[redacted] , Here is my response to this; I was contacted by the client who was referred to me by another organization The client was in need of an intervention and a recommendation for a treatment program which focused on issues with failure to launch, mental health issues, and substance abuse Very few programs can treat all of those effectively so I made a recommendation of a provider The provider actually negotiated the rate for the intervention I did not The rate is an actual discounted rate I usually charge dollars plus expenses My responsibility was to meet with the family, determine a treatment plan, and using my skills as an interventionist provide reasons for going to treatment for the identified patient All of which occurred Her son agreed to go to treatment, I took him to the facility and the client was doing well until his mother started interfering with his treatment plan The client stayed in treatment for month My job was to get the client to agree to go to treatment and get him into treatment Both of which occurred successfullyI am not responsible for the outcome of the treatment experience I was actually terribly surprised when she called and was complaining I initially offered to refund her some of the money back because she seemed so desperate but not because of anything I didn’t do primarily because I felt sad for herAfter some deliberation I decided not to refund the money because the service I provided was completed professionally and exceptionally I have numerous recommendations and can provide documentation of exceptional service

health issues, and substance abuse.  Very few programs can treat all of those effectively so I made a recommendation of a provider.  The provider actually negotiated the rate for the intervention.  I did not.  The rate is an actual discounted rate.  I usually charge 5500 dollars plus expenses.  My responsibility was to meet with the family, determine a treatment plan, and using my skills as an interventionist provide reasons for going to treatment for the identified patient.  All of which occurred.  Her son agreed to go to treatment, I took him to the facility and the client was doing well until his mother started interfering with his treatment plan.  The client stayed in treatment for 1 month.  My job was to get the client to agree to go to treatment and get him into treatment.  Both of which occurred successfully. I am not responsible for the outcome of the treatment experience.  I was actually terribly surprised when she called and was complaining.  I initially offered to refund her some of the money back because she seemed so desperate but not because of anything I didn’t do primarily because I felt sad for her. After some deliberation I decided not to refund the money because the service I provided was completed professionally and exceptionally.  I have numerous recommendations and can provide documentation of exceptional service.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I feel that my desperate circumstances were taken advantage of by [redacted].  I am deep in a financial hole because of treatment fees and the fee for Potential Behavioral Health adds to this huge financial burden.  I am a single mother and do not earn what private clients in the New York City area earn.
Frankly, $3400 is an exhorbitant fee for the services rendered.  Three times by phone [redacted] said he would refund my money.  He said there was a check in the mail, but apparently that was untrue.  He also alleges that I interferred with my son's treatment.  My son and I communicated by cell phone, which he was allowed to have at the Breathe program, and this is the alleged interference.  My son did not need to attend this program, as the services he requires are available at the [redacted] Early Treatment program under my insurance.  This would have been a much more appropriate placement as he is dealing with psychosis.  The clients at [redacted] are primarily dealing with eating disorders and substance abuse.  For somone in the business of helping people in crisis, I would think that some  compassion would be shown.  My son is really struggling, and having this financial burden adds to the burden on the family.  I can understand a reasonable fee of $500.00 for services, but $3900 is--simply put--taking advantage.  Especially after promising me three times that the refund was on the way, I believe [redacted] should refund the fee, less $500 for services.

Review: Potential Behavioral Health Advisors' [redacted] charged an exhorbitant fee for a referral to a program that was not suitable for my son. He took advantage of my desperate attempt to get help for my son who was abandoned by his father over ten years ago. The program referred was helpful in limited areas, but not geared for my son's problems. I am a single mother in a very vulnerable situation. I offered [redacted] some compensation for his services, but he refused to make even a partial refund of the $3,900 he charged to find the program (1-2 days), come to my home for about an hour for intervention , and take my son from home to the program, which was about one hour away. There was no written contract. When I called him, he said he would make a full refund. He did not and is ignoring my phone calls and e-mails. I was extremely hurt and shocked at his lack of compassion and lack of professionalism. Who tells a client they are sending a refund and then sends nothing?!Desired Settlement: I'd like a refund of the $3,900 I paid [redacted] immediately.
