I am writing out of concern of a local business who is not providing me a full refund for an event I had to cancel due to COVID19. I booked PopUptown at 1234 Broadway Columbus GA for Saturday April 18th. For $1560.00 to hold my Husbands 50th Surprise party. Overall I have spent at least $3000 for the event. I have lost all of that money and will not see any of it. I booked the event at PopUptown back in October 2019 when COVID 19 was not a thought in anyone's mind. The contract I signed with Jacy J owner of PopUp Events, states the $750 is non refundable deposit. She has stated that the business is suffering too, and that I can hold the event at a later date, or have another party. That is not acceptable to me. I would never hold another party that would cost that much. This was for a 50th birthday.
While I understand that everyone is suffering due to the COVID19, but she can also apply for the small business loan, whereas I cannot.
Is there anything that you can do to assist me in receiving a full refund? Please, I beg of your assistance as my husband is self employed, and we too need our money back. Thank you for any help and guidance you can provide.

Refund I am requesting a full refund of $1,560
We gave her a 50% refund. She signed a contract for a 50% non-refundable deposit- but we still told her she wouldn't lose her deposit and could move the event to another date.
She is complaining about us not giving her the non-refundable deposit that she signed a contract for and we still are holding for her, plus we did refund her the rest?
We've had numerous emails with her about this.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I signed the contract in October 2019. Planned this event prior to COVID19 existence. I am a US Army Beteran on a limited income and I planned this event so far in advance due to my finances, but wanted to have a large party for my husbands birthday. This issue is no fault of my own or the business. But I would appreciate a full refund in consideration of all aspects aforementioned. I would never hold an event like this ordinarily. I have no use for her space even in the future.
