I have called THREE times to ask them to stop delivery. I was tired of having them charge a different amount each month and so I cancelled. Why do I keep calling? They keep charging my credit card. I would prefer NO stars, but I couldn't submit that way
For over a year I have been dealing with deliver issues. The representatives that have spoken to are from all the USA. I was told to put a paper box on the house. Did. The deliver person would deliver to the box. NOT YET. Today it is raining and the paper is no were in sight. Another representative told us that the delivery person does not get out of the car. They will get it to the porch if that was acceptable. That they can't do either. I do not want to read my paper on the computer. We are a transit couple. The paper copy works best. Since the the Poughkeepsie Journal moved to Westchester the delivery Sinks. But its the only game in town. Mary Galyon

Review: I received a bill today November *, 2013 in the amount of $24.84. I cancelled my subscription on 8/*/2013 and have not received the newspaper or any contact since. Back in August I received multiple phone calls asking me to keep my subscription, offering me upgrades and offering a hold on my account as a solution. I refused and asked my account be cancelled. I was told that my account would be cancelled when I made my final payment for the balance due. Even after this contact I kept receiving calls and had to repeatedly ask them to stop calling me. I immediately wrote a check for the full amount due of $23.52 and sensing that they would not properly process the cancellation even then, I wrote FINAL PAYMENT on the check. They cashed this check. I called customer service today speaking to [redacted] then [redacted] the Manager to resolve this. They told me their calls are time stamped and recorded and I NEVER spoke with anyone with regards to my cancellation and that I probably talked to a telemarketer. I was also told I have been getting delivery of the newspaper which I HAVE NOT! I was told that I entered into a new contract by paying my bill and because I didn't call again I didn't cancel!!! I was also told it would take up to 2 weeks to get an answer back regarding this fraudulent bill and THEY WILL NOT CALL ME due to staffing issues!!! I will have to call them back and was told I will still likely have to pay the bill! The initial reason I cancelled was because I was not consistently receiving my paper. Living in a condo building it could have been someone taking my paper or non delivery. But to receive a 3 month bill for something I never received nor asked for is ridiculous.Desired Settlement: I want this new bill of $24.84 waived and I never want to be contacted by the [redacted] Journal again after this is resolved. This includes ALL their departments including customer service and Telemarketing.

Review: This newspaper repeatedly advertises a discount rate that is good for a number of months. They provide the service and bill at the advertised rate for a couple of months, but then reverts to the regular rate (undiscounted) before the promised time period is up. It is set up on credit card automatic billing so the customer does not realize that they are being charged the higher amount. They also promise to deliver newspapers for additional days at no charge to get you to sign up for automatic billing but then does not deliver the promised papers.Desired Settlement: I was incorrectly charged $12 per month from March through May and I should have been charged $7 per month. I expect a refund in the amount of $15. I was also promised Friday through Sunday delivery at no extra charge but I have not received the papers as promised. I would like the Poughkeepsie Journal to follow through and delivery these papers.

Review: P'k Journal has failed to eliminate, stop billing and apply credit for a second subscription for the same person, to the same address despite numerous calls (at least 3 agents) PLUS sending hard copes of bills, PLUS sending expensive FAX of bills. My mother was being billed for her old subscription and for a new subscription (she wanted to upgrade to daily) but she NEVER EVER got a daily paper. At least 2 agents we talked to were useless and could not figure out why there were 2 subscriptions, they insisted she send copies of her bills, which she did. My mother NEVER got confirmation that either the hard copies sent by mail nor the FAXs were received and there was no resolution, the bills kept coming for both subscriptions. I ([redacted], her daughter) did speak to a representative who finally figured out that one subscription was going to [redacted] and the second one was going to [redacted]. She said she took care of the problem, that was at least a month ago. Today my mother got a bill for 3 months worth of the P'k Journal for that duplicate wrong address!!!!!Desired Settlement: 1. ALL billing for [redacted] must be credited and eliminated. There must be no outstanding charges. The paper has been cancelled for a month now, even for the correct address, everything is paid up. The credit card was cancelled because P'k Journal just would not stop billing her. No daily paper was ever delivered and there is no lobby or central spot for that paper to be delivered.

Review: I received an email ad from them to subscribe and get $50 in gift cards. I subscribed and paid in full for the specified time period and did not get the gift cards. I called customer service several times requesting it and was told they would look into it and get back to me which they never did. I called again asking for status and they said they would put in a request for the gift card and I would get it in ten days which did not happen. When I called again and I asked to speak with a supervisor and they claimed none was available at the time and one would call me back between 24 to 48 hrs. which they never did. I just cancelled my subscription today because of this but I already satisfied the requirements for the gift cards.Desired Settlement: I would like to get $50 gift cards.

Review: Over the past several months they have contacted us to renew our previous subscription. After the first few phone calls we politely asked that they stop contacting us. They apologized and said they would make a note in their system. After 12 requests over 3 months, we still receive phone calls about renewing our subscription.Desired Settlement: We would like to no longer be contacted by any of their sales personal.

Review: I was receiving the sunday newspaper for some time. At one point my credit card linked to the account had changed. I started to receive paper bills that I owed a balance. I paid that off and in the correspondence I explained I wanted to cancel the sunday paper delivery Due to financial reasons .
I would then receive the sunday paper sporadically after that. Then the paper called my husband and said we owe for the deliveries, he explained that we canceled the delivery. They claim they never received the cancellation. So we still received sporadic delivery of the sunday paper and now a bill claiming I own for these deliveries. I contacted them again and said I never signed up to resume paper delivery, I want this to stop and I refuse to pay this. I paid what I owed prior to them resuming delivery. The took it upon themselves to reinstate my automatic delivery. WE did not approve this.Desired Settlement: Remove and cease billing activity.
