From: [redacted] Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2015 3:54 PMTo: Kelly MaceCc: [redacted]Subject: Response to letterImportance: HighDear Ms. Mace and [redacted], First let me apologize for any misunderstandings that may have arisen from this situation....

I wanted to let you know what has been done to achieve a mutually beneficial desired outcome for everyone. Ms. [redacted] was listed as financial POA and that was the reason for the letters being sent. They are sent not by the Brian Center Lexington, but instead by our billing and collections office located in Baltimore. Bills will go out whether $.01 or $1,000,000 is owed on a residents account and someone who is listed as POA for a resident automatically gets copied on the bill. I have rectified this at the facility and your name has been removed as POA and the Baltimore office notified, so as to prevent further letters being sent. We have made every effort to assure Ms. [redacted] receives no statements and nothing will be put on her credit report as a result of anything from the Brian Center. There may be another bill sent for April, so please just disregard. The nursing home cannot process a Medicaid redetermination if it does not have all the information. The resident did not give the facility bank statements it needed or proof of account closure for the Medicaid office to proceed with redetermination of Medicaid benefits. Thankfully, Ms. [redacted] stepped in and handled this for us. The Medicaid has been approved, billed and will retro back to December to cover residents accrued expenses.   The facility did have the funds of the resident, however the resident deceased and the accounts payable department out of Houston had to reissue a check to estate of the resident. This check was sent to the clerk of court in Davidson county for disbursement.  If you have any questions, I am always accessible via cell phone or email. Thank you! Josh  Joshua R.
