Review: We ([redacted] to FL. in Feb 2014 from [redacted]) We were a long way from a PNC Bank which was the bank we had used for years. Then in a month the PNC Bank moved location to [redacted]. about a hour away & in opposite direction from [redacted]'s work in [redacted]. We are a one car family [redacted] is 75 years old & in serious health receiving treatment for Autoimmune diseases & Heart Coronary Artery Disease, Aorta Aneurysm & Atrilfibulation, A Pacemaker to keep heart from stopping also. She has been harassed & talked down too several times and never listened too once, they keep her upset all the time. We closed this account in August 2015 We sent emails online as this was how we conducted our business with them. We changed the auto deposit of [redacted] Checks to new bank. We had a arrangement to take from deposit of these paychecks to move to savings to keep amount on hand in case of being short before next payday. It was to be $25.00 a mo. & [redacted] was paid every 2 weeks so it was to come out $12.50 each of 2 pay periods. It was volunteer & set up when opened account in [redacted] was listed as Primary because she takes care of bills & payments. Online account was in her name. [redacted] sent a written letter also telling PNC Bank we had closed this account & politely explained why we had to change banks. We started getting in her name charges for $12.50 every 2 weeks then would in these letters say $12.50 was taken from a "Closed Account" & could not be carried out. We have ask why, get the talk around to us. [redacted] has explained over & over this account was closed in beginning of August 2015. Then to compound the problem [redacted] bought a phone case through [redacted] & they took from old PNC BankAccount which has [redacted] Bank as top Primary Bank. At that time he had forgotten to remove the old bank but it was not Primary. He removed it the day we heard from PNC Bank. They ignored when said it should not have been taken from a closed account & that we will pay it just give us address where to send they would not give to us. Instead the added $84.98 today received another bill saying we owe $126.98. they ignore every request to stop that this account is closed. We have been polite we have explained over & over we closed the account & why. We can't get a address where to pay the $6.98 for the phone case & still get nothing but harassment.Desired Settlement: We will pay the mistaken charge of $6.98 & then be left alone by PNC Bank in the future

Review: Last week, I scheduled a check to be sent from my reserve account for $190., and had funds in my account to cover the check (which is separate from my checking account). Sometime in the early morning (before 7am) PNC returned my check and charged me $36.. I noticed that there was no reason why I would have been charged this or why my check would have bounced because I had the funds in my account the night before. I also noticed there was a $76.30 charge that was missing from my account (a purchase I made on 8/7/16). I also noticed that PNC took the liberty to transfer funds back/forth between accounts. This was very confusing, so I called the bank on the afternoon of 8/9/16 and spoke with a very pleasant customer service rep that agreed my check should have cleared and refunded the $36 overdraft charge. She advised me that the check would clear and likely be put through one more time. I left my account alone, and noticed that the $76.30 charge was taken out of my account..was put back through...almost a week later. Which was fine, and it cleared. I still had the funds to cover my check, but while PNC was moving my funds in the middle of the night, something must have happened that caused my account to be overdrawn by 0.21 (21 cents)...PNC returned my check again and again charged me $36 in fees. I am not sure how PNC can take the liberty of overdrawing my account when I do not have overdraft protecting for every day purchases (I opted out). Today, I am missing $190 from my account, have another $36 charge, and will be charged $25 from the bank I sent the check to. So as of this morning, I am out $251 that I would like to have put back in my account. As soon as this is settled, I will be opening an account with another financial institution. I was very pleasant to PNC customer service this morning, and I was hung up on during my 1st call, and on my 2nd call I had to deal with callous woman who put me on hold several times...just to tell me she would not help me. I was on the phone for over 40 minutes this morning.Desired Settlement: I want my $251 back, this is the worst experience I've ever had with a business.

Review: My husband's debit card was fraudulently charged $1200 From a state we have never visited. I was very disappointed that PNC did not decline the charge or detect any type of fraud and contact us. We noticed the charge and contacted PNC, who then told us we have to wait to file a dispute once the charges post. But MY ACCOUNT IS OVERDRAWN!!! Why should I have to wait, the bank did not wait to release my funds to a crook!!! Now I'm stuck with bills scheduled to come out that I will incur late charges on. I have been banking with pnc for about 2 years and have had my card compromised several times. Are they not equipped to handle fraud? Anytime this happened with my previous bank, the fraudulent funds were reversed immediately while the investigation was conducted. These crooks(PNC) are sayin that I have to wait until the end of the investigation to have my funds reversed which can take 10 business days I.e. 2 weeks! I have childcare that I have to pay I have to commute to work, I have groceries to buy!bwhat the hell do they suppose my family do at this point. We were robbed by 2 crooks, the one that used my card fraudulently and PNC! I will encourage friends and family to never do business with this bank. I am disgusted.Desired Settlement: I want my funds that were stolen reversed immediately while the so-called investigation is conducted

Review: I am having a problem with my account which is currently overdrawn. I called to see why because it should not have been that way. I was told that there was a payment made to [redacted] and [redacted] which brought my account down. I explained to the representative that I made a deposit in the amount of 242.00 at 6.50 pm into the account before I made the transaction which put my account into the postitive. My account was in the positive at the end of the banking day. She was unable to reverse the overdraft charge. I am told that the funds have to be in the account before 10pm. I place the money into the account before 10pm and I am still being charged anyway she told me that she could not see the deposit time but I have the receipt. After I told her that I would contact the Revdex.com she told me that she could no longer discuss my account with me that she sent ot over to the escalations department. I would like to have this matter resolved.Desired Settlement: I would like the overdraft charge fee removed. I placed the funds onto the account before the transaction was made.

Review: PNC has advertised that you have until 10pm to correct your account to avoid "Overdraft fees". This is now the 3rd time that PNC has assessed an overdraft fee to my account. PNC reps state that transactions that run throughout the night will be counted towards the previous days transaction. If customers have until 10pm to correct their accounts and at 10pm on any given day the account is in good standing order HOW IS PNC STILL CHARGING OVERDRAFT FEES? This falls under false advertisement because this claim is not true. As a customer I use every tool PNC has with the exception of attaching another account to my PNC account. I have the alerts set to notify me if my accounts goes below $1.00 or a deposit is made over $1.00. In this case along with the other 2 I received alerts from PNC at 3am-5am that my account is overdrawn and have assessed an overdraft fee. Upon checking my account on the previous day at 10pm my account was in good standing with an amount over $1.00. Throughout the night when PNC processes there transactions they throw in this fraudulent overdraft fee of $36. I have been a customer with PNC for almost 12 years but no more.Desired Settlement: Either to discontinue use of the lie that customers have until 10pm to correct there account or accurately stand by that statement.

July 22, 2016Dear Ms. [redacted]PNC Bank, N.A. responded to Ms. [redacted] on July 22, 2016, and considers this matter addressed. Sincerely,Lisa M[redacted]Executive Client Relations

I am EXTREMELY frustrated with PNC bank. As their customer for over 5 years they have done their share of messing up. I am closing my account as soon as this last, HUGE issue is resolved. Every month, like clockwork, I call pnc in stress because something is wrong with my account. Every, single month. Thats absolutely unacceptable. For a year now, I swore up and down Iwill not bank with them anymore, but was too lazy in hopes that hey will fix their mistakes. Well, I should have done it and am stupid that I didnt. Pnc bank lost two checks in the row (eaten by atm), one they could pull out right away because I went in there and the bank was closes. The second, not so lucky. It took them a week give me provisionary credit for that check! As my bills are coming out and my account is getting more and more fees and rendered useless for a whole week!! When that was done, they decided that they would reverse that provisionary credit twice with the second time putting my account into overdraft. Here we are, exactly 10 days later, my account is STILL in overdraft. I have called, gone to the bank. Many calls and escalations later, promises of " everything will be back into your account tomorrow morning!", my account is still in the negative. ARE THEY SERIOUS????????? This is my money!!!!!! They need to return it!!! Im not rich and they just do as they please with my account. They cant even fix their own mistakes. On top of all that, as I have two accounts with pnc, they decided they were going to return my rent check at the same time for "suspicious activity"! Well... I had to pay $40 return check fee! I go to pnc with a letter from my condos and they dont have a system in place to return outside fees, they have to jump hoops to return me that money. They said they will try and the lady will give me these calls with updates at the bank...nothing...havent heard from her since id seen her. Why! Would you return my rent check!!! I pay to t he se people every month! And now I am stuck with a fee and the embarrassment of a return check. Now, none of the MANAGERS have taken any action to resolve the issue in a timely matter. At the bank or over the phone. My whole family is shocked with pnc and you bt we will never bank there and you bet I will tell everyone of my experience. Horrible.

Applied for the account in Jan this year. Asked to close the account last week and specifically asked if there is an early closure fee. They told me no. When I got my confirmation letter about closure, they charged me this account closure fee. I contacted the customer service and said they gave me the wrong information so that's why I made this decision to close the account. They refused to give me back the fee. And I asked them to escalate to their manager who called me today. And the call is completely useless. I would never recommend people to use their service since they trapped you so they can charge any fees. Not a honest financial service and company.

Review: rudest customer service ever im really getting sick of my account overdrafting while I still have a balance u have taking way to many unnessary funds from my account if this don't get resolved I will take this to the government im sick of this bank treating me like im nothing very unhappy with the customer service from this company I will continue to fill complaints and write reviews until my account is refunded for these fund that's should of never been withdrawn I will be sending a letter to the white house as well so I need to be taking serious

Review: It has been over 10 days since I initially contacted PNC Bank about this situation. I have notified them about two transactions one illegal and one fraudulent. I have yet to see any change in my account regarding these transactions. When I tried to close my account due to the obvious compromise of my banking information I was turned away. I have tried to call several times to determine the status of my complaint and no one now answers my phone call.Desired Settlement: I want the money that was stolen out of my account restored, and I need that account closed which they refused to allow me to do.

Review: On Sunday, April 24, I had $80 transferred to my PNC Virtual Wallet account. On Monday, I had $145 deposited to my account. On Monday, April 25th, I had adequate funds. On Tuesday, I awoke to see an email stating that my account was "overdrawn" even though that was false.

PNC decided to claim that 2 checks (one for $15 and one for $30) weren't covered, even though the deposit of $145 was there. Immediately after charging me two overdraft fees ($72), they then included my deposit.

This was intentionally predatory as they could very well see that funds were in the account.

I contacted the local branch and a customer service number, but they refused to refund my account.Desired Settlement: I want the $72 refunded to my account and for their predatory banking practices to cease.

Review: I called pnc telephone support 8/14/16 for an accidental bill pay set up for $470.00 to [redacted] Credit union. I spoke to someone who told me they would freeze my bill pay so no payment will be sent out. This did not happen and my account was overdrawn. I called telephone support 8/15/16 and was told I would have to wait for the bill to post and then dispute it that I may not win, and the credit would not be in my account for up to 10 days. When I asked her to check if bill pay was frozen it was not frozen and my account is overdrawn and I do not have another paycheck until 8/31/16. Now I will be charged up to 11 days of overdraft fees for your companies error. I am livid on the way things were handled and I will be switching banks over this wrong doing. This is absolutely unacceptable. I was lied to and told neither bill would post.Desired Settlement: I need to be credited back for every single overdraft fee that will post to the account. I also will require a formal apology in writing from pnc bank mailed to my home address. On top of that, any fees that will occur from closing the account must be waived. I require to be contacted by telephone not by email.

Review: My account was overdrawn because I showed that I had a positive balance when I did not but my account was suppose to have been set up for my card to be declined if the funds were not available so I was charged the overdraft fee. I then contacted their customer service and spoke with Virginia who was not able to assist me so she put in a complaint and I should have received a call back within 24 hrs and but I did not. And within that 24 hrs I was charged again even though Virginia said that it would be another 4 days before any other charges were made. So I contacted them back and spoke with someone named Steve who was very rude and no help at all either, I then spoke with his manager Kenna who was also no help so her manager Mark gave me a call back and he reviewed the call and says that none of what I said was true so they would not refund my account even though he said that Virginia would be receiving a coaching.Desired Settlement: I would like for the charges to be reversed and my account to be closed.

Review: Hi I went into PNC North Hill branch on June 10, 2015 and was added on my husband account because he's sick alot and I handle bills and etc. I signed papers and PNC rep said my debit card will take 3-5 business days. It's June 24 and I still haven't received my debit card. My husband and I left out of town due to my cousin passing away. I left 200.00 cash with my daughter to deposit into PNC account before we left and asked her to deposit 200.00 thru mac machine once I receive my debit card. Card never came so I asked my daughter to go inside Pnc branch and she did. She provided PNC rep with my social security number and 200.00 and he refused to do deposit. She explained my account has a insurance payment going thru next day. My account bounce the next day. I called PNC and talked to 2 different reps concerning this matter. Rep said lady never ordered my debit card and apologized. My fees were not credited to my account. I was hurt and upset and can't believe they did this. I felt they turned my daughter away to make money on my account.Desired Settlement: 57.00 fee back into my checking account

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I applied for a PNC Bank Secure Card in June 2015. This card required a $500 deposit, which I provided through a withdrawal from my account that can be verified through my online statement. I was eventually turned down for this card, and PNC Bank sent me a cashier's check for the $500 deposit I had originally provided.

I attempted to deposit the check via the PNC Bank mobile deposit feature in June 2016 (within 1 year, as per PNC bank policy). This deposit was rejected, and I was charged a $12 service charge fee for a "return of deposited item." I called the PNC bank help line and spent over 1 hour on the phone with them, trying to get the issue resolved. I was transferred from the initial agent, to a supervising manager, and then to the underwriting department. The underwriting department assured me the check was fine, and told me to write "Not for intended purposes" underneath my endorsement on the check and deposit it with a personal banker at a physical PNC branch location.

I did exactly as instructed at my earliest opportunity, which was in early July 2016. However, within just a few days, the check was rejected, again, and I was charged yet another $12 item return fee. I called the help line for PNC again, and they once again informed me that I needed to go to an actual branch to get the problem remedied. I did just that a few days later, and spent over an hour discussing the problem with a personal banker and the branch manager at the PNC Branch located on [redacted] They attempted to help me, but said that it might take "a little while" till they could get a hold of the appropriate people.

That occurred over a week ago. I have tried calling the branch again and again, and now the manager (Ethan at the [redacted]) told me that he was unable to make any progress on getting me my money back. He states that the issue is that the cashier's check was not dispersed with any funds on it. He said that the check may be fraudulent. Again, this was a check sent to me directly from PNC bank, returning my own funds back to me. I have been blocked at every effort to get this problem remedied. I have been incredibly patient but have run into several people who have simply passed the buck and told me to contact someone else because "they cannot do anything further from their end."

In summary, PNC bank took $500 from my personal checking account for a credit card that I was eventually rejected for. They sent me a $500 cashier's check to return the funds, and it appears that the check has no funds on it at all. They have charged me a $12 fee each time I have tried to deposit this cashier's check unsuccessfully, even though I followed the instructions to the letter. Nobody on the help line or in a physical branch location is able to help me remedy the problem.Desired Settlement: I want the full $500 back that I am owed, as it is my own money. I would also like a refund of the $12 fee that I was charged for attempting to deposit the check.

Review: I had HELOC that was originally with [redacted], then [redacted], then PNC. I was never late in the 10 years I had it. It was approximately $70/month. I would often pay several months at a time. The loan had to be renewed, and a representative called me. He NEVER answered when I returned his calls. Many times he never called back. This occurred in September thru December of 2015.

Ultimately PNC reported that I was 30, 60, 90 days late with the $70 payment. This is the only derogatory mark on my entire credit history. As a result, my credit which has been 860 for years, dropped into the 600's. I am trying to purchase a new office and a beach house. This is having a negative impact, even though my income is over $600K and my net worth is 2.4 million. I finally went into a branch and wrote a check for the entire $26,000 balance.Desired Settlement: I want PNC bank to remove the inaccurate, and negative information from my credit reports. I want them to remove the 30, 60, 90 day late payment from my credit reports.

My only other alternative is to pursue litigation through the [redacted] law firm in [redacted].

Review: Finance charges were applied to my revolving credit acct for the month ending April 2015. Payments on account were made in excess of $1500 of the prior months balance which should have resulted in $0 in interested charges made to the acct. I was told any payments made in March (after the 25th due date) are not applied towards the April balance in regards to finance charges thus allowing PNC collect interest charges on the entire balance. This accounting method is not only incorrect and deceptive to the customer, it is highly unethical in a highly regulated industry.Desired Settlement: Credit back to my PNC credit card account all interest charged in month of April 2016

Review: Upon opening our account with PNC bank in [redacted], VA (we have since moved to North Carolina) we were presented with an offer that stated we would receive $200 account credit from PNC upon meeting the following conditions (we have a screenshot of the promotion available):

1. Open a Virtual Wallet account with Performance Spend

2. Establish Direct deposit(s) of $2000

3. Make at least 10 purchases with PNC Visa card

We meet all of the conditions within a month, but never received a credit. Upon contacting PNC (via chat on June 14th 2016) we were first informed, by a person named "Candace"that "after reviewing our account (...) we did meet the requirements for the promotion" (we have a screenshot of the conversation available).

We were never given the $200 credit after that and in subsequent conversations with PNC bank (last on on July 28th, 2016) we were told we haven't met the conditions of the promotion as we should have set up a bill payment from the account to qualify.

We feel that PNC has been less that forthcoming about the details of this promotion and we are reconsidering doing business with them.Desired Settlement: We would like to receive the $200 that was promised to us upon opening the account.

I have had a PNC account for about 2 years. I would not recommend anyone opening an account with them. I opened it my first year of college, so of course I did not know a lot about banks. However, I have always had issues with them either not following through on what they tell me. As well, as always being low staffed and their ATMs hardly ever work. In order to speak to someone it is an exaggerated wait time. Not to mentioned, they could what feels like never help you. I recommended go to another bank. It doesn’t matter who you speak to somehow you will always end up with an issue. When I first opened the account, I did appreciate their service. Unfortunately, their quality of service has decreased. I am very disappointed with this bank.
