Don't waste your time
Would not use this company if you paid me. Finally came and measured windows for hurricane glass quote, poof never heard from again! Called and left several messages, text, never responded. Guess they don't need customers! Glad I found out before hiring and giving a deposit. Beware people.

I have had new windows and doors from this company installed five years ago at a cost of approximately $60K.
Recently all of the doors have shown signs of rust and cracking of the seal used around the glass pane's. I contacted the owner on several occasions and he offered to have someone come and repair these issues. However, after numerous attempts to a response, he has failed to follow up with any further communication or repair of these issues.

Desired Outcome

Repair I believe that a product that was represented to be of superior quality, and with such a high cost, should not have deteriorated so badly after only five years. I believe that the finish on these doors was not done correctly to prevent rusting, and I would like all of the doors and windows to be repaired within a reasonable period of time.

Clients units were custom fabricated and hand painted per projects requirements, care and maintenance due to ocean proximity is required on a monthly basis.
Simple tasks of wiping/cleaning glass and metal surfaces along with lubricating moving parts extends the life of any product exposed to the elements.

The units installed do not have cover or overhang and are completely exposed to the sun and rain.

A maintenance visit was performed 3+ years ago, Door & Window systems were repainted and no further issues were reported until recently when homeowner texted
called and we had a pleasant conversation , I requested photos which were received approximately 2 weeks later, due to high volume of installations we requested the
homeowner give us some time to work a service call into the schedule. Had current issues been reported sooner we could have addressed it sooner avoiding current condition.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer's warranty expired 4 years ago, the units need to be re-sealed and re-painted we are very happy to service all their units at a nominal cost,
we have never negated service just required more time to add to our techs route - this project requires at least three days to be repaired and repainted.

I contacted Portal Elegance on numerous occasions to have the defects corrected. I was told by *** that these doors had a lifetime warranty. Not to mention I am 1 mile from the ocean! If the local climate is not compatible with these doors then why do they offer this type of door to consumers in Florida! *** was sent photo on several occasions. He did not respond to my original message with photos and after a couple of weeks I resent them. He refuses to return my calls. I have has several painters come to inspect the defects with the workmanship on these doors and all were surprised with the quality on this workmanship by Portal Elegance. Mr. pretends to have too much business to come and survey the damage here. In reality he refuses to respond or that responsibility. Please tell me when further recourse I have with the Revdex.com and this vendor. Thank you, Mr.

We do not have any records of any prior contact attempts by Mr.

The last phone call and text we received from him was on Friday 2/14/2020 in which we asked to send us pictures so that we could see what the issues where and how we could be of assistance.

He sent Pictures via Text on Saturday 2/15/2020

Prior to that date the last communications we have a record for was on September 24, 2016 at that time we were coordinating a service call in progress which was done to the customer's satisfaction. We never heard back from Mr. until Feb 14, 2020 (3-1/2 years later) via phone call, text and subsequent photos. This was the only time we received a text with 3 photos showing the damage on one of the doors. we have not received ANY more or additional pictures or information regarding the current situation of his doors.

We do not have any records of missed calls or communications from Mr., we are not refusing service, as you know we were hit with a pandemic and orders to shelter at home and our operations went to 10% of our normal day to day.

Further more, we do not have life-time warranty on ANY of our products, we have never had it or offered it, Mr. is mistaken. We provided a written warranty from the Manufacturer who fabricated his units where it was indicated that the warranty on the paint was only for 1 to 2 years depending on the product.

He was never promised life-time warranty neither in verbal nor written form. these doors are hand-made and hand painted and require constant maintenance as well as clear communication at the first sign of damage, Mr *** waited 3-1/2 years to contact us demanding immediate service

We never refused to review and service his units, we were in the process of scheduling a visit when COVID-19 hit and unfortunately it was him who decided to go through your route rather than calling us.

As always we are here for all our clients and we would like to help him restore his units but from the pictures we can see that the units were neglected for several years and unfortunately they are also out of warranty and the manufacturer will not accept any responsibility in this matter.

I have not heard from portal Elegance as to any kind of resolution. These doors are not even 5 years old. They did have to fix them once because they are problematic. I don't understand why the sale a product to a Florida climate if they believe that this cannot withstand the climate and environment.

Portal Elegance Response • May 04, 2020

As we mentioned before these doors were neglected, very high salt concentration in the air will damage almost anything that is not properly cleaned regularly
Client should have contacted us at the first sign of rust or paint being compromised so that we could address, not 3-1/2 years later.

Warranty has ran out but we will contact the customer and come to an agreement so that their doors do not suffer any further damage.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have not been contacted at all since my very original conversation with Portal Elegance. They have not made any attempt to get in touch with me, which leads me to believe that are very upset that I reported them to Revdex.com.
Also, as I have discussed this issue with many neighbors, I live one mile from the ocean and we, myself and my neighbors, don't experience any effects of salt air as one might if they lived on the beach. Plus, the area in question is an interior atrium, which is not exposed to the elements as one might imagine.
Since I have not heard form portal Elegance at all, I cannot even consider their proposal to correct this problem.
I have since contacted a painter contractor to repair these damages. I don't trust Portal Elegance, and very unhappy with their lack of response, and was hopeful that reporting them to the Revdex.com would lead to a more effective result. I don not accept their resolution, since there has not been one, and my wish is that this matter be investigated further by your bureau. Once again, simple logic, how can a company sale a faulty product, such as these doors which rusted and cracked, and then say it is from the effects of the local environment. In my opinion, then don't sale these doors in Florida. I spent over $60K on these doors and windows, and they are not even 5 years old! I feel totally taken advantage of from this experience!
That is my response. Thank you!
Mr.
