On October 24, 2015 the Pocono Mountains Film Festival celebrated our 13th Annual Awards dinner at the [redacted] Resort in the Poconos.
The named person [redacted] that filed a complaint against the Pocono Mountains Film Festival purchased 4 awards dinner tickets...
approximately 30 days prior to the event. All attendees must reserve their tickets and a head count is given to the hotel to assure in advance that each participant attending the [redacted] awards dinner receives a dinner that he or she has paid for.The evening of October 24th [redacted] stated that he wanted to cancel his 4 dinner tickets upon his arrival with his 3 guests to the dinner. He was told that it was too late to cancel and that his $240.00 had been given to the hotel / for head count purposes.[redacted] had 3 weeks prior to the dinner to cancel and he did not. As a policy we inform our guests in advance that we must give a head count to the hotel to allow them to prepare the exact amount of food for each participant attending the dinner.If a person waits until the day of the event to cancel we cannot reimburse any monies or take a loss due to their negligence to cancel prior to the event. We must have a reasonable time of notice to allow us to inform the caterers at the hotel of the adjustment prior to the day of the event.
