Poblocki Paving Corp. Reviews (7)

I met with Mr. [redacted] Monday evening, August 26th, 2014.  We both agreed that the current crack in his concrete is so fine/small that it doesn't warrant replacement.  Sorry to have made Mr. [redacted] wait so long to resolve this.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: On June 9, 2014 Poblocki Paving laid a concrete driveway at my residence and said they would return to patch adjoining asphalt on June 10 and eliminate the gap betweeen the new concrete and older asphalt and "the retaining wall and steps will be done Wednesday through Friday." We paid the remaining balance of $5369.55 (total cost of the job was $8054.00). On June 17 [redacted] responded to my email regarding a crack in the new pavement by our garage door saying he would have his foreman, [redacted] look at it . On July 7 he emailed me saying his foreman did take a look at it and said we could replace that small section with the crack and it was "under warranty and would be fixed for no charge." They did honor the warranty and complete the repair promptly. On July 25 I contacted [redacted] again when I noticed a jagged 7 foot crack. In response to my e-mail his prompt response was "You know nothing about concrete. My foreman inspected the whole driveway when he was there 2 weeks ago. It's absolutely fine please stop bothering me or we will file a restraining order on you." My wife [redacted] took 11 fotos and sent them [redacted] on July 26 asking him to call her to arrange repair. To date there has been no response.Desired Settlement: I want a replacement of the cracked sections.

THEY DIDN'T FINISH THEIR WORK IN SPITE OF REPEATED REQUESTS TO DO SO.

Poblocki Paving Corporation [redacted]
Dear [redacted]
Last night as I was leaving our church, I noticed the trucks and crew of your company finishing the parking lot of our neighbor Associated Bank. I had noticed them earlier when I was first coming to church. I thought that it must have been a long day for the crew. It was good to see a new business, Associated Bank, open in a previously vacant building. You can imagine my surprise when I also noticed that the small stretch of black top on our property which borders Associated Bank and the shopping center was also newly paved. I immediately stopped to find out who would have been so kind and thoughtful to fix this area for us.
I want you to know that I had the pleasure of meeting your foreman on the job, [redacted]. From the moment I met him I was impressed. You should be thankful that you have such an individual working for you. He was so polite. He had explained that Associated had asked him to fill a small part on our property which was just outside their lot entry. At the end of the evening, however, when the job was done and while he had some leftover asphalt, he had seen the state of disrepair on our small section of pavement and decided to repair that entire section on our property. We at Christ Church, as members of the family of Jesus Christ, are taught to love and serve others. This was Christ's greatest teaching, to love God and to love and serve others. [redacted] kindness and thoughtfulness demonstrated in action how we can love and care for our neighbors. He set an example for each of us on how we should treat one another. I am very thankful to have met him.
Some years ago, we had leased the front section of our property to a small restaurant with a drive up service. At that time there was a parking lot and paved access to this corner of our property. Later, the building became vacant and we felt moved to convert that land into open area for church related activities. After removing the building and most of the asphalt, we almost removed this section as well. We were planning to put some new fencing along this edge of the property. As we were preparing to construct the fencing, we noticed that oftentimes semi-trucks would tum in at this location to access the rear of the shopping center. While there are several other access points to the center, the trucks would sometimes turn here. They would often make wide turns, I am sure out of necessity, to get in at this particular spot, and thereby, cut over onto our property. It occurred to us that shortly after installing our fence it may very well get damaged. We thought we would put the fence back a little so this wouldn't happen. So, the small area of asphait on the northwest corner of our property remained, sadly, in a state of disrepair. We do park vehicles there during events held by our church which take place on Washington Avenue.
You can imagine how blessed we feel that [redacted] was so moved to repair our small patch of asphalt. We are very thankful. I know that your company has contacted us periodically regarding paving or repairs to our parking lots. I hope that you will continue to communicate with us in the future. A company that employs individuals like [redacted] who thinks of his neighbor is a company that we would be happy to consider for our future paving needs.

I have been a customer of Poblocki for many years and never an issue. This year we had our driveway sealed as we have done regularly with them. This year they sealed the driveway and filled cracks with a substance that stayed on top of surface but began to peel. We have a 3 car garage and every time we pulled in the garage or exited it would peel the crack filler more. We called Adam Poblocki and he never returned our call. We finally worked through the receptionist and got someone to look at the driveway. They looked at a full patch that was put in years earlier and had nothing to do with the cracks in the driveway and the filler they used. It took another month to get a response and finally a crew came out to fix the problem. I spoke with the lead man and he said he would not have done it the way it was done. He heated up the filler material and tried to scrape as much off as possible which helped for a while. This was done only by the garage not the entire driveway. We called back and never got a return call. Yesterday it snowed and when I went out to use my snowblower, I kept hitting this patch material causing the snowblower to stop and jerk. Using a shovel is almost impossible when you keep hitting theses seams. I wrote a note out of frustration and said I would hold them liable for any damage to my snowblower or my wrists. [redacted] replied that my complaints were not worthy of consideration and told me " not to call them again" as they don't want me as a customer. The moral is as long as they do a good job and you don't complain you are a good customer, complain and you are 100% wrong. I told [redacted] that he was fortunate to have the last name "Poblocki" or in most cases his lack of response would have gotten him fired.

I contacted Poblocki for a quote to sealcoat and patch a small parking lot. I made it clear that I knew the lot was older, but I did not want to do any major repair or replacement at this time. I was simply looking to extend the life of the lot. I waited 6 weeks for the quote. When it came it was for a complete tear out and rebuild of the lot for over $10000. NO other options were provided. I contacted Poblocki back to indicate that was not what I requested and I had wasted my time. I was then told that I had wasted their time and they wouldn't want to put their name on my crappy lot. Even though this response came from a Poblocki, we thought we should let the owner know. He apparently didn't want to waste any more of their valuable time with a response which indicates the company isn't concerned with customer service. I proceeded to get a couple other quotes (received within a couple days) and those businesses were happy to provide options ranging from just sealcoating to some patching to partial replacement to full replacement. I went with a middle of the road approach for less than $2000, and the company did a great job. The company that did the work then also received further work from a neighbor, a city worker who was working in the area, a co-worker, and our personal residence. So, if you have limitless resources, want to go with high-priced options, and don't mind rudeness go with Poblocki. If you're like me and want to use a company that listens to customer needs and treats customers (and even potential customers well) then I recommend using an alternative.
