Phoned Plumbing Troopers on Thursday 8-7-20 to have backed-up toilet & backed-up shower drain fixed. They arrived & tech Mike used auger on exterior drain trap. he seemed inexperienced and not congenial.

After he used auger in exterior drain trap he asked for me to flush the toilets (one toilet in my bathroom plus one toilet in the Master bedroom). He said it was fixed & proceeded to leave.

I paid $195 to Mike for the service call (using part cash & part debit card).

Just to check if the situation was indeed fixed, I flushed my toilet again 2 times in a row and flushed the other toilet (in the Master bedroom) 2 times in a row and water and sewage came up in my bathroom's tub drain in addition to water and sewage coming up from the Master bedroom's shower drain. He was about to drive off and was informed of this situation...and *** said that he'd have to go back to the office to get a "smaller" macine/auger. He said he'd return in 1-2 hours. Mike never returned and later realized that he used this as a "ruse" so that he could leave, because he didn't want to deal that the situation was still not resolved. *** even offered to use the auger in the Master bedroom's shower drain since a clog seems to be in the pipe leading from that drain to the exterior trap. He claimed later that he never offered that. He probably figured that he didn't want to get involved with that after
hearing that his lack-luster augering of the exterior drain trap did not resolve the matter.

Later in the day (after *** left - on Friday, August 7, 2020 ) I received a phone call from "***" at Plumbing Troopers (who claimed to be a Project Manager) saying that he would arrive the next day on Saturday, August 8, 2020 to examine the situation. He arrived and in talking with him he told me it would cost $16,000 to dig up & repalce pipes!

He initially said his name was *** at one point & then said his name was ***....so the fact that he was giving me different names (in addition to the exorbinent $16,000 price tag) I KNEW this was a rip-off company!

***, as well as his tech Mike said a video inspection (at over $300) was needed to diagnose the problem. He was asked to auger the Master bedroom shower drain (as his tech *** the day before said he would). He did not want to do that & when he sensed that I was not going to fall for his sales tactic rip-off of having a video ispection done...and also the fact that he already got my $195...he just left....never to be heard from again!

Desired Outcome

I want Plumbing Troopers to FIX the situation!!! THEY HAVE MADE IT WORSE THAN WHEN THEY STARTED!!! Water & sewage is STILL coming up up in my bathroonm & the Master bedroom shower drain!!!

customer received a full refund for snaking even though her sewer line is broken and refuses make repairs needed to stop the line from backing up. We do not offer warranty for drain cleaning but we did snake it three different times between aug 6-12. We charged her $195 on aug 6th line was running when we left. I then went out and gave a full refund plus snaked and ran sewer camera for free. found the line broken under the home this is what is causing the line to back up again and again. offered customer several different options to repair line. Again refused to make repairs. We have pictures and videos proving all findings.

I live in an older built home and plumbing issues have started to come up more than usual. Steven came out and recommended a camera inspection. He discovered that cast iron pipes were causing a lot of issues and prepared a detailed report of his findings with camera footage to support our insurance claim. Thank you Steven and Plumbing Troopers for helping me fix my pipes!

Installed replacement equipment without ensuring proper electrical was in place leaving a fire hazard
The vendor was hired to replace a tankless hot water heater. Upon installation, they confirmed that the existing electrical and set up was sufficient for the replacement they were installing. When I had the home inspected for sale, it was found that the unit they installed was not supported by the existing electrical and needed to be changed out and replaced. Upon calling the company to review, I left multiple messages that went unreturned. When I finally was able to speak to someone, they stated that it was not their responsibility to ensure there was no electrical issues. They installed a water heater that was not compatible with the existing wriring, leaving a fire hazard and did not make an notification to me. When I tried to resolve the issue with the company, the two ladies I spoke to refused to let me speak to the owner or give me information on who I could escalate my concern with.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking repair of the deficient wiring as outlined in the home inspection, or reimbursement for the costs.

Document Attached***
I had to pay $375 to repair the deficient work from this company. The electrician indicated that the way the unit was installed was a fire hazard and could have caused the home to burn down!

Customer Response • Oct 24, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Their assessment is a flat out lie. Their tech removed and added wiring within the breaker box. I watched him do it. He also re-ran wiring in the junction box between the hot water heater and the breaker box. I agree they are not electiricians and should not have performed this work, however, the tech stated it was required for him to complete the job. I requested numerous times to be able to speak to the owner and the rude office manager always refuses. She is rude and unprofessional. The responses make it very clear that she is unable to handle customer complaints and still is not getting the correct people involved to address a customer complaint.

paid $225.00 on Monday gave the tech $20.00 tip to unclog drain, called them back on Friday since we were not home Wed and Thu told me no guarantees. Lady started lecturing me about my son throwing toys down the toilet, my son has autism and I found the lady (manager) telling me to tell my son not to throw toys down the toilet extremely offensive and upsetting. Just rip offs who don't care about the customers. They should just have said we will come back and take care of it, we own this house for 17 years and never needed to call a plumber.

Plumbing Troopers Response • Aug 13, 2018

We were never aggressive to the customer at any point in time nor are we no one here to lecture anyone. The wife was formally informed by the technician the day of the visit that we do not warranty clogs. The technician explained to her the cause of the clog was the toys your kids were throwing down the toilet. When we started to explain this to you over the phone you became overly aggressive and very loud not letting us explain what the technician already told you the day of the visit. The technician was kind enough to fix the leak under your sink at no extra charge. The technicians comment was "no charge but if you would like to tip me that is greatly appreciated". And after all that was said and done the technician went back to clear the clog at no additional charge.
