When customer came in (he was with a second male at this time ) he was told $to scan and diagnosisThis is what we have charged since and can provided numerous copies of previous charges on this if neededA vehicle that is checked
but does NOT need scanned is $Customer had stated someone else had scanned it at which time he was told we do not use other peoples scansCustomer made an appointment and after scanning (code Pthis code is for the crankshaft position sensor circuit has low voltage) and checking the vehicle it was determined that the crankshaft position sensor was badA estimate was done and customer was called, as we do before proceeding with all repairsTotal for repairs was $which included the cost of diagnosticsAs per the breakdown for the estimate/repair a timing belt & water pump job was included, to do the job properly, because the timing belt has to be removed to replace the crankshaft position sensor and the water pump is timing belt driven and recommend when replacing a timing beltA new crank bolt was added to the estimate because these vehicles have issues with the crank bolts snapping off and it's not recommended to install the old boltAll of which was explained to the customerCustomer stated he did not have the money to do the repairs which was fine but was told again that whoever did the repairs to make sure they at the very least installed a new crank bolt so he didn't have bigger issues down the roadWhen customer came in to pay he was with the same male as before and immediately stated that he had called Kia and got a estimate on the fuel sensor and it was only X amount of dollars (don't remember what that amount was)He was told it wasn't a fuel sensor it needed, it needed a crankshaft position sensorWhen invoice was given customer started saying he was told $We explained he was never quoted $Both males left but when they returned sometime later only the second male came in but this time with a female who asked what the diagnosis wasWhen we started to explain to her it needed a crankshaft position sensor the male jerked the invoices off the counter (copies because we always make copies, for the customer and for our records) He then became belligerent and said that we were fixing to have problems and that we had lied to him and told him fuel sensor to begin withHe was told at no time did we tell anyone that it needed a fuel sensor that it had a bad crankshaft position sensor and that one of the copies of the invoice he was holding was ours at which time he handed it backNo female customer was ever holding the invoicesThe female paid the bill and both left the buildingAs they were leaving the male customer we had been speaking to in regards to the vehicle the entire time was driving off in the vehicleWe called a Kia dealership in Oklahoma, Ferguson Imports XXX-XXX-XXXX, you can call them to if you would likeWe deal with this dealership when ordering Kia parts as well as many other dealers in that area because they have a huge inventory and a truck that runs overnightTheir labor rate is $per hourThe guy we spoke to in service told us he showed hrs to do this job and they would replace the timing belt while they were in there because it has to come off to do the jobCrankshaft position sensor part #XXXXX-XXXXX cost $Timing belt cost is $Labor at $per hour x hours is Total price not including tax, didn't ask their tax rate, for the crankshaft position sensor, timing belt & labor $This price does not include the crankshaft bolt that needs replaced or the water pump which is recommendedAs for the comment made that we are "a fly by night garage" we have been in business for going on years and in that time have worked hard to establish a reputable name and have built up a large repeat business of loyal customersWe are also a part of the Certified Auto Repair program which members are asked to join based on reputation, integrity, qualifications and expertise
