Response:I own Players Choice Emporium in [redacted]NJ. My store sells used items. I have clearly posted in my store signs that state: All sales are final, no returns accepted. Customers are allowed to test all items with no time restraints in my store. He purchased an AC adapter for his Laptop....

Returned the next day with the laptop and the ac adapter stating the laptop was not working. After testing the laptop with the adapter we found the laptop had a cracked board where the ac adapter plugs in. therefor the laptop would require expensive repair and was deemed not worth the repair. he asked if he could return the adapter. I showed him the sign by the register stating all sales final no returns. After he explained his financial situation I accepted the ac adapter back as a store credit. At which time he used that credit toward the purchase of a used laptop. After demonstrating to him the speed of the laptop and the password used for security purposes he was delighted. three days later he returned to my store and said the laptop is running slow what's was wrong. as a courtesy I examined the laptop. I explained to him that windows attempted to update his files (which is normal) after an update [redacted] will shut down and restart to complete the updates. When [redacted] attempted to restart he was not there to put the password in to allow it to continue...he had left the computer unsupervised. I explained to him only half the files were downloaded and trying to run on only half the information. which caused many conflicts within [redacted] and causing the computer to run very slow. I explained to him it would cost 79 dollars to reinstall [redacted] and register it with [redacted]. He was in full agreeance the job was completed..he returned to pick up the computer, I reviewed with him the computer...showed him it was running lightning fast, and updated. I also explained to him that when the computer automatically updates he needs to stay with the computer because it will ask him for the password which is 12345. He was pleased with the speed thanked me for my time and paid 79.95 plus tax for the repair. It was paid for with a credit card. The claim that I forged his signature is ludicrous. His son returned a week later approximate age 45 walked up to the counter with the laptop slamming it on the counter...and said" I want a refund on this piece of st. that you sold my father." I explained to his son this is the second time he left the computer to update and never put his password in to start the computer properly after the update. Because of his anger, attitude and foul language I refused to make repairs and asked him to leave my store. At which time he replied "do you think your big enough to make me I'm not leaving anywhere" my reply back was if you don't leave I will call the police...his reply "call the [redacted] police I don't care." I called the police before the police arrived he scurried out the front door and waited in the parking lot...because I had taken down his license plate. after the police arrived they came in to speak with me. I explained to them what happened...they say the no returns return posted in my store, after explaining to them what occurred they walked outside to the fellow and told him get off the property and if he didn't they were going to arrest him. He left...and then notified the Revdex.com with one lie after another.

Review: My Grandfather went into this store looking for a computer charger, to help is daughter get ready for a college course. He paid $45 dollars for the charger. And when he tried the charger at home it over heated and didn't work for the computer. He took it back to the store first thing in the next morning. The man who wouldn't give him a receipt for any of his purchases said he couldn't give him the money back for the charger but made a deal with my grandfather. That for $85 plus the charger returned he get a laptop computer. When he brought the laptob computer home. We found out it had an illegal non registered version of [redacted] operating system on the computer and the computer would not work. Even though the owner of the store said it would work perfectly. He went back to the store and asked for his money back or for the computer to get fixed. The man has never given him any paper work on the computer. And refused to have the computer fixed with legal proper software unless he gave him 60 more dollars. At this point with the computer seemingly fixed he went home. When he tried to turn the computer on. It didn't work. The computer is dead. It is basically a paper weight for $190. His son went to get his money back in exchange for the computer. But the man showed him a receipt with a forged signature that my grandfather never signed saying he only payed 85 dollars all together. My grandfather only wants his money back so he can afford to help is daughter which was his original goal. The man lied to the police which he called when he was asked for a refund. Not only did he forge the signature he also said he exchanged an old computer which never happened. The computer came with stolen software and was sold knowing it wasn't going to work. We just want a refund. and for this not to happen to anyone else.Desired Settlement: My grandfather was ripped off and lied to multiple times and every time the product he was sold didn't work due to the owners short cuts and illegal software. He was made to pay more money to fix issues he didn't cause. All together he paid $190 for a computer that wont even turn on. He is willing to return the computer. He just wants the 190 dollars he spent on a piece of junk.
