Review: On 8/11/14 Plotke Plumbing arrived at my house to install a new water heater, The floor and wood shelf that the water heater stood on were soaked with water. The plumber came in to my garage and replaced the water heater. The problem was, there was a leak in the wall behind the water heater. Since the plumber did not bother to check around the area, if he had he would have noticed the water leaking from the flour boards, he would have found a leak in my pipe. Due to his inadequacy my pipe continued to leak for 4 more days. This cause major damage in my home and garage. I had a drywall contractor tear out a 6 by 6 foot hole in my stairwell. Causing me an additional charge. I feel he should have been more professional and taken the time to check the entire area.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is to have the bill adjusted, I agree to pay for the water heater but not his inadequate work.

According to our records, customer called our office on August

11, 2014 and said that her GE water heater in garage was leaking

at the bottom. We asked for the model and serial number to check to see

if the water heater was under warranty. We checked and found this water

heater to be 8yrs. and not under warranty. We responded by scheduling for same day service

to replace the water heater. We arrived at the house at 12:23 pm,

checked the existing water heater and found water inside the burner

assembly. There was no pan installed and we found the platform wet. We therefore diagnosed that this was a normal water heater

failure. We replaced the 40 gallon natural gas water heater and left

the property at 2:16pm. There was not any indication that there was an

additional leak in the wall NOR did we cause the water damage that was sustained.

Two days later, the customer called at 1:56pm on August 13, 2014 to let us know that the garage

was still wet. We scheduled an appointment for August 14, 2014. We

arrived at 2:05 and checked for a leak in the garage. We cut a hole in

the drywall by the water heater and found a pinhole leak in the copper

pipe-we had to access the pipe at the beginning of the staircase to

repair. We left at 3:15pm.

We called the customer on August 26 and explained that she had two issues.

The water inside the water heater did not come from the leak in the

wall. We would have responded sooner to the additional leak, like the same day or the next day, had we known the garage was still wet.

There was no reason to check for any other leak as it was obvious that the water heater was leaking. We are very sorry this customer is dissatisfied. We have not received payment for the installation of the water heater-$850.00.
