Mr.I' am truly sorry this we had this scheduling problem at our store in [redacted]. and for the way you were treated. It all comes down to a lack of communication on our part which has been addressed.I want to thank you for bringing this to our attention. Without folks like you taking the time to...

inform us of a problem, we would never know we had a problem.  I understand you and the store manager talked and you are scheduled to come back for an alignment. I am very confident your appointment will go well. Regards, [redacted]Pomp's Tire Service

Review: Purchased a set of Hankook tires for Toyota Camry. The tires supposedly have a 100,000 mile prorated warranty. After just 10,000-15,000 miles the tires became very noisy, harsh and sound like they were out of balance. I took the Camry to another shop to get an estimate for a front-end alignment. They told me they would not do an alignment because the tires were shot and needed to be replaced. This is with about 30,000 miles on the tires. When we contacted Pomp's (their store in Spooner, WI), they told us they would not honor the warranty because we did not have the tires rotated by them every 5000 miles. The thing is, my wife did bring them in to have them rotated after 5000 miles and the staff at the shop was very rude, complaining about having to do the rotation, presumably because there's no money in it for them to do so. My wife was upset and told me she would never bring her car back to the shop for any reason. After that, I ended up rotating the tires myself every 5000 miles when I did an oil change on the car. Since there's no way to prove this, the warranty is void. My feeling is that rotating the tires wouldn't have prevented the issue anyway. I've never had this problem with any other set of tires I've ever purchased for any vehicle I've ever owned.Desired Settlement: I expect a full refund of the cost of the tires minus the number of miles we have put on the car since having the tires installed.

I’m sorry to have gotten this complaint from [redacted] and I can understand his frustration. I’m sure we can resolve this. Could you please get an invoice number and date of purchase from [redacted] and ask him if I can contact him? I need more details about the tires so I can make a fair settlement for him and Pomp's Tire Service.

Review: One of the worst customer service ever. I took my rims to get it dismount so I can get them painted today and I was told I can come pick it up at noon. When I arrived there, one of my tires was puncture by the machine. They told me they did their best and I can buy a new tire from them for $135 to replace the tire. I was just shocked that they did not take matters to their hand and expect me as the customer to pay for what they did. The manager stated that two of the tires was from 2008 but still have a 90% thread left and was too old. They never once warned or stated this could happen to older tires and I was not aware of this. I didn't get to sign any terms and condition paper and told me to just take my rims and tires elsewhere because they can't do anything about it. They told me they will not charge me for the service they did so I took the tires/rims and left. I talked to an upper management [redacted] and he said the same thing that they are not reliable. Who treats their customer like this? I asked around to see who can dismount low profile tires and they were the only one that can. This isn't my first time being there that's why I trusted them. I told them if this was Wal-Mart, they would replace my tire with a new one and try to satisfy their customer. The manager replied back, why don't I go to them instead? What a horrible way of treating your customers. This will be the last time I'm coming or referring anyone to Pomp's Tires. Here is the image[redacted]Desired Settlement: Replace the tire they destroyed.

Hello,I am responding to complaint number [redacted] submitted to Pomp's Tire Service on 8-12-2015.First, I would like to apologize for the circumstances related to a tire situation at one of our stores. We strive to give the best possible service in a professional way along with using the most up to date equipment available to us. In regards to the tires dismounted and the tire that was damaged when dismounting, we didn't know these tires were ran low on air which created severe internal sidewall damage to all four tires. Even though these tires had 90% of the tread remaining, these were manufactured in 2008 (which should have been removed from service a few years ago) and were not properly maintained. The customer wanted the tires dismounted so he could get the wheels repaired and painted to eliminate air leaks. (Which we didn't charge him for)The customer also stated he spoke to the [redacted] for Wisconsin. This is not true for the [redacted] didn't receive any communication from him. If the consumer truly feels we owe him for a tire, have him contact the local manager and he will take care of it.Thank you,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Sorry about stating I spoke with [redacted]. I got confused with the two managers/supervisors I was speaking with. I only spoke with [redacted] from the Appleton store and left [redacted] a voicemail. [redacted] called me back and said he spoke with [redacted] and [redacted] said the store will not be liable for the damaged tire. From doing research online on popular tire websites such as discounttires.com, tirerack.com and michelinman.com, I noticed they all mentioned that 10 years is recommended to replace tires. My tire was only seven years old and had no sign of damages that was pointed out.http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireLife.doshttp://www.tirerack.com/tir... do believe that Pomp's Tires owe me a new tire so I can replace the damage one. I will contact the manager [redacted] from the Appleton store where my tire was damaged to get a new one.

Regards,

I made an appointment a week out. The person setting the appointment asked plenty of questions to "be sure" they could take care of me. I get to my appointment 15 minutes early, and I'm told that they will get me in. I gave them my keys for them to do an alignment. They let my car sit there in the parking lot for 25 minutes. They get in, drive it to the garage, then drive it back to the parking lot. They let my car sit there for another 20 minutes. FINALLY they told me that they weren't going to have the time to do it. So I made an appointment to sit there for 45 minutes. The bald guy (maybe the manager) seemed perfectly content to let my business walk. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone. They all seemed shady, and incompetent.

Review: I purchased a new set of 4 wheels ( 3 - 20"x9" Dropstar 645b and 1 - 20"x9" Dropstar 545b) and tires (33" Nitto Trail Grapplers 295/65r20) from [redacted]s ([redacted]) and I was shipped the incorrect wheels. So they shipped me new wheels (4 20"-9" BMF Novakane), and I was to have the tires swapped onto the BMF Novakanes. I brought the wheels to Pomp's Tire 1690 County Road XX, Rothschild, WI location to have the work done. We visually inspected each Dropstar wheel in the garage after we unloaded them, and gave them the new boxed Novakane wheels that were to have the tires mounted upon. I asked the mechanics doing the work to be careful as they are going to have to be shipped back to the business of purchase. I then left, and returned 3 hours later when I received a call that they were done (normally this process takes less then 3 hours) near when they were done (10 mins before the shop closed). They helped me put the wheel/tire set I was keeping into my truck, I then got back into my truck and was about to leave when I realized I was forgetting the Dropstar wheels they removed from the tires. We went into the shop and I found the Dropstar wheels wrapped in plastic inside of the boxes. We then loaded the boxed Dropstar wheels into my truck and I left without inspecting them, as it is -10 degrees outside and if there was damage I would expect to be told of the damage. The next day I brought the wheels inside to get them ready for shipping. When I inspected the Dropstar wheels they were very dirty with a clay/dirt, there were glove prints on the wheels, I noticed scratches on the wheels but though nothing of it as they were dulled by the dirt and passed them of as plastic mark from the machine they use to remove the tires. I shipped them back to [redacted] the next day. A few days later when the wheels were received by [redacted], they emailed me pictures of the wheels now cleaned and shinny, they had circular scratches on the faces and deep gouges from what I assume was metal on metal contact. [redacted] and l attempted to contact pomps multiple times. They would not respond to email so I called the corporate office and talked to Jay. He had the shop manager (Jay also) contact [redacted] and I. [redacted] and the shop manager exchanged 3 emails, and the shop manager stopped responding to [redacted]. So I drove to the shop and talked to the manager in person. He stated I inspected the Dropstar wheels after they were removed and said they were good (this never happened). He was unwilling to pay for the full replacement, and talked about paying for part of a repair of the Dropstar wheels. [redacted] is not willing to repair them as they are to damaged to repair and sell.Desired Settlement: I propose that Pomp's purchase the severely damaged wheels at [redacted]s cost of $740. I will pay to have the rims shipped back to Pomp's from [redacted], because I shipped them back to Illinois.

Thank you,

Review: I had gone to Pomps to have some pulleys replaced, they had replaced the pulleys and the brakes forgot to plug the A/C compressor back in took it to another shop they said who worked on the pulleys had not plugged it back in so I had them do it took it to Pomps they reimbursed me, I had needed the water pump replaced and they were to busy so I took it to Auto Select in Appleton Wisconsin on Northland Avenue they did a full inspection and saw the breaks had been installed correctly and could be dangerous so I had them reinstall the breaks correctly and called Pomps and talked to the store manager [redacted] to resolve the issue I had told him what Auto Select said about the breaks and he said "how about you have them fix something and bring it here and we'll down talk them" I told him it's not even like that, that the breaks had been put on wrong, he responded with "Have a nice day" and hung up the phone and refused to respond to me.Desired Settlement: My desired out come is to have Pomps reimburse me the 60$ for having the breaks reinstalled and have whoever did the breaks at Pomps be talked to and shown how to correctly install breaks because if it keeps happening he could be indangering people's lives.

Regards,

Upon perchasing a set of 4 new tires and asking for them to be installed they informed me that my lower ball joints were bad and the repair would cost $379.95. My truck is a 2013 Chevy Silverado with mostly highway miles as I have another truck used for woods. There is no way my trucks lower joints could be bad as the truck was handling and performing great. I had an oil change appointment scheduled for the next day at Heritage Cheverlet in my home town of Tomahawk and asked them to please look it over. With much dismay I was informed that nothing was wrong with the lower joints. I feel Pomps is working up fake estimates and this matter should be looked into.
Thank you for your valued time, [redacted]

Review: Pomp's has a coupon advertising a $21.95 oil change. But they also charge an additional fee for recycling the waste oil, which is typical. However, in looking at the invoice they also charge an additional $10 labor fee plus a $1.50 'supply fee'. I did call the shop...the mechanic says the coupon is worth $6. No matter how you add it up, your oil change will NOT be $21.95!

No where on the coupon does it say "$6.00 Value". Nor does it tell you there's an additional $10 labor fee! I don't appreciate the undisclosed charges or the misleading information.Desired Settlement: Discontinue the false advertisement.

Response:

I am responding to the advertising issues complaint. First of all, I need to apologize for the oversight on my part for not disclosing environmental and shop supply fees on the coupons. This was truly a mistake on my part for not catching this when proofing the advertisement before printing. I notified all of my print advertisers on this matter and it won’t happen again. This claim shows a disputed amount of 31.12 which actually should be 2.69. This refund would include the shop supply charge, recycling charge, and the tax paid. The customer did receive a tire rotation for 5.00 on the invoice. I would be very happy to refund the 2.69 and provide a 10.00 off coupon on the next purchase at Pomp's Tire Service for any inconvenience this may have caused. Again this was an oversight on my part. We pride ourselves in providing fair and honest pricing and would never intentionally do anything to cause doubt.
