from bank stating this. The release was sent to our office at 2:45 and did not allow enough time for debtor to retrieve vehicle. We do not change our redemption hours and I have no control over when the bank releases the vehicle. Mr [redacted]s may have paid his bank at 2:30, however that is not when we received the release. We cannot release bank held vehicles until we receive proper papers. Even if Mr [redacted] wouldve came to my lot with receipt showing payment made I would not be able to legally release the vehicle until release came from bank.
We charge $25.00 per day and this has been the same fee since 1997 and the industry standard is $40.00 per day. The vehicle was stored here for those days so the fee applies. It is unfortunate that it was over holiday, and weekend but theses are things that are out of my control. Fees need to be consistent for all parties, I cannot waive fees for one but charge others. The issue is that the payment wasn't received early enough for the bank to send release earlier so that customer could have retrieved vehicle prior to closing. These are factors that my company cannot control and although I agree it is inconvenient for Mr [redacted], it wasn't anything that I did to "scam" as he states. Redemption hours for this type of service are strictly enforced for my staffs safety. He even states in his complaint that he was told numerous times redemption for this type of service closes at 3:00.

regular Minnesota state plates- no rental plates. There are no identifying marks on the vehicle stating it is a rental as photos taken during impound will show and no calls were placed advising to allow this vehicle to be parked there with no permit. This property has a guest parking area that could have eliminated the chance for impound to occur. Fees for impound are regulated through the city and he was charged according to those fees. No less- no more.We cannot charge based on how rude people are. His receipt will show the breakdown of all fees. We understand people are upset and consider us rude when we tell them what they do not like to hear. He was extremely vulgar on his first phone call (I, the owner was the one that handled the call) however when he came to the lot he did apologize to my staff for being so rude and that he was just upset.  but regardless it is all the same fee.  I am not issuing any discount or reimbursement. Vehicle was parked in a permit lot with no permit, signs were posted, complaintant states he is aware it is a permit lot and also was cleared by police department. All charges are legal and valid.
