This is in response to a complaint filed against Play Sports Hawaii
The customer was not happy that the team her son was placed on decided to do some fundraising to purchase extra items for the players and she was not happy because
she felt her son should have had more playing timeFor these reasons, she decided to pull her son off the team
She filed a complaint against the coach and we spoke to the coach about thisThis coach has been with us for a few years and we know in fact that he does not coach to just win games and is all about fairness as best he canWe felt that his response was honest and we had never received a complaint about him from any other parentWe just asked that he continue to give all the players equal timeWe are confident that he will continue to do this and we value the time he VOLUNTEERS to help the youth in the community
This parent also was not happy regarding the fundraisingAll the parents were informed that the fundraising was optionalShe did not have to participate if she didn't want to, but she didWho participates willingly and then complains about her own choices? We do not get involved in team fundraising but we do require that any fundraising is OPTIONAL
After this parent pulled her son from the team, we continued on with the seasonAt the end of the season she called Ms*** to complain about not getting her photos and trophy for her sonMs*** apologized and told her that we were not aware her son took photos since they dealt directly with the photographerWe setup the picture taking, but the parents pay the photographers directlyWe don't get involved and we don't receive any moniesWe told her that she should have contacted the photographer regarding her pictures, but we would contact him and have them mail the pictures to her and she was also told that the trophy would be mailedThe pictures she purchased and extras we threw in to the package and the trophy was mailed to her within days of her call
When this customer called Ms*** these are the two items that she was unhappy about...pictures and the trophy which Ms*** immediately told her that it would be taken care ofShe then proceeded to yell at Ms*** saying that we were unorganized and proceeded to berate herShe didn't seem too concerned with a solution
Every staff member at Play Sports Hawaii are volunteers and don't deserved to be spoken to in this very disrespectful mannerWe have over players in the league and we are able to continue growing because we are honest and very organizedAt the end of the season we receive numerous emails from customers on how organized we are and to thank us for a great season and wonderful experience
We have grown this league from teams to over teams presentlyIf we were all that this customer complained about us, there would be no way we would have grown this quickly and Ms*** does the majority of the organizing ,so much of the growth is owed to her organizational skills
In regards to a refundThis customer was told in the beginning that once the season starts and the player participates in games, there are NO REFUNDSThey chose to pull their son out before the end of the seasonIt was their choiceThey did receive everything that the registration fee is used for except for games he missed because they pulled him outThere was nothing left to refund
This is our Refund Policy and it is stated on our Registration Forms and our WebsiteMs*** proceeded to tell her that she would speak to me if there was any way she could get a partial refund in form of a credit that could be used for future seasons and if it was approved, she would be contacted, but I felt that we needed to stick to our policy of No RefundsNothing changed, so she wasn't contacted
Again, we have never had any problems or complaints in the past and we will continue to run this league according to our Policies, in the best interest of the youth and as a true Non-Profit run by hard working volunteers

I want to add that I attempted to contact the president of the organization twice through the phone number listed on their website (1) to question the communication and organization of one of his teams NOT the head coach and (2) the incident that took place with the Secretary/TreasurerBoth attempts on contacting the organization's President I left a voice message for him to return my callHe never returned my call and I never dealt with him directlyI then sent an email to the main organization's email which I received an immediate response by the secretary
I was in hopes of an unbiased and an impartial response by a representative of high ranking of the organization instead the "President" of the organization submitted some untrue and statements and went on to slander my character in the situation(s)The statement made by the President of the organization shows proof of the unprofessionalism that goes on in this organization as he continued to go on and explain lies to then make themselves look good at the endBottom line, my child suffered from this organizations unprofessional leadership and did not gain any education in Sportsmanship and Teamwork through his participation
