Review: I am writing to lodge a complaint against Plaza Realty & Management (65 Bedford Street, Stamford, CT 06901) and its Vice President [redacted] (203 359-4611, Fax 203 356-9741) for damage to my property one year ago without indemnification. I am requesting that the CT Revdex.com intervene in our dispute and act as a mediator.The dispute involves external doors that protect our Air Conditioning unit. One of the doors blew off during Hurricane Sandy and was reported in writing to Plaza Realty, our condominium property manager. Within a week, two workers managed by Plaza were given access to our unit and tore off the second door by the hinges, pulling out part of the door frame right down to the tar paper. Both workers say the door was removed so crudely because it was their understanding that Plaza was going to replace both damaged doors. [redacted] now says the door was removed for safety reasons, though it is not clear that a door screwed to the wall posed more danger than one lying untethered on an open deck. For seven months, [redacted] promised to repair the doors. Then, last May, in a phone call, [redacted] reneged and said we would be charged $1,500 to $2,000 to replace the doors, accepting no liability for the damage its workers did to one of the doors. The price has since been reduced to $1,100.Desired Settlement: We are seeking half that amount, $550, as compensation from Plaza for the damage committed by its workers to one of the two doors so we can hire a contractor to replace the doors before winter. We have contemporaneous pictures of the damaged doors and a copy of the message on Plazas website scheduling the repairs last November 9th that was never performed.
