Review: After questioning high FEdEx shipping rates I later found out that they price gouged at more that 100% markup. I even questioned why it was so expensive up front, they replied that it was the Fed Ex charge was leading me to believe that there was little or no markup. When later confronted with the situation the clerk lied about what she relayed to me that day.Desired Settlement: The lwas should be changed with respect to how they can hide their upcharges. The fact that they have a surcharge should be listed in writing or signage at their store/site.

Good Morning

I am responding to the complaint from a Mr. [redacted]. My manager has had several conversations with him along with emails. His shipment was sent to a business where the business was going to reimburse him for the shipment. We were told that the recipient refused to pay him anymore than $50 for that is what the charge should have been according to the recipient and the FedEx website. This is where the problem began and where Mr. [redacted] became upset with our fees and service.

He has been advised that we are a retail location offering UPS/FEDEX/DHL/USPS services at a retail markup. Everything in our brick and morter has a retail markup. We have been in business now for over 20 years and locations like ourselves have been around for over 26 years. We are a franchise setting our own margins and we currectly own 6 locations. My manager did a fine job helping him understand this but he wanted no part of it other than getting a $50 refund. Now apparently he wants a "sign" placed in our location that we "have a surcharge." As our Corporate office, Annex Brands Inc, told him "Does [redacted]'s tell you what their mark up is"?

On another note: It is very important when people are using a quote system with FedEx that the correct information is placed in the sytem to make sure that they are comparing apples with apples. In this case he placed 30 pounds with dimensions at 22x22x13. In actuality the package was 23x23x15 weighing 34 pounds BUT with the dimensions it took the shipment to a dimensional weight of 48 pounds. This would have given him a quote of $61.62 not the $51.75 that he shows on his attachment. We charged him based on theses dimensions and 48 pounds. My manager was not even able to discuss this with him. He truely needs to go back to the recipient that has his tire and get his money from him.

His emails were very caustic, threatening and he has informed us that he will make it "his personal crusade to let everyone he comes in contact with know about our deceptive and gouging business practice" and told us "to go back to screwing poeple"! I find this behavior unacceptable for a grown man to take with a young female manager of 24 years old. We work very hard with our customers to offer great customer service, we are the Top Franchisee in the PostalAnnex system and have even recieved "International Franchisee of the year". We were not bestowed these honor year after year for "deceiving the public" but because of our great customer service.

We will not be placing a sign in our location that we have a surcharge nor will we be giving him a refund as has been explained to him.

Mr. [redacted] is not welcome in our locations in the future.
