Pocono Auto Mart Reviews (3)

Review: Purchased a 2000 [redacted] in May of 2012 for 14000.00 from Wyoming Valley Auto Mart, [redacted]. The car overheated three days after purchase and spent approximately four weeks back and forth for repair with [redacted]. Told there was "mud" flushing out of the radiator. Wanted a different vehicle at this point was told no. Kept the vehicle out of no other choice while responsible for various repairs over the past two years involving the same issue-radiator until the motor finally blew this past March. Asked to either trade in the vehicle for another putting a small remaining balance of 3400.00 on the new loan or for a new motor be put in the vehicle. Was told no on the trade in and that they would pay half for the new motor but we had to use his repair man who was charging us double compared to other reputible shops. Up to the first week of August every payment was made on this vehicle from 14000.00 to 3400.00. At this point with no resolution and paying on a verhicle that did not run in almost 6 months, I told the owner to take the vehicle and where it was located. He stated that it was not in his financial interest to take the vehicle and it was "mine". I stated so you are going to give me the title and he replied no and that was the last I heard from him until I received a certified letter on 8-12-2014 stating that [redacted] Finance Corp had taken possession of the car due to delinquent debt in the amount of 3451.67 and we had 15 days to pay the balance or the car would be sold at a public auction. The car was actually not taken into possession and is stored at a nearby garage since March that we voluntarily communicated to Mike at Wyoming Valley Auto Mart. The letter is signed by William L. G[redacted]. This car I believe was a flood car and so did the mechanic at [redacted] Garage. He stated after the third time trying to clear the radiator that his advice was to "give it back" that was in 2012.Desired Settlement: I first want it publically known of Wyoming Valley Motor's poor quality cars and customer service. I paid a loan down on a car from over 14000.00 to 3400.00 that I was advised was a lemon from their own mechanic 3 days after we bought it. I paid on the car because I did not want my credit ruined and felt I had no choice. I continued to pay on the car even after the radiator leaked to the point of the motor blowing for over six months with no resolution. I want a full refund.

I’m attaching notes from our finance company management system which are self-explanatory. As you may note there are four (4) pages of collection notes pertaining to this customer. Some of the notes refer to physical damage insurance for the vehicle. Obviously, [redacted] didn’t care to abide by the terms of the finance contract which state that he must retain physical damage insurance on the vehicle during the period that it is financed. Other notes, pertain to when the motor blew and the finance company offered to allow him to trade the inoperative vehicle for another...

When [redacted] purchased the vehicle there was 86773 miles on the vehicle. I don’t know how many miles where on the vehicle when the motor blew, which was approximately two (2) years from the purchase date.

Attached are invoices of repairs to the vehicle totaling $2052.12. [redacted] complained of over-heating of the motor, kindly notice that the radiator was replaced. These repairs where paid by the dealership, and did not cost [redacted] any out-of-pocket expense.

The correct sale price of the vehicle on May 12, 2012 was $10,000.

[redacted] is making unsubstantial claims as to a flood vehicle. At no time a mechanic at [redacted] Auto Specialists indicated on any of the repair invoices that the vehicle was a flood vehicle. We do not sell flood vehicles at the Pocono Automart.

The bottom line is that the motor most likely blew because of [redacted]s lack of maintenance to the vehicle.

A VERY INTERESTING TWIST TO THIS STORY OCCURRED TODAY, WHEN [redacted] CALLED OUR OFFICE STATING THAT HE WAS GOING TO PAY-OFF THE DEFICIENCY BALANCE OWED ON HIS ACCOUNT WHEN HE SOLD HIS HOUSE THIS OCTOBER.

I sincerely hope the above response is satisfactory to put this matter to rest.

Thank you.

William *. G[redacted], President

Pocono Automart and [redacted] Finance Corp.

Review: Before I purchased this vehicle my wife test drove the vehicle because I was out of town on business and noticed a shimmy. She informed the dealer of the shimmy. They said it was due to bad tires and they put new tires on it for me. When I test drove the vehicle iI did not feel a shimmy, assuming it had been fixed, however I did not drive it far nor did I drive it at a higher speed. The very next day I left to go out of town with this vehicle. Once on the highway I felt a severe shimmy and it progressively became worse. Because I was out of town I was stuck with the vehicle until I could get in back for service. I assumed the vehicle needed the U joints replaced. The Pocono auto marts service department agreed. Two weeks later they told me to come get my vehicle. I went down and test drove it and it still did not fix the problem. The head of the service department went for a ride with me and confirmed there was in fact still a severe shimmy in the vehicle. He told me after evaluating the vehicle again that it had bent wheels and would order new wheels. Another week goes by and he calls me and says he put new wheels and new tires on again and that it still had a shimmy. He said than that he looked at it again and said he noticed a bent drive shaft and that he was going to look at the front axels and order what he needed to fix the front end. Another week goes by, mind you I have been paying on this vehicle this entire time, he calls, tells me " I did everything I said I was going to do, the vehicle still has a shimmy, I can't fix it what do you want to do about it?" So I called the salesman [redacted] and told him that the service department claims they can't fix the vehicle so how are you going to make this right, you either need to get this vehicle fixed, get me into another vehicle or refund my

Money and ill go elsewhere." [redacted] told me he would love to help me, he doesn't see why they wouldn't be able to do something but he wasn't able to make that decision. He said " the owner would be in town on Wednesday June 4th and that I should call him "[redacted]" and we could handle this on Wednesday. I took off of work, called Pocono Auto Mart and they told me [redacted] was scheduled off today and that the owner is out of town and that there is no way I could speak to either one of them and the girl said she could email the owner but she could not guarantee he would call me back. On April 18th 2014 I signed the contract to purchase this truck with a down payment of $2,000. On Wednesday April 30th 2014 I made a payment of $200 which is more than the amount that was du. On Wednesday May 16th 2014 I made a payment of $164.24 and on May 30, 2014 I made a payment for $364.24 and today is 6-4-2014 and as of today I have spent all this money and drive the truck for less than one week. They have the truck in their possession.Desired Settlement: I would like them to put me in an equivalent truck.

Dear [redacted],In a nutshell, [redacted] version of the incident is for the most part very accurate. He & his wife initially drove the [redacted] and found no issues or complaints. When he returned from his first long trip with the truck, he complained of a driveline vibration. He was very patient and understanding throughout this whole ordeal that spanned for a couple of weeks. We swapped axles, brake drums, driveshafts, tires & wheels. We then sent the truck to [redacted], who had the truck for 3 days and also could not diagnose the problem either. We then sent it to [redacted] truck repair in the [redacted], who diagnoses, & repairs drive line complaints, noises, & vibrations. They also could not repair complaint, and wanted to try just about everything that we had already tried. [redacted] was informed by me personally every step of the way. When I told him that we were not able to repair the driveline vibration, I suggested to him that we could apply all the money that he put toward the [redacted], on a 2006 [redacted] 1500 4x4 pickup truck. He initially put down 2000.00, and over the course of 6 weeks, also payed us 910.60 in payments. After [redacted] came to Pocono Automart, and drove the [redacted] for about 45 minutes, he told me he would sleep on it, and let me know the next morning. He decided to not go with the [redacted]. We refunded [redacted] his full amount of 2910.60 and we parted friends. At no time was [redacted] misled at all. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me at ###-###-####.Thank You,

Response:

This response pertains to the complainants recent rejection of our response to Revdex.com dated October 7th, 2014. Complainant states a "Complete Warranty" was received with the delivery of the vehicle from the Wyoming Valley Automart.. This warranty was issued by a company called [redacted] Corp. The complainant paid [redacted] for the service contract. This company provides a service contract with limitations. The complainant should thoroughly read the contents of the service contract to fully understand what is covered and what is not covered. IT DOES NOT STATE IN EXTREME CASES THE PRESENT VEHICLE WOULD BE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER ON!!!!The radiator overheating could have been caused by a cooling fan assembly which is an integral part of the air conditioning system. A faulty cooling fan could cause the to vehicle to overheat when stopped. The cooling fan assembly is designed to activate when the engine temperature reaches 225 degrees. This degree of heat can happen when the vehicle is stopped. The fan is to immediately kick in to cool the engine. When the vehicle is back in motion,, the air flow through the radiator cools the engine. If the fan was intermitenly working, it could have caused the radiator to overheat when the vehicle was stopped. Some liquids could have boiled out, but evidently not enough to cause the vehicle to overheat when in motion. When one looks at the overflow "bootle/container" they may think the radiator is emply, but acutally it is not.. In this case, obviously it was not emply because the engine keep performing without seizing. Arrangement can be made to check the condition of the fan assembly by calling [redacted] @ [redacted]. NO CHARGE.In regards to the struts, this is not a covered item under the Service Contract of [redacted]. This is a wear and tear item. Replacement of this item is to be borne by the vehicle owner. An invoice was received from [redacted] dated September 9th, to replace (2) front structs and (2) sway bar links in the amount of $419.40. At this time, only the sway bar links were repaced and the $55.78 invoice was paid by [redacted].Approval was never granted to replace the struts. The complainant took it upon herself to have the struts replaced. Remember, this WAS not a covered item under the [redacted] policy. As a "Good Will " offer, I'm willing to reimburse the complainant 1/2 of the cost of (2) struts plus the 1/2 of the labor to install the sruts. This amounts to a total of $176.82. The complaninant should contact me directly, if she agrees to acceptance this "Good Will" offer. I'll then prepare the necessary documents for her signature. If the complainant desires to review the documents before executing them, she should e-mail me @ [email protected]. I'll forward the documents for review. If acceptable, a check will then be issued in the aforementioned amount. William L. G[redacted] , President Grant Equity, Inc. d/b/a Wyoming Valley Automart [redacted]
