To whom it may concern; ? We received a complaint from a customer looking for reimbursement on some work done here in our shop? I would like to state that we never heard of the issues that the car had from the client, if we were aware of the issue in the tuning we would have fixed the issue with a follow up tune for free Furthermore, the customer signed off on our legal paperwork before his dyno tuning session, twiceThe agreed to terms that were signed off on by the customer are as stated directly below; “I hereby authorize and release the above dynamometer test and or service work to be done along with the necessary materials, parts and labor and hereby grant PSI and its employees and representatives permissions to operate the above vehicle herein elsewhere for the purpose of testingI hereby acknowledge and voluntarily release and forever discharge Portland SPEED Industries, their employees, representatives and directors from any and every claim, demand and action or right of action of whatever kind of nature, either in law or in equity, arising from or by reason on any result from the releaser use of dynamometer test equipmentThis release in which constitutes willful, wanton or reckless acts by Portland Speed IndustriesThis release also includes but is not limited to any claim against Portland Speed Industries for first aid, medical treatment, or services rendered during participation in the above described test of this vehicle.“ ? He also signed our Work order and release from liability form as well I have attached the signed documents by the customer Again, if we were aware of the issue we would have fixed the issueWe do not feel that we should be held responsible for the issue the customers shop thinks they found and fixed from something they think we missed ? Please review the documents and advise us on our steps to fighting this claim? Thank you, ? Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: 1) Megan states "a car". I own a truck.  Does she know the vehicle I'm complaining about?  2) "never heard about a complaint".  I complained directly to Jason. Did she talk to him about my complaint? 3) If she was aware of a complaint they "would have fixed the issue with a follow up tune for free". My first  appointment was on 11/3/16.  I told Jason my air fuel gauge was reading too rich 10:1.  Jason responded "don't pay attention to those gauges.  They'll drive you crazy."  Second appointment was made on 11/21/16 because I complained and was charged an additional $380.00. if I hadn't complained I wouldn't have needed to return the truck for a second time. I have my own mechanic in ST.HELENS OR for other issues. Upon delivery Jason told me an o2 sensor was bad. This is the component they use to frame tune. With a bad sensor the first job was probably flawed. After driving the vehicle the gauge was still too rich at 12:1. After Jason had 2 chances to get it right, I sought out a second opinion. The second frame dyno company said they " found closed loop fueling strategy disabled in PCM calibration." They initially stated "its running rich as a pig". Now my air fuel ratio is 15:1 and by the way runs fantastic. Originally I was quoted $1200.00 the final bill was $2949.52 which I paid check #4717 . The second appointment I was charged $380.00 which I also paid check #4730. A week later I called Megan to tell her the check had not cleared and was told she'd tell Jason. Another week and it still hadn't cleared. I called and talked to Jason. He said it had fallen behind a desk and he'd take it to the bank. After I filed this complaint on 3/17/17 I put a stop payment on check # 4730 on 3/29/17 in the amount of $380.00 . My original complaint asked for $540.00 that I paid the second company minus $380. =$160 to make me whole. This does not reimburse me for the additional time and gas to drive to PSI a second time nor does it pay me time and mileage to the second company.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
