Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/05/18) */
On May 2nd This customer brought her 2002 Toyota Highlander in for grinding noise from the front end and air conditioning not working. She also had her warranty papers.
[redacted] gave her a quote for left hub bearing 119.30 & labor 2.5 $175.00. ...

Totaling 294.30 plus shop supplies and taxes. We also checked the other hub which at that time had no play in it. Her warranty said they would supply the part and we would receive it within a couple of days she would owe the deductible plus and taxes and shop supplies and they only cover 2 hours labor. Our labor guide we charge is 2.5 hours.
The air conditioning was a temperature actuator not working which she declined to fix.
She took her car since the warranty company was sending the part. She was called
Thursday 5th and no respond and then called Monday the 9th with still no return call. She then came in on MAY 16th to have the hub replaced. She now had drove her car 184 miles. After replacing the hub on the left side the other one was making noise. We called the warranty company and they stated since she took her car and didn't return within 2 weeks it would not be covered under the same ticket.
The left hub was making such loud grinding noise that we were unable to find any other noise.
Unfortunately we were unable to tell if the other hub was bad. If she would have left the vehicle this would have been covered by warranty . This is her warranty policy not ours.
We always advice customers not to drive their vehicles with this type of problem, it could do more damage.
I do have her receipt because she left mad and didn't wait on it. There was also a $7.38 difference in the total which I have issued her a check. Warranty didn't charge sales tax. I wish she would contact the warranty company which I know they deal with this all the time. Knowing bearings can go out at any time.
I will not refund the deductible, this was for the left hub bearing to be replaced that was agreed on by the 1st visit on May 2nd and approved by the warranty company.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/05/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
according to what they say I needed to have my vehicle repaired within 2 weeks for warranty to cover it ,well if they had fixed both like they should have on the 16th it would have been covered , I also did return their call before the 2 weeks were up
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2016/05/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
first of all the noise I heard originally when we test road it was from the right side not the left, I was not informed that my vehicle needed to sit at the shop for days waiting on a part , in fact Kevin told me it was alright to drive it. As far as customer satisfaction, well there are ALOT of people who have said that they have done this to them also. I did call when I got home and talked to [redacted] and the phone was hung up on me
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2016/05/31) */
Please contact your warranty
Cars Warranty [redacted] Ext [redacted] We have spoke to them asking if they would help her, they have everything documented and the signed agreement how her warranty works. They stated we handled it correctly and her signed warranty explains how this works.
