Review: To Whom It May Concern;I am sending this letter in order to file a complaint against Plaza Suite Resort Hotel, a timeshare hotel, located at 632 South Peters St. New Orleans, LA. As a property owner with a fee simple interest in Unit No. 316 I am entitled to a weekly visit every year, during unit week 10. My timeshare was purchased in 2003 and is paid for, however, I do have yearly maintenance fees. Of course, these fees increase yearly. I have never been told what I am paying for or what the increase is for. My 2015 dues were due September 2014 and I failed to pay them, an error on my part. When I called the Plaza in March to remind them I was coming, I was informed by Kyndel M[redacted] that I would be unable to use my week since I hadnt paid my maintenance fees. I then apologized, after verifying this, and offered to pay then, I was told my unit had been rented and I was unable to use it on my week. I told them they could apply the rent toward my dues and bill me the remainder if any. In June this year, I received a bill for my 2015 and 2016 maintenance fees. The bill for the 2015 maintenance fees were for balance in full plus a late fee! I called the Plaza and Kyndel denied ever telling me that I couldnt utilize my week or that my week had been rented. I believe now that all the years I was unable to use my unit and asked that it be rented and was told it never rented, I was lied to. I believe not only was it rented but that I was billed for the full maintenance fee. The rent shouldve been credited to my maintenance fees. I am being denied any recourse in which to verify this. I have refused to pay the 2015 maintenance fees until I am provided with documentation that no rental occurred or that the Plaza was indeed empty or not occupied to capacity. Kyndel has threatened me with collection agencies and the destruction of my credit as well as my husbands. My husband is a soldier currently deployed to a war zone and under The Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act the reporting of or any actions concerning a debt, much less a disputed debt, against us cannot be taken. I am sending a copy of this letter to all the major credit bureaus and the Plaza as well. I am requesting that I be provided all documentation concerning maintenance fees and what they were used for each year since 2003, the rental or non-rental of one bedroom units during the weeks in question and that all collection proceedings cease.Desired Settlement: Described in above complaint
