. I called a third time and let Jennifer know that I was going to file a credit card dispute. So I did. After a couple of days she called back and said owner had no problem with exchanging, I said great! So I live 2 hours from[redacted] Store and haven't went up yet. So on this past Friday , I got a Blocked call from the owner of these two stores, I was thinking he was going to call and talk nice and say thanks for your business, but instead he told me I wasnt aloud back in either store. Made me really upset. I feel like if your going to be a business man you shouldn't block your number and also if a mistake is made take care of it. He basically doesnt stand behind his merchandise. I have dozens of friends who I told that Platos is the spot to go for buying and selling. So, I have bought 87 pairs of shoes within the last few months, I have talked with my credit company and they said we can make this into a big dispute, and wouldn't stop there. I'm honestly hurt that he had the nerve to call me to say me these things. Very unprofessional. So couple weeks ago before all this, I called which I thought was your corporate office, I spoke to a really nice lady from[redacted], very nice and helpful. So I told that I was asking politely if there could be something done about the employees writing with permanent marker on the shoes, not anything big, and I also addressed about the fake shoes. She said she would look into it. Her name was Jennifer. So last week I was in[redacted], I was purchasing 5 pairs of shoes and I always ask for a discoutDesired Settlement: I want first an apology from owner in writing, then I also want to be a loud back in stores, I did nothing wrong, besides buying fake shoes and when you wanted to act like a kid and tell me I'm not allowed back in stores, and if I do you'll call the cops! "Now remember, you own a store. So in that case you should back up your merchandise you sell. Mistakes happen, but your ignorance has gotten out of control. Then I want the two pairs exchanged, that's all, now how hard is that to understand?

Review: I am concerned about the privacy of Plato's Closet customers while using the changing rooms. I recently noticed that a large majority of the store's ceiling-installed surveillance cameras are capable of viewing into all of the changing room stalls. I asked an employee if the surveillance cameras could in fact see, and/or record, activity in the closed changing rooms. The employee looked confused, then said no; I reiterated that I wanted to know IF it was possible, regardless if the cameras do or do not record within the confines of the changing rooms. The employee confirmed that yes, it was possible but that the cameras had some sort of "barriers" to block the camera angle. I then asked the employee if their response was what they had been trained to say, and the employee sort of said yes, became visibly uncomfortable, and would not make eye contact with me. I am a frequent Plato's Closet customer and have never had a poor experience while shopping there, but this is something I find necessary to address and confirm for the safety and privacy of myself and all Plato's Closet customers. Thank you.Desired Settlement: To assess and ensure the safety and privacy of all customers. I will not be shopping at Plato's Closet until I know the outcome of this issue.

Business

Response:

In response to the complaint from [redacted], Although our cameras may seem to be close to the dressing room area, the camera is not directed toward the dressing rooms. Our employee's, other than management

would really not know this, and quite honestly, it is a rare occurance that this is questioned. Unfortunately , I feel the employee did not know how to answer the question, so Ms [redacted] may have gotten the impression that

the employee's are trained on how to answer this.

We will, now that we see a customer has a concern regarding this, be sure to educate our employee's on the correct answer to this question.

Our security company, [redacted], did our installation, as well as the monitoring of our system and they are well aware that these cameras may not be directed toward fitting rooms.

lf you or the customer would like to confirm this, you could contact [redacted] @ [redacted], Christiansburg, VA, Ph. [redacted].
