Horrible experience, the worst customer service I've ever experienced! I booked a tour in Thailand, paid with a credit card, but when our plans fell through and I tried to cancel, they were inaccessible by email or telephone After about 6-weeks of calling, never got a response to my emails, I talked to a real person who said they would mail me a refund check, but could not credit my Visa, but after waiting about months for that check, I called the bank which did a dispute and reimbursed my Visa I'm hoping the bank went after PortTrips; they are fraudulent as far as I'm concerned Stick with [redacted] for tours and save yourself a major headache! PortTrips doesn't deserve to be in business

Horrible experience, the worst customer service I've ever experienced! I booked a tour in Thailand, paid with a credit card, but when our plans fell through and I tried to cancel, they were inaccessible by email or telephone. After about 6-8 weeks of calling, never got a response to my emails, I talked to a real person who said they would mail me a refund check, but could not credit my Visa, but after waiting about 4 months for that check, I called the bank which did a dispute and reimbursed my Visa. I'm hoping the bank went after PortTrips; they are fraudulent as far as I'm concerned. Stick with [redacted] for tours and save yourself a major headache! Review: This is the first time I have had to leave a negative review for anything, but I want to foreworn people so they will not be scammed like we were. The company is PORT TRIPS INTERNATIONAL, and they are located in [redacted]. They supposedly arrange shore excursions in many ports around the world. We had booked and paid for an excursion for 7 people in Olden, Norway. We got off the ship about 10 minutes early, but there was no one there for our excursion. Since we were early we waited patiently for about 20 min. No one ever showed. We also went outside the very small port to see if there were any vans on the road nearby. We tried calling the [redacted] provided on our documents, which turned out to be disconnected (this is still the number they give on their website). We tried calling the other number for the NY office, but an answering machine came on saying that the voice mail was “almost full, could not take a message, to try again later”. We tried a dozen times over the next hour. They had claimed they have 24 hour service??. We also tried a local number that was on the voucher, but have no idea what it really was, since an answering machine came on in Norwegian. After an hour and a half of fruitless attempts, we gave up and did something else. We emailed the company from the ship that night explaining the problem, of course no reply. Since returning home we have emailed several times, called many times and left messages, but no one has even bothered to reply to us. We finally pursued a refund through the credit card company. We were on an [redacted] cruise, and even though this was not an [redacted] excursion, we mentioned the experience to the concierge, and she asked to see our paperwork. When she saw the name of the company she said that she had heard nothing but negative things about Port Trips International, and she has them on a list of companies to avoid. Lesson learned.Desired Settlement: Refund
