the credit card processor. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by our credit card processor.
Given the increased security regarding credit card transactions, there is a specific protocol the processors use to handle situations such as this transaction. According to our contact with the card processor, the day of the transaction at our store, there was a software change-over that affected not only this transaction, but several others nation-wide. It is our understanding that this high volume of errors is the cause for the longer than expected delay.
This is the first time this problem has ever occurred at our business, and hopefully the last.
Again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience and it is our understanding that the money is due back in Mr [redacted]'s account any day now.

I finally received the refund on Aug. 27, 20 days after the double-charge, only because I fought and made it happen. I must have placed at least a dozen phone calls with no satisfaction.Had I not pushed the issue and filed a complaint, I would have never received the refund, as it came from Pottstown's POS provider, NOT the Credit Card processor. I would say this issue is really not resolved, however I received my refund through an in-conventional process.There are probably many others out there that will go w/o a proper refund.
