Pleasantville Pool Plasterers Reviews (1)

Review: [redacted] remarbolized my pool last week [redacted]. I paid him $7000.00, which he cashed immediately. After he finished remarobolizing the pool, a water company came and loaded 3 truck loads of water into the pool, which cost me $966.65. After the water was loaded into the pool and we turned on the filters, we noticed the waters was going down. We had had a very slow leak prior but this poo was now losing water rapidly. The hose had to be kept on for 6 days but was unable to keep the water level normal, which [redacted] told us we must keep up to keep the new plaster wet. During those 6 days I called his office several times asking for help. I spoke with his daughter in law who called me back a day later and said they were "way too busy to come out" and would not be helping us even though we had just spent $7000 refinishing the pool. I was able to locate another pool professional who dove to the bottom and found that the main drain plugs were never put back in period. These plugs had been in place for years! [redacted] was advised of this at the onset of this project. The plugs that [redacted] crew removed for the prep work were never put back causing a large draining into my basement. Hence, where all the water was going for 6 days. I know have 4 inches of water in my finished basement I called [redacted] 3 times and he denied ever taking the plugs out which he had to do in order to refinish the surface. He tried to pass the blame onto someone else. He refused to give me the name of his insurance company. Now I am stuck with a pool that has minor cracks in it due to loss of water even though I hosed he walls down every hour and a half. I am also stuck with a flooded basement. I must rip out carpet, etc. The check has already cleared my bank.Desired Settlement: I want Pleasantville Pool Plasterers to reimburse for damages done to my basement, for pool water that was wasted and that is sitting in my basement and for the minor cracks that need to be repaired.

To whom it may concern:

This letter is in response to [redacted] complaint. [redacted] plastered [redacted]'s pool on [redacted], 2013. In the weeks before [redacted] plastering the pool she had service from another company empty the pool and acid wash it. When [redacted] first went to look at the job, [redacted] informed him there was a leak in the plumbing{[redacted] is not in the service end of the business}

he is strictly a plasterer. She had called my sons service company on [redacted] 2013 to tell him she had said leak and my son who is a separate entity all together told her he could not take on any new customers at this time. When [redacted] arrived on [redacted] to plaster he asked [redacted] if she got the leak fixed to which she replied no. [redacted] in turn asked "are you sure you still want me to plaster the pool?" to which she replied "yes".

She had 23 days from the time she called my son to the day [redacted] plastered to find another service to fix the leak.

As far as [redacted] removing the plugs from the main drain, he has never had to do so in the 40 plus years he has been plastering, the plugs are below the surface of the pool, no need to remove them for plastering, if the pool was emptying at such speed why then did she not call to report a "flood" until [redacted]. And as far as cashing the check he does the same w all customers. she could have stopped payment if there was a problem. As far as blaming my daughter in law for being as [redacted] put it "way to busy" she is not affiliated w Pleasantville Pool Plasterers. For her to place blame without proof is completely wrong.

Response:

If you have proof that someone was negligent then by all means show us the proof .... You say you have pictures of the plugs outside the pool...might I remind you you had someone there to acid wash the pool before I plastered ...my insurance company investigated and has not contacted me of any wrongdoing....there is NO NEED for me to touch the plugs either! My wife DID call and report the incident what the investigators found was apparently a different story and YOU are the one who's story keeps changing. Saying the DIVER said we left the plugs out is ridiculous ! Was he there when we plastered???? And seriously ? If you saw the plugs outside the pool why did you not have someone put them back in the drain when you were " flooding"? If my insurance co finds we are at fault we will gladly pay up but until investigators find fault it's out of my hands.

I thought this complaint had been closed? Now it is open again, I see. There is nothing else to say but I certainly reject this ridiculous response. It doesn't even make sense.
