18 years ago pool fection installed our inground pool. We recently called them back to put in a new liner and convert to salt water. The job was great and everyone we dealt with was professional.

Never use this company....They are full of lies and false promises!!

Review: CLICK on my name above for FULL REVIEW. We had our pool installed/completed by Poolfection in October 2014. During the process there were several issues with the [redacted] and his crew. Some of the more troubling of the issues are they don’t follow manufactures guidelines as it relates to plumbing and other very important issues. [redacted] has many engineers that work on their products so if they state something needs to be plumbed a certain way then that’s what needs to be done in order to avoid them not honoring their warranty. Well they plumbed the salt water generator in error which I didn’t realize until another pool professional pointed it out and they plumbed the pool pump incorrectly which he fixed begrudgingly prior to the install being completed. Also I contracted for a Heat Pump made by AqualCal the Heat pump retails for about $3800 well it was allegedly not available and he gave us a [redacted] heat pump which retails about $2600. Never did he offer to refund the difference in price between the two. His [redacted] is flat out rude. He wants to come onto your property without you questioning him or his crew as he shows no respect for your property or the fact that you are paying a lot of money for him to be on said project. In three weeks, Joe the [redacted] was on the job site no more than 2-3 hours. This is after he told my wife and I at contract signing that he would be there every day. Since October I had Pinto Pools (twice), [redacted] as well as Spectacular Pools at my home. Pinto Pools were there to fix the [redacted] pump and plumbing, as well as install a check valve for the Heat Pump that Poolfection failed to install as required by [redacted]. [redacted] were there to correct the flow switch for the Salt Generator, which they plumbed incorrectly. Spectacular Pools installed our Loop Loc cover. They all saw various errors with our pool construction. One of my skimmers is 1 inch higher than the other. The skimmers are in concrete so there's nothing we can do. Why is this important? Well the water level will always need to be higher in order for both skimmers do their jobs and the pump not to be compromised. There are other issues but for the sake of brevity I am excluding them. What prompted me to write this now? Well I believe in letting things go. However we recently were using the pool for the first time and noticed the last step which is formed out of concrete is pushing through the liner in several area causing sharp edges. This is a direct result of their negligence in forming a proper edge along the steps so the liner wouldn’t be compromised. On 5/**/15 we asked them to fix this and he replied that he might be able to come after July [redacted]. So this latest situation further proves their intentions are not honorable and they have no problem screwing hard working people over. He told me that he doesn’t want me to “[redacted] and we will need to wait upwards of 5 plus weeks for him to send someone to fix this issue. He said maybe I will get you in after July [redacted] weekend. No apology for the mess up or the costs to us or the fact that our daughters might get hurt or that a puncture to the liner is imminent? So I will be having another pool company fix at my cost for their labor, the new pool water (since the water level needs to be brought down 36 inches) and the cost of the chemicals. Very classless and unprofessional. It’s a shame that a family spends all this money for someone to do things against manufactures required guidelines and with pure neglect. Their negligence, lack of knowledge, lack of common sense and flat out rudeness is very telling. They had many opportunities to make right for all their wrongs but [redacted] and his company continues to take the wrong path. As I see it they owe us in excess of $2500 between the repairs and shorting us on the heat pump. Would he ever admit or take ownership to any of this even with all the independent proof otherwise?Desired Settlement: Refund the difference between the Heat pump we originally agreed to and what he gave us about $1200. Refund for the cost of the repairs to the pool equipment he incorrectly installed (against manufacturers required install guidlelines). Poolfection incorrectly installed the SWG system (not enough straight pipe), the Pool Heat Pump (no check valve before the Salt Water Generator. Also refund the cost to repair the concrete steps that are protruding through the vinyl liner because they failed to smooth out the steps and install proper padding. In sum, they owe us about $2500 as a result of their negligence/gross negligence.

Review: I contracted with [redacted] of poolfection in February to install an inground pool. The amount was $32,100. I paid him $30,700. He claims the job is done and wants his last $1400. The job is not complete. I have repeatedly asked him to grade the backyard as per our contract. He has not. I have repeatedly asked him to supply my pool cover and cleaning kit and all manuals. He has not. I have repeatedly asked him to fix the drywell he installed that does not work and floods my backyard and created a huge sink hole. He has not. He refuses to do so. Two days ago he came on my property when I was not home and stole my pool pump. My neighbor saw his guys. I called him and demand he return my pump that I paid for. He said "NOT UNTIL I GET PAID". I filed a police report for trespassing and theft. He still has not returned my pump even though I paid him for it. I told him many times I would pay his final $1400 when the job is complete and he fixes the problems. Now he has resorted to theft. My pool is turning green and cant be used without it. He claims that I called him and told him there was something wrong with the pump and to service it. This is a bold lie. I never ever ever called him and told him that. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my pump. He is a theif and a liar and I know he has done this scam before. He is taking advantage of a single mom.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the pool cover and the cleaning kit I never received. I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of $2500 to grade the backyard that he was supposed to do according to our contract. I want to be reimbursed for the cost to fix the drywell that never worked and to fix the sink hole. I need my pool pump back immediately.

Unless you have money to burn and the patience of a saint - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Spoke with a very nice salesman who assured us there would be no hidden costs, the quote was final, etc. etc. we signed a contract to have Pool Fection install our liner. Two months later, no liner and no date for the install. Office staff was unable to ever give me a date that it would be installed. Apparently, this company just pulls names out of a hat for the next job. Lo and behold - two months later our liner was delivered. Now we are told that we will be charged an additional amount of money (thousands) to take care of water that is under liner because we live close to the water. This was discussed with our salesman prior to signing the contract and he assured us no extra cost/no problems. As of today, our very nice salesman does not recall this conversation and does not have any answers for us.
I am now left with a pool liner that took me 8 weeks to get and no person to install this liner. Company is completely unreliable and staff is absolutely inconsiderate.

Terrible!!! Run don't walk away! Joe will sweet-talk you into a contract and once he has your deposit, you will hear lies, false promises, and BULLY tactics (I got a signed contract so I got you) when and if you hear from them. We contracted, with Joe, to replace our liner, but we fired him after he showed up unannounced, with an attitude, and left our pool half uncovered (a very unsafe condition with 3 children). My wife, a Neonatal Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital, and I were appalled by this. When I call him about it, he got angry at me a told me that "I wouldn't get my $1000 deposit back" and said he was "1000 percent sure of it!" A really classy guy...
Anywho, learn from our mistake and don't let this happen to you!
