Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation Reviews (25)

We take great pride in our employees who work hard to provide the best service in the auto insurance business. We reviewed our policyholder’s file.  Because she chose not to buy Substitute Transportation coverage from us, there is no rental reimbursement available under her Plymouth Rock...

policy.  However, we believe the other party was at-fault for the accident and, therefore, the other party’s insurer should reimburse our policyholder for reasonable rental expenses.  Although our representative might have told the policyholder that the other insurer should reimburse her for her rental expenses, there is nothing in our file indicating that we assured her the other insurer would, in fact, reimburse her. We have no control over how the other insurance company handles her rental reimbursement claim.  We are advocating on the policyholder’s behalf and requesting the other insurance company to honor her claim.  Thank you for the opportunity to respond.

I am writing in response to follow-up Revdex.com complaint number [redacted] received on December 7, 2015. The prior response provided was a simple overview of the claim. A representative of the company has spoken with the claimant and they consider the matter closed.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #[redacted]. I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted].  I will be definitely going forward with complaint with the Division of Insurance. Since I couldn't get a detailed answer for the rate hike (what documented grounds it was based on), I guess the Division of Insurance will probably have that information provided by Plymouth Rock. But, I am also still going forward with the Revdex.com. One of the reasons I am also doing this is to warn other consumers in similar situations, so they can better protect themselves, and avoid being treated unfairly by the auto insurance business. And the most important thing: Their claim that the adjustment was not retroactive is outrageous. My annual original policy was issued in April 2016, the adjustment was made in the end of November 2016, and the hike ended up being retroactive - it didn't just cover end of November 2016 till the end of the policy, April 26, 2017. The ultimate grounds on which they based the 26% hike wouldn't and couldn't apply before November 29, 2016. I have all the paperwork that documents the retroactive hike.

I am writing on behalf of Plymouth Rock Assurance in response to complaint # [redacted].  I apologize for the delayed response to the Revdex.com.  Plymouth Rock Assurance is an auto insurance company.  The complainant stated that he was in an auto accident involving his...

vehicle and a vehicle owned by our policyholder.  The loss reportedly occurred on October 10, 2016.  It was reported to Plymouth Rock on October 11, 2016 by the complainant.  Our policyholder was not the driver of our insured vehicle at the time of the accident and did not report the loss to us.  Our claim representative has made numerous attempts to contact our policyholder and the driver.  We have an obligation to all parties involved to conduct a fair and reasonable investigation into the facts of the loss.  That requires that we speak with the policyholder and the driver.  In the meantime we have communicated with the complainant regularly and agreed to reimburse him for reasonable vehicle rental charges despite the lack of cooperation from our policyholder and driver.  We understand that the complainant has filed a claim for Collision benefits with his insurer, [redacted], which should allow him to receive some compensation and have his vehicle repaired while we continue our efforts to reach our policyholder and driver.  As you can see, Plymouth Rock has handed this matter fairly and reasonably. Thank you for the opportunity to respond.
