Review: My husband and I were tenants at [redacted] in [redacted]. I have several complaints with the management of this apartment complex. The first complaint is that we received notification on our door that we were late on our pet rent. We went into office and explained that we didn't owe this complex any money and that we were not late because we paid in full the pet deposit as well as the pet rent for each month both pets would be living there. They figured it out that they credited the money incorrectly and that we didn't owe them money and said it was a "computer glitch". My second complaint is that the elevator in the [redacted] building frequently is out of of order for long periods of time (sometimes weeks) and its inspection sticker is out of date. Most of the time, this is not a big deal for myself and husband, because we are able and willing to use the stairs. However, there are a few tenants that live there that are not able to use the stairs either because they are older or have a bad leg. Upon our move-out, the elevator was not in service and had not been for nearly two weeks. This was extremely problematic when you consider moving heavy furniture up and down stairs. My third complaint is with our refund check. We received notification about some charges that were going to be deducted from our deposit. I called office for some explanation as to why we were being charged. [redacted], after some time and some research, found that my charges were a result of a "computer glitch" and that our refund was supposed to be $850 as opposed to the $595 amount written in letter. She assured me this would be fixed and check would be sent out shortly. Today I received check in mail for $595. I called office to try and resolve this issue once again and the manager was terminated. I was given another number to call so I did but was unable to get a hold of a real person.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that this company keep their elevator inspections within date and keep their elevators in good working order. If they should go down please service on the very next business day. Please be more considerate. Please review records and submit an additional refund check of $255 in timely manner. Please realize that there are two of us on the lease, so it is courteous to write check payable to both of us and not just to one of us. Please keep better and more accurate records.

Response:

Good Morning,

Please see the response to Case #[redacted] below:

Plus Management took over [redacted] on April 1st 2013. This was a very quick transition in which the takeover occurred over a weekend. Unfortunately, this caused accounting inaccuracies in the new system. Since that time, we have rectified the issues with the account and refunded the money the resident was due.

The previous management company did not establish a maintenance contract with an elevator company. These contracts include maintenance, inspections and service. After we took over the property and deducted that this never occurred, we did establish a maintenance contract with an elevator company. Therefore, this issue has been resolved.

As of July 17th, I spoke to the resident personally and resolved all issues.

Sincerely,

Regional Leasing and Support Manager

Review: [redacted] did not refund my Administration fee. Initially I was told that the fee was non-refundable and that I could only get the deposit refunded. After addressing the issue with written proof I was then told I would get a check cut as they stated. After a week of waiting for the check I contacted Plus Management to check on the status of the check and was told that the check wasn't mailed and that it would be mailed that day which was a Monday. I checked back with Plus management and was told that the check wasn't mailed that Monday but was mailed Tuesday morning. I was also told that it should only take a day or two because we were in the same vicinity. Now today is Friday the third mail day and two weeks later from the initial refusal to be refunded. This incident is really upsetting because I feel that I am being fed lies and false hope.Desired Settlement: I would like my $150 immediately.

After checking with the onsite management team, this issue had already been resolved. The prospective tenant’s issue has been remedied and she has received her refund.
