ML Caught Fire & Blew Up, We Barely Escaped This!

Had car serviced under "Craig", Service Mgr. Pulled out and put back on lot for "pick-up" after 1 item (battery) replaced. Husband called back, asked if full service care completed 2 times, pulled out 2nd and 3rd time, finally and still without completing, said they completed full service, after simple things like an oil change and air filter were still not done, all requested again. Delivered on flatbed to make sure fully serviced from our garage to Plaza. Driven home. Garaged. Driven to dinner in Chesterfield Valley, caught fire, blew up, we made it out within 4 minutes of 1st of 12 explosions. He (Craig) ran and he hid day of our arrival (9/22/2021) of shell of a truck on flatbed, prescheduled return of vehicle out of respect and protection on integrity to the dealership. Car is on Plaza lot right now, empty shell! No call from General Manager, new Sales Manager (C. Rude, real last name) lied to my husband, cried in my face, hugged me, and never called my husband "right back" as promised, only the MIA Craig who knew exactly what time we were coming with a burned up truck on a flat bed. Craig knew exactly when, told me to bring a burned up truck back to them for a "diagnostic", as they closed by 6pm. We were there just past 5pm. He (Cal) swore he was going to "make this right", be right back in touch! But never did, only Craig! Cal noted he did not know why Craig was even calling my husband before them, when my husband called Cal on his cell to ask why. Service Manager is giving me full attitude. I'm am remaining professional, but we are not okay over this! We are NOT okay! Did not purchase car from Plaza, but Progress Pointe, brand new, only owner. Now Progress Point is Plaza West! Craig notes that he has already notified Mercedes Benz USA, but we will see if he's lied about this too! A bald Caucasian man walked out of the back door of the dealership, looked at what could have killed us, and laughed before walking back into that covered garage! He laughed as I cried! I asked Cal to please get his name! These people came out (workers), then ran away! I have it all videotaped just like they do!

It should be noted that these are all FACTS, and We paid for a full diagnostic with Plaza Creve Coeur Mercedes-Benz service to be sure everything was in certified order! Protect your family, do your research, another family jumped for their life too, cars catching fire sitting on a showroom floor! It is all factual! And more! I thank God we are okay, but the trauma is VERY real! Lots of footage and pictures. This man (Craig) tried to convince me of what I and my husband, both a doctor and an executive, creditable upstanding people with integrity, did not experience for MYSELF/OURSELVES, witnesses and videos! This is when you just shut up! I am NOT okay! Neither is my husband!

To whom it may concern:I am writing in response to [redacted] 's complaint Every car we advertise on any website or eBay has a direct link to the Carfax report We pay Carfax for the link and can be viewed with a click of a button on the our website The buyer came from of the advertisements and we assumed every buyer did their due diligence before they purchase The buyer never asked to see the Carfax otherwise the sales person would have provided it the salesman never said he forgot to show the Carfax The buyer asked how long is the factory warranty was, we provided with that The car shows no sign of any major repair and is in excellent condition with a clean title and factory warrantyAlso the buyer paid less than market value at the time and got a discount from the asking pricePlaza Motors is still willing to take it back on trade for fair trade in value and offer any car at a discounted price the buyer has had the car for over months and has been driving it since There is nothing wrong with the car

I am sorry but the buyer is trying to get us to pay for minor cosmetic scratches on a used black carThey had every opportunity to have the vehicle inspected as it sat at our dealership for over weeks before we got paidIn our ads we ask and urge buyers to have the vehicle inspected before purchasing as they are used carsWhat they are complaining about is truly ridiculous and trying to take advantage of usWe also asked them to bring the car back if they were not happy which they declinedPlaza Motors is not responsible for minor ships or scratches on used carsI am sorry but there is nothing we are willing to do since the buyer is being unreasonableI have attached pictures of the scratches and a ship on the glass that was not in the bill of ladingThis could have happened during transport or since they had the carThank you

I don't want to argue with you a lot! Just want to fixed my car fixed not in my expanses! I never heard anything about an inspection before we bought it, nobody told me about itI attached pictures with all the damagesWe spent $36,plus taxes for this car and was expecting to have it in good conditionIt doesn't have a minor cosmetic scratches, like you saidIt is all overI rejected to ship the vehicle back to you , because you said I need to pay for shipping by my selfWe already spent $for it and dont want to spend double of this as a waisting from our packetI need to fix it and your Diller store has to pay for it, since you haven't done it before you sold the carNothing happened during transportation, this car was with all this damages, when you were selling it!

Plaza Motors has done what the state warranty law required within the time frame and more. The car passed all emission requirement. The buyer complaints were addressed within reasonable time. We do not have a mechanic shop and use a third party mechanic. We are no required by law to give loaners. We do not rent cars either. We have forwarded all the documentation and receipts to prove how we handled the situation. The car does not come with an unlimited mile warranty. The buyer declined to purchase a warranty at the time of sale. I am sorry if the buyer does not see it the same way we do.
