Review: Portico did a very nice job on our reception but it was Bait and Switch from the beginning in terms of pricing. We ended up paying 2x what we originally were led to believe we would pay.First he said it was $225 for a deposit to hold the time/date. He sends me the receipt for my credit card and apparently it says "site charge" and billed me 225+tax. The email confirms it's a deposit but after the event he says it's a "fee" and isn't refundable or applicable to the bill.Second he said that we can order from the appetizer or dinner menu as much or as little as we'd like and just tell him 1 week in advance. 3 weeks before the event he says it's per person at $30-34 pp but delays giving us the final estimate until 1 week before the event and its too late to make a change to another venue.Finally we agree by phone to have wine, beer and champagne alcoholic beverages only using only preapproved brand/bottles and NO hard alcohol. Instead he opens the bar to our guests and charges $68 for drinks (cocktails and wine) that we did not approve.Desired Settlement: I'm unhappy with the entire bait and switch approach. We decided to go along with the $33 pp fee though it was sprung on us at the last minute but we do feel he needs to return our deposit of $236.33 and $68 for drinks we did not authorize.
