PODS Reviews (8)

They were dispatched in a timely manner and completed work at a reasonable cost I would recommend them to anyoneThis is a company who is truly proud of what they doHigh morals and standards!!

Dealing with PODS has been so frustrating! They won't contact me about re-placing my POD so I can access it from my driveway They put the door facing a field! When I told the driver it needed to be turned around, he said, "I put it where you told me to." But I guess I assumed that he would put the door where we could access it
I have tried numerous ways to talk to a manager, I even went to the office No help whatsoever!

Review: Pod advertises that they will call you the day before to let you know about an estimated delievery time. Was never called. Had to drive 2 hrs at 6am when the driver called my cell to tell me he was at the residence. Then overcharged me so much. pod was to be picked up on may 28th. instead of picking it up for free like the say they do...they didn't come and charged me an additional month's rent to use it....Desired Settlement: all monies be returned or a portion returned

Review: I ordered a POD last November 2014 to store our house hold items in. We chose PODS because our possessions were supposed to be stored in a environmentally controlled ware house. I called to have my POD delivered to our new address in October 2015. On the delivery date we received a phone call stating that the ware house was some how contaminated by a powder substance from a near by factory. We were told they did not know what it was or if it was hazardous. We would not be getting our POD until they determined it was safe. We were told some one would keep us updated and no one did. After several calls by myself and my husband we were told that the substance was not hazardous, but that they could not tell us what it was. Our POD was finally delivered a week after the scheduled delivery date. A letter was attached to the POD stating that if when we opened the POD the "White Dust" was present to not disturb it and notify PODS immediately and they would resolve the issue. Our pod is full of the Dust and I called that evening to report it to PODS like the letter stated to do. An incident report was filed and I was told I would hear from some one with in 24 - 48 hours. I called every morning since the report was made and was unable to get any information. This morning I called once again and I was not given any information and was told that my incident report was not submitted correctly and I would be contacted by some one once that was processed. I still have not received a phone call.Desired Settlement: I want to know exactly what this "White Dust " is. And I want compensation for my possessions that may be contaminated due to this substance. I want answers!! We have lived for two weeks with out the comforts of our belongings. Is it even safe to have my stuff to be moved into my home. What is the protocol for fixing this situation??

Review: Everything started out great! The POD was delivered to my home the day I wanted it. We packed the POD and ran into an issue with our move. The POD had to be picked up before we closed (on a Monday) on our home. I called PODS and asked them if they could pick up the POD in the morning before we closed. They called Pittsburgh, and they said it would be picked up before 8am. I was delighted!

Everything went wrong from here on out. I got a call from the driver saying he was picking up the POD at 9:30! I assumed it was gone, as we had already moved out. We didn't own the house anymore!! I texted him back, and he replied that there was a glitch in the system. He said Someone had already picked up the POD, and it's no longer in the driveway. I was okay with this and was on my way to work. On my way, I saw I had a missed call/ voicemail from the supervisor. I called him back. The supervisor said that he doesn't know where the pod was, and I should run back to my old address and check. I knew I was going to be late for work, but I went. The driver couldn't find the Pod that was sitting in my driveway... And it was still there! I waited, gave detailed directions, and the Pod driver picked up the pod out of the new homeowners driveway. This was about 11am.

Embarrassing, but not the end of the world.

I called Pods and scheduled the drop off/ pick up for the day we closed on our new home. I As we got closer, I noticed that it wasn't on the online schedule, so I called. Every time I called it took at least 30 minutes. They said there was a software problem, but told me they scheduled it. They even called the Pittsburgh office to make sure. I called again the day before to hear our service window because we had hired movers. They couldn't give me a service window. I spoke to a gentleman that said to me... "We can have the box dropped off as late as 7pm today (1/29)and picked back up as early as 7am tomorrow. Are you sure that this is enough time to empty your contents?" I assured him it was. There isn't a lot of space to have a pod at our new home, and the township is rigid on how long you can keep a pod in your driveway. It all worked out, and the pod was delivered when we had the movers still there unloading the u haul. However, That conversation assured me that I was definitely on the schedule for the next day.

The next day came and around 1-2 o'clock I decided to call even though the pick up was confirmed the day before and scheduled a week in advance. I was on hold for about 30 minutes (again!). When I finally got an answer, I was so angry. Corporate can see that I scheduled a pick up, but I wasn't on the schedule for that day! I told them I wanted it picked up. They can put me at the end of the day. No! The earliest day they now have available is Tuesday (2/2). What!?! There was never any compensation offered. They admitted they made mistakes, but I was always the one to suffer. We do not have room to park our cars and risk getting hit by the multiple construction vehicles in the neighborhood. We may even be cited for the eyesore in the driveway.

I called this company at least half a dozen times, wasting hours on hold.Desired Settlement: I want the pod picked up now! If they can't pick it up, there should be financial compensation.

Review: On November 6, 2015, I went to retrieve items from my pod. An employee had to pry open the door because it was damaged. Once opened, I discovered that nearly everything in my pod was damaged or destroyed. The pod itself was broken at the beams and dented on the side. They had dropped it either in transit or storage and neglected to inform me. I immediately filed a complaint and received an incident number and a specialist who was supposed to help me through the process of relief. Since then I've complied with every request from pods. I filled out an inventory form, itemizing everything that was damaged, I revised it and specified a few matters of detail. Now, when I ask what's going on with our case I hear from the specialist, via email, and then nothing again for weeks. I email again to find out what's going on, receive a request for another specification, then nothing. It's been two weeks since last hearing from the specialist. It's been over 60 days and it seems I'm no closer to restitution. I've called corporate to file a complaint against my specialist. I don't know what else to do.Desired Settlement: Restitution for my damaged and destroyed items. I'd like to move on from this situation but I can't because pods doesn't communicate with me or send me relief.
