Mrs. [redacted] called me Tues 5/26 to voice her opinion about water leak from 2nd floor waste stack. She explained to me her version and I told her I will talk to the technician on her job when they return at the end of the day and I will call...

here back. After talking with Chad (technician). I called Mrs. [redacted] and explained that the pipe already had to have been compromised from age (approx. 80 yr old cast iron). And certainly by us working on the stack below, a new crack may have been loosened / opened in the wall cavity area. That's B.S. she told me. I further went on to explain that Chad had fully gone over the price to pull and re-set toilet with her before doing anything (because she had already commented that toilet had leaked in the past) and that if there were to be the problem again we would correct it, but we needed to pull the toilet to rule that fixture out or not. She told the technician her son could re-set the toilet, at which point we pulled the toilet and ruled it out as being the cause.
Because Mrs. [redacted] had sated her son could re-set the toilet, we did not charge her anything for this service and did not re-install the toilet. Mr. [redacted] was given a new proposal to repair the pipe in the wall cavity area and she told the technician she would call the following month to schedule when her check came in. All the initial work in basement area was performed 5/18/15. That was the last time we heard from Mrs. [redacted] until 5/26/15 when she called after talking to her friend/neighbor? Who told her we had to have broken the pipe in the wall and were just trying to get more money out of her. Absolutely untrue! I realize not everyone understands old plumbing and when you work in one area there's always the possibility of problems occurring elsewhere on the same plumbing line, however we take all precautions and work in a manner to prevent that. We have been in business 21 years with a stellar rating with the Revdex.com and value ourselves on our quality, honesty and experience. We have never tried to take advantage of anyone and are only there to repair the problem. Mrs. [redacted] stated she was going to have someone open the wall and I asked if I could come inspect piping. She said she would think about it and everything I was telling her was B. S.
I called the following day to inquire about coming to inspect pipe and no one answered phone. I did not leave a message. I do not feel we should have to pay for piping that is obviously deteriorated and I believe when the pipe is exposed the problem will show itself and easily determine this pipe was compromised before we even began our initial repair. All we ask for is pictures or a section of the piping to prove this.. I am sure we can reach an amicable solution. Thank you for your time.

The repairman told me that he broke something from the drain pipe that goes in the basement floor to outside. He said his boss was going to make him pay for it. I told him I was going to try and help him out. So I gave him a check from [redacted] for $20.00, Check [redacted] This check was suppose to help him to repair what he mistakenly broke. But after repairs was done I ended up with that crack in my wall pipe. This was the same pipe he was working on. I also had my house remodeled in 1995. This was new plumbing and wiring. In their previous response it says they take all precautions and work in a manner to prevent accidents like this. If that was true the repairman wouldn't had been hitting the pipe. And he wouldn't had to get the $20.00 from me to fix his mistakes. That's not being professional. I am seeking repayment that I had to pay for to fix the pipe and my wall. I do have pictures I can submit when ready.
