Point North RV Reviews (%countItem)

We had work done by this company and the work was acceptable. The problem is the company said they would come out get our camper tow it back to their shop fix the problem with floor and slide out and then return and set back up on lot. But never gave any instructions on anything to do before they picked it up. Was told they would come and close up and take away. Well the camper came back with broken tv's and other appliances laying all over the floor and all they would say is sorry. So then I tried to call and talk to a manager or owner and talked to Jeff I believe that when asked why they didn't secure the trailer like any other professional would he said its not their job. So I asked do you let your customers know a head of time to secure the camper by written or verbal and he stated its common sense and not there job. By the time the guy hung up on me his story had changed 3 times on what happened. Very piss poor business ethnics and would not and will not recommend to my worst enemy.

we spoke with your father, he asked us to pick up his camper to fix an issue he had. We did not sell him this camper, just did as instructed. We always say let us know when the camper is ready to be towed. We did on this occasion as well. On a side note ***, the camper was locked and we could not access it. When it was brought back here our tech had to crawl through a window to get inside. After is was opened we saw the tv had not been strapped in and called the owner (your father) he informed us then that he thought his son *** had done that. It would have been virtually impossible to access the inside of your camper without crawling through the window and we did not have the tools to do that.

Purchased a camper(as is) had the camper a week, and discovered a rusty staple on the ceiling inside. Took off the paneling to discover rotten wet boards. We knew about the "leak" in the back of the camper that the manager stated was fixed but they were advertising as a hunting special because someone else could fix the soft spot on the floor. Manger stated that the camper has already gone through all inspections and there were no leaks and everything was fixed. When we noticed the rotten boards we instantly call the RV company, after sending pictures and talking they agreed to come pick up the camper and take it back. They they took possession of the camper back on 11/6/2019. We did the paper work to get refunded the license plate and title but unable to get the sales tax because the dealership is unwilling to refund us. The letter we got from the state of Michigan Department of Treasury states "be advised that it has always been the departments position that the deal is considered the taxpayer, the person who remitted tax to the stat. We do not refund out of the taxpayers account to a third party. You must request/receive a refund of tax directly from them. After refunding the tax back to you the dealer may then request a refund directly from this department." I even read this letter to the woman working in the office and they said they weren't going to refund.

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like the 264.00 back that we paid for the sales tax.

and his wife came in looking for a camper. They wanted something cheap they could repair themselves. We showed *** everything that was wrong with the camper, held absolutely nothing back. We had another customer that wanted the camper, after showing *** all of the issues with the camper he said he wanted it. We said *** we have another guy that wants the camper...are you sure? He said yes and bought the camper. We had to deliver the camper 2 hours away from the dealership where he lived. 3 weeks later *** called and said he did not want the camper. He complained about the very things we showed him. I took the camper back and refunded his money. Then he said he wanted his sales tax refunded. My F & I manager contacted the *** of ***, they sent us a form which would get them a refund. Unfortunately if we signed the form it would be lying. I cannot lie on a government form. The form stated that the unit never left my dealership, well it did, we hauled the 2 hours to his house. The form also states the camper was never plated and of course it was. *** then had someone call our dealership and threaten us. We try our absolute best to do everything we can for the customer. We refunded his money for a camper we delivered two hours away. We then had to go pick the camper up 2 hours away. We sent a form to *** and his wife to fill out to get their refund from the ***, they never filled it out. This issue is between secretary of state and ***.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We did come in looking for a cheap camper, and the "issues" that the camper had that was stated to us was it had a water leak in the back by the bunk beds but everything else was ok, and has went through the full inspections through North Point. We agreed to buy it and they offered to deliver it, because we couldn't take it home that day, they wanted to winterize it(which was never done when it was delivered to us) and clean it up. Upon getting it to our house and cutting out the soft spot in the floor(that we knew about) to do the repair *** was looking through the camper and noticed a rusty staple on the ceiling, he decided to look into it. The ceiling wood was soaked and mold (mind you this was in the bedroom which was at the opposite end of the trailer). We told North Point about the issues they agreed to come pick up the camper from us and give us $4300 back. The original purchase of the camper was $4400(but they wanted to keep a hundred for driving back and fourth from *** to Fremont). I have been on the phone numerous times with the *** of Michigan regarding the refund and have been told by 3 different people the refund needs to come from North Point. I have even attached the letter that was sent to us twice. *** sent an email to *** on 2/27/2020 explaining we need to fill out the form that she attached. We have filled out that form twice, and we responded telling her that. I also attached the letter we got back from the department of treasury. I advised *** to Call *** regarding the letter he sent us and ask about the law. I did call him again today and just confirmed that the dealership needs to issue a refund and he did say yes, and provided me with the link that explains the process. Which is here: https://www.michigan.gov/documents/treasury/RAB_2019-19_Sales_Tax_Refund_Procedures_for_Motor_Vehicles_672343_7.pdf

With that being said North Point RV should be issuing us a refund in the amount of $264.00 then the dealership would go and request the money from the state.

Emails were going back and fourth with *** from North Point on February 27 & 28th then haven't heard anything. *** stated "*** we spoke to *** at the secretary of state today his number is 517-636-4120 he stated that the only person that can request money back is the customer. The dealer was paying the secretary of state for you. He also stated that because the camper was delivered and plated state taxes would probably not be reimbursed." My response to *** was "Thanks for providing the number to *** I just gave him a call. He sent North Point the form for North Point to fill out! The request needs to come from the dealer, we paid the dealer and the dealer paid the state. Then the dealer needs to pay the customer the money back. The request should happen because all of this was done within the 30 days. I have attached the Revenue Administrative Bulletin from the department of treasury on the Revdex.com email, but I will attach it here for you as well www.michigan.gov/documents/treasury/RAB_2019-19_Sales_Tax_Refund_Procedures_for_Motor_Vehicles_672343_7.pdf"
It's been 2 weeks and would like to know what they are planning to do. We would like our money back that we paid.

to me

Hello Toni,

Here is the link. I copied and pasted it into my browser and it worked https://www.michigan.gov/documents/treasury/RAB_2019-19_Sales_Tax_Refund_Procedures_for_Motor_Vehicles_672343_7.pdf Its the link that *** from the state of Michigan provided to me. Its the law in which coincides with our issue. *** had talked to *** on the phone and sent her an email of the form that she needed to fill out. She then started emailing us telling us we need to fill it out. when we have 2 times! and got the same response back from the state. It needs to come from the dealer.

Thank you
