Review: At the end of March 2013, I dropped off an onan generator to be repaired The company called and said it needed some type of mother board and I needed to purchase the part and they would put on for $125.00. I purchased the part for $540.00 took it to the company for them to install. A month went by and my husband called to check status and was told they were still working on, another month went by same response. Around the frist of August my husband called to ask for the generator back as it was clear they were not working on. We were told they didnt have the generator and they had to send to someone else to look over to see what the problem was as the $540.00 part we purchased was not it. I told Mr. Pomeroy that we did not authorize them to send it out for any other repairs and that we only authorized $125.00. At the end of August Pomeroy's called my husband and told him that we needed to pick up the generator and have it reprogrammed. My husband start calling around and was told you dont reprogram a generator, we even called Onan customer service and was told the same thing. The second week of September they finally admitted they could fix it and didnt know what was wrong and to come get the generator. My husband told them he didnt feel he owed them $265.00 they were asking for as we didnt authorize extra work. Mr. Pomeroy told him he could not have the generator if he didnt pay. This is terrible way to do business, it cost us $805.00, they had it 6 months, I feel they should have told us back in April they couldnt fix it.Desired Settlement: I feel Pomeroys should meet us half way on this as they didnt know what was wrong, just took our money.

I have reviewed the repair in question for the [redacted]' generator, I am sending the receipt for the repair and offering the following information. I too am very upset with the outcome of the generator repair, we certainly tried to fix the unit and even sent it out to have our work checked. The problem is that the engine seems to have a bad cam and while we fixed the generator output by replacing the computer board **. [redacted] brought to us along with the brush holder and brushes we ordered for him. The repair took my mechanic a long time due to the generator being in poor shape and the [redacted]' wanted to supply parts needed. In all we have over 12 hours in the repair but only charged for 1 hour, and the parts which we did supply. I did not sell them a computer board and they did not pay any more than the receipt indicates to us. I am certainly sure the unit will perform if the timing issues is corrected, however **. [redacted] was not willing to put any more money in the unit, and as I told him 1 was done working for free.

Review: After taking a garden tiller in for evaluation/repair, the pull start rope was not retracting, I waited one week before stopping by for an update. At that time the mechanic told me it would be done the middle of the week and it was - they called me, I paid for the repair and took the tiller home. After a couple pulls to start the mechanism failed to retract and a piece of plastic fell out, I went back expressed my concern over the week and half wait time, the failed repair, the fact no one ever quoted me for service - the woman there pointed me to the mechanic who walked to my truck, saw the tiller was broken and started to remove the tiller - I said I don't want you to have it for two weeks and not fix it again at which time he forcefully shoved my tiller back into the truck and spouted off as he walked away "you will have to come in on saturday and talk to so and so". I then tried repeatedly to get a refund, was told by the woman there the owner would call me but that he wanted to fix it. I asked if the bill would then be more and she said maybe, I said no thanks and I don't like the way the mechanic behaved, I will not be bullied. I still have not heard from them, my next step is to go to small claims court - I have my receipt for 54.91.Desired Settlement: I would like the $54.91 I paid them in cash to repair my tiller back -

I am rejecting this response because:

I wish the business was as together as they try and appear in this letter, the mechanic just stomped away and yelled telling me I would have to talk to (cant remember the name) and the woman working inside had no idea what to do about anything. I didn't get to use the equipment again only start it and the same part that had failed originally failed again - the business then gave the response that maybe the clutch or something was possibly sticking. So they failed to diagnose the problem to begin with, I asked if it would be more money and the woman had no idea how much or when the work would be completed. I was told the owner would contact me, never did but he did take the time to write a letter painting his business as professional and gave a false version of events to which he never witnessed and never called me to try and resolve this. What other action can I take? Apparently court fees are more than the repair amount so I can sue in local court which if I win will cost the business twice as much as they will have to refund my money and pay the court fees. Do I have any other choice?
