Sorry for the delay in responding to this complaint, I was on vacation last week. *** *** vehicle did receive an alignment and adjustments to the toe in both front and rear were made (see attached printout)It takes a minimum of thirty minutes to retrieve the car
and take the run out necessary to see what adjustments need to be made to the vehicle, THEN make the adjustments, so minutes is not correct or possible. As for the quoted $59.95, we tell all of our customers that our alignments start at $with a possible $if we have to adjust both front and rearWhen a vehicle is brought into us for alignment we provide a print out and adjust what is needed to do the alignment correctly. As for the claim that we told him he need struts is incorrect, he was told that the camber has no adjustments ( see attachment ) and that different struts would possibly improve the vehicles camberThe technician new *** ***r had installed new struts. We are in the repair business, Our technicians are commission based so if the vehicle needed rear ball joints we would have required it to do the alignmentIt is not uncommon for a competitive repair shop to claim that another repair shop did not do work correctly. A disgruntled customer is very receptive to this garbage. When I spoke to *** *** he complained that we made no adjustments to his vehicle, I showed him the alignment printout showing adjustments to toe in both front and rear*** *** then stated that his vehicle still pulled to the right. I offered to rotate the front tires at no charge to see if the pull could be tire relatedRadial tire pull is common, normally diagnosed by rotating the front tires to see if it stops the pull or pulls the opposite wayThis is not an alignment related problem. *** *** * *** *** DBA Glotfelty Tire center (Bridgeport) does an average of alignments every month, I am proud of the job our technicians due and have confidence that every alignment is done right. After he refused to let us rotate the front tires, I cheerfully refunded his money as requestedI do believe that his complaining was a way to get a free alignment and that was his plan all along. Glotfelty Tire Center has been here for years, we do not do "sloppy work" or "scam" our customersOur many happy repeat customers are proof of that. Shame on you *** *** * Sincerely, Joel Baird Sr.Proud Manager of,Glotfelty Tire centerBridgeport WV

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I decline this offer because 1. This should have been offered to me when I was there. 2. This would mean I give them more money. 3. If the tech were a true expert he should have been able to eyeball a dark tint. 4. I asked a few other inspectors who said they inform of grave violations before the inspection. 5. The charge was excessive and no true expert needs a machine to see a 9 percent tint. 6. I already went elsewhere to a friendlier business and they charged me $75 only. 7. I remember what I heard and the person who checked me out did not tell me about the 1k miles or to read any fine print so I still believe this was bad business practice. See number 2. I specifically asked about another $100 fee and that was the time to make this offer.  The bottom line is my windows were very dark and to anyone in [redacted] in the inspection industry it would be as obvious as a muffler dragging on the ground. To choose to run the inspection 5 days before Christmas and not make it clear to me about the 1k miles is simply bad business and bad customer service and no amount of distraction about [redacted] law is going to convince me otherwise.
Regards,
[redacted]
