First, a copy of the contract I supposedly signed was not in with the correspondence Green State Storage sent to me. Further, any contract signed by me would have been with the knowledge and understanding that a business must keep their facility in good repair. Green State Storage has failed to keep their business in good repair. The loss of my personal property is from the company's neglect. They knew they were not making necessary repairs and still continued to take my money each month. When they are charging people to store their belongings, they have a legal responsibility to the customer to ensure their building is safe to store belongings. The owner keeps insisting that no one else is complaining about damage to their property and continues to insist that there are other renters, but the last two times I have gone to my storage unit, all other storage units are unlocked, opened and appear just to be filled with abandoned junk. And, it does not really matter that no one else is complaining as I am telling them and the Revdex.com that my furniture is ruined due to water damage. Entire boxes of stuff have been ruined as well. I went to pick up a box, and the box disintegrated and everything in the box was completely ruined and covered with a black mold. That no one else is complaining is not a valid reason why Green State Storage should refuse to supply either myself or you with their insurance informationOr why they are not responsible for my damaged belongings.Yes, Green State Storage has offered another storage facility. I now understand why: This building is an unsafe place to store your belongings. If Green State Storage had told me that they were having problems with the building and that my belongings may be ruined, I would have found another facility to store my belongings. Just the fact that they have mentioned this, to me, now shows that they knew that this building was unsafe for storage, yet they continued to take my money each month. Regardless, I have paid over $thousand dollars to store my belongings. It is a reasonable assumption when you store your belongings; those same belongings will be in the exact same condition when you remove them from storage as when you put them in storage. Many pieces of furniture were in new condition when I put them in this storage facility. I spent many thousands of dollars on a couch, wing chair, desk, bookcases, dressers and dining room table. All of this furniture is now ruined. The items that were packed in boxes are worth thousands of dollars as well. Everything smells like mold, I am sick for two days after going into the storage unit as the mold is causing headaches and nausea. Lastly, even if I had renter’s insurance, they would more than likely not cover my lost property as the damage to my belongings is very clearly from the owner’s neglect to maintain their property. This property is in no way safe for the consumer to store their belongings. The building is in very poor condition with the second floor sagging and paint peeling. It appeared to me that the entire building has experienced damage from water leaking into the building. When I initially stored my belongings, this was not the condition of the building. The facility appeared to be in good repair and it was not used as a dumping ground for abandoned junk. When I first stored by belongings, you could actually drive your truck into the facility to unpack your truck into the rented storage bin. Now you can barely walk into the place because it is as I stated earlier, just a dumping ground for abandoned junk. The damage to my property has been caused by the neglect of the owners of Green State Storage to maintain the building. Regards,*** ***
