I went back with my old phone and left it with them for a week and a half and told them they had to solve it by the time that was up or I would be taking more serious actions
When I went back to pick it up, he admitted that they had never worked on this type of phone beforeHad they told me that, I never would have enlisted their services.
They seem to have worked something out with my phone and I believe it will act as a functional back up for the phone I was forced into buyingI am not 100% sure though because the phone is not activated due to my having a newer phoneThe voice recording does work and the sensor works for the time being, though that was the case before and it quickly became problematic again.
I believe that this ordeal deserves a refund for the service as the time frame forced me to pay even more in addition to their charges in order to function on a daily basis.

Review: I came to Portatronics to replace a cracked screen on my android phone.

I was wary of their set up and read their policies and confirmed with them that if, in replacing my screen, they caused other damage to my phone, they were responsible for the damage and would fix or replace my phone.

I was quoted $158 and 2 hours for the repair. I paid half of the amount as a deposit (with tax it amounted to $86.01)

When the part came in, I dropped off my phone (February [redacted]) and returned 2.5 hours later to find that the agent I was working with had left and the man fixing it said that he refused to stay and finish it because the man who quoted me had underquoted both the fee and the amount of time to fix it. He also said that the phone is complicated and he did not understand why the manufacturer had created it in such a way and revealed that he didn't know how to do the repair and he would need more time.

I pleaded with him and he stayed to work on it but we discovered that I could no longer place calls without the screen going black and becoming unusable. I took it for the time being so I would not be without a phone.

The next day I came back and dropped it off and got an email saying it was ready to be picked up.

When I came back the same problem still existed. There was a new man there who tried to fix it and it still was not back to normal operation. He kept trying to convince me that the fixes he was doing were "good enough," but I repeatedly told him that I considered this damaging the phone and that they were responsible.

While I was there TWO other patrons came in, furious, because they too had had their things damaged or returned with the part in question repaired but other elements broken, defective or in different condition than when they dropped it off.

The man said the best thing to do would be to wait til the coming monday (which would be 5 days after the original due date) when the man who originally worked on the phone would be back at work. Furious, I asked him what he considers irreparable damage or how many times of trial and error or pushing back the deadline it would take until they took responsibility, as they agreed they held themselves accountable for, replacing the device since they could not repair it. He said that they take responsibility for the damage and hold themselves accountable for fixing it, but they do not hold themselves to any sort of timeline and that it would be trial and error.

In other words, the man, in my understanding, admitted to me that they never have to admit that it is not fixable and that they could spend as much time as they wanted "fixing" the device and requiring me to give up my phone and repeatedly come back to them. I told them that I would have never accepted their services if I knew this.

He continued to work on it and we got to a stand still over whether it was done or not. I told him I would need to take the phone home and work with it for a few days to determine if the problems were solved once and for all, but that I was wary of giving him the final payment before that was determined. He offered me $30 off the bill to compensate for the extra time - and since I had no other option to determine if it was fixed other than take it home with me - I paid another $53.35 with tax.

It is now two days later and the phone is having the same problems AND my microphone doesn't work - so the phone is wholly unusable.

I see no end to this loop and cannot afford to give up my phone repeatedly and without guarantee because my job requires me to be reachable by phone and email - which they have rendered me unable to do.

As a result, I just had to purchase a new phone at retail value for a total of $789.34 ($725 pre-tax).

If I had a phone that would last me until I could receive an upgrade at the end of March, the total cost of a new phone would have been only $275 +tax.Desired Settlement: I would like, at VERY LEAST, refund for their services ($139.36) as they did not honor the contract and tried to find loopholes in wording as this has resulted in my not being able to do my job, which forced me to buy a new phone at exorbitant retail prices.

Ideally (and fairly) - I think they should ALSO pay me for the $450 (+tax) difference in what my new phone would have cost if I could have held out for the upgrade that will be available to me in a month and a half.

Review: On October **, 2015, I contacted Portatronics via their website and paid $15.95 for a "GPS Diagnostic Fee" . They immed emailed me back and stated: "For repair services, please ship your device to: portatronics, Inc.

[redacted]. If you have questions feel free to email us at [redacted] or call [redacted].

On October **, I mailed them my Magellan Maestro GPS (together with charging lead) and on October **, I received a call from Mike (###-###-####) who "seemed" very nice telling me he need $59 (via Pay Pal) to repair the port so I paid the $59. I have emailed Megan and Mike several times asking them where my Maestro GPS is but I have heard nothing from them! Honestly...I'm in absolute shock that these people can operate like this!!!Desired Settlement: Return of my Magellan Maestro GPS and full refund of my $74.95 charges because no work was done on my Magellan which they still have!!!!

Review: I send to repair my Garmin Nuvi 2797 because the LDC Screen was broken and didn't work. My orden # was [redacted] I paid 49.99 + 6.95 of shipping. A day after I received a call saying that it didn't include the labor of repair and that I had to pay another 29.95. So I did since I already have send them the item. On August *, 2015 I received the Garmin GPS with a used scratched screen and the touch does not work. So I am in the same situation that it does not work. So I called the the answer that I received was to send it back and the will diagnosis it again and will charge me because it's another situation. My God I sent won that was not working for one the will work. This does not make any sense at all. With what I paid and the extra that they wanted me to pay I would have both a new one and had money left over. THESE PEOPLE ARE A SCAM DO NOT EVEN BOTHER TO LOOK THEM UP COMPLETE FROUD.Desired Settlement: I will like to claim my money back these people are frauds and scammers they have no guarantees in there work.

Review: I had emailed [redacted] back in late December **,2012 in hopes to sell my used AUGEN ereader

tablet, which he agreed to pay by paypal $10 for it before the New Year. I sent it out

the [redacted] and was verified by usps it was sent out January [redacted]2014. I told [redacted] by email I

did not have paypal at the time. We had some waiting and omar was kind and did answer

emails most of the time per his schedule.

I have not received any checks or money order by mail as he had promised me he would mail

it. He received my address by email a number of times. I since the first item I mailed

him the Augen device he promised to pay me the 10.00 last month. I emailed him about

another device my Pandigital Novel device which he has not paid me for as I thought he

wanted to buy it. So I shipped it out to him. He received it recently and did not hear

from him for several weeks. [redacted] seems to think he can con me.

[redacted] said the device wifi did not work. It did for me. Everything was working except a

slight crack in the screen before I mailed it to him. I realize now I was foolish to mail

it to him and was ripped off $10 for the Augen he promised to pay me for.

The Pandigital he said would mail back to me. I have not received anything from email. He

has not kept up with me by email or never seemed concerned if I was paid or not for the

first item.

[redacted] lost my trust. I have lost respect for his company.Desired Settlement: I would like for him to pay me for the Augen and return or pay me 10 for the Pandigital.

Thanks
