needed. The timing belt however, is recommended at 7 years of age or 105,000 miles. Acura of Pleasanton generated repair order XXXXXX on 5/29/2014 to recondition VIN 19UUA662X8AXXXXXX for retail sale. On line 4 of this repair order, we inspected an oil leak and found it to be coming from the oil pump gasket. We resealed the oil pump gasket. On the same line, we replaced the timing belt because the labor for the oil pump seal overlapped the timing belt labor. Mr. [redacted] purchased this TL from us with a timing belt having been installed during the reconditioning. Therefore, the manufacturer's maintenance requirement for this component was met. Mr. [redacted] was provided a copy of this repair order with his vehicle purchase. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Copies of the maintenance intervals obtained from the Acura website shows maintenance intervals are scheduled at 100,000 miles and the reminder occurs within 95% of scheduled maintenance. which would have occurred at 95,000 miles. Copies of this documentation was emailed to the Revdex.com from the Revdex.com Auto-line case# ACUXXXXXXX. Please review documentation showing copy of reair order, maintenance intervals from website, and all communication to Acura Dealership, Acura Manufacturer, Hendricks Motors. Acura Helpline Representative initially agreed that intervals are at 100,000 miles but recanted after speaking with dealership. Ask Acura of Pleasanton to provide written proof of their claim of intervals at 105,000 miles, as I have proven from my documentation. I find no such statement in my manual, or anywhere else except from statements made by Acura of Pleasanton. Since labor performed on 05/29/2014 included replacement of timing belt to complete repairs would it not have been advantageous for timing belt to actually been replaced instead of putting a worn timing belt that was due to be replaced new (according to Acura of Pleasanton) in the next 8000 miles? If the interval of maintenance is actually 105,000 miles why is it shown as 100,000 miles everywhere else? My statements are based on facts. Acura of Pleasanton is misrepresenting the facts.

Thank you for your reply. To be complete and accurate, your TL has a maintenance minder system which is designed to ask for services at a preprogrammed interval. The "4" code would indicate the need for a timing belt replacement and will come on within 5% of 105,000 miles. When we reconditioned your TL, the car had not yet reached the mileage at which the "4" code would be triggered. However, the manufacturer recommends that the timing belt be replaced at 7 years of age regardless of miles. We replaced it for that reason. I hope this information is helpful.
