We contacted *** today by telephone*** had two concerns, the first to do with the rental vehicle he required the day his
vehicle was here for the recallWe do have a program through *** and Taylor Ford where we cover a portion of the rental cost leaving only a $** per day charge for our customers*** however will not pay any portion if we can not rent a Ford for our customerHowever, if this happens Taylor Ford pays the entire portion over the $** customer chargeOur service advisor did not know thisOur fault! We are sending the customer a refund for the entire cost of the rental
The second issue was that we were unable to perform the recall on the vehicle as a previous owner had made modifications to the bolts and brackets on the vehicle's frameIt was a five hour job to fix the brackets, welds and boltshours of this we managed to have covered, however we did have to charge the customer the additional two hours labor
This work was required so we could install a new Ford Fuel tank properly and safelyThis was explained in better detail and the customer is now happy

[redacted] vehicle was delivered to our dealership on a flatbed tow truck. We opened a
work order at [redacted]. Our certified technician has been a licensed...

technician for [redacted] and has full knowledge and training using our shop hoists. The technician brought the [redacted] from the parking lot to the service bay and commenced work at[redacted]. He worked on the vehicle until [redacted]. The customers [redacted] remained in the technician's bay all weekend and work commenced again [redacted]. The technician completed the job at [redacted]. He removed the vehicle from the shop and parked it in the customer lot. All work performed on the vehicle was in the
rear. Rear pinion seals and rear drum brake job. All of this was verified from our security cameras. From the security system we also were able to verify the vehicle was placed on the hoist, by the technician, correctly. [redacted] was explained that we verified this by security camera and that we DID NOT lift the [redacted] by the fenders.
Furthermore, when [redacted] claimed we damaged the vehicle the service manager immediately had the vehicle driven onto our lift. We, with the customer present, could clearly see that there were no hoist lift marks anywhere near the fenders. As a matter of fact you could
see where the lift had been placed on the frame of the vehicle, the correct lift points for the [redacted]. The right and left front fenders had dried dirt and normal long term dust/dirt that had
not been disturbed for some time. The service manager showed this to [redacted] and showed him that just a light rub make a very visible mark so this damage had been done prior.
We believe that this damage had been done for some time and no physical paint damage is visible.
As for [redacted] statement that our salesman said the mud looks suspicious and the damage was probably caused by it going up on the hoist is not at all what was said. [redacted] simply stated that "He had no idea where the mud came from but if it came in clean they may
have had to test drive the vehicle. [redacted] also understood that [redacted] thought the service department would have used a jack on the vehicle and [redacted] explained that the
vehicle would have gone on a big hoist but the damage is not where they would have place the hoist lifts.
Furthermore [redacted] told our service manager he saw the technician park the vehicle and look at the damage part. However this is not the case as the technician had parked the vehicle the previous day before [redacted] arrived.
We are totally confident that we did not cause, and therefore are not responsible for. the damage to [redacted].
