Since the stone patio/deck was installed, the most southeast column is separating from the main body of the structure. Owner refuses to talk about it.
Since installation of a raised patio on the rear of our home in July of 2017, the most southeast corner is separating from the main body of the structure. The separation is visibly obvious but the business owner refuses to accept that the problem exists despite my approaching him 3 times. The installers failed to interlock the stones from the leaning column with those of the main structure. ***, the owner says that he looked at it and sees no problem. I was not with him when he allegedly looked at it. Today, he refuses to commit to reviewing the problem claiming he is too busy. His business is less than a 5 minute drive from my home.

Desired Outcome

Fix the problem. The original installation crew seemed to be conscientious and I would be happy if they were allowed to fix it.

Mr. wall/patio was completed to his satisfaction almost a year ago. When the job was completed, he was happy with the job and approved of it. About a month ago, Mr. came to our shop on a Saturday and complained about his wall. I went over to his home that same afternoon to look at the job. After careful and deliberate inspection, I did not find anything wrong with the wall. I did not see Mr. at his home that day but his dog was barking from inside the house so he had to have known I was there. When we installed the wall we purposely left it off of his house about 3/8 of an inch so that it would not rub the house and cause damage to the home. What Mr. doesn't understand is the end pieces of the block are all three sided block and they have to be stacked on top of each other. This is the proper way to install it. Mr. came by the office again the next Saturday and had one of my employees call me from their personal phone while I was on vacation and he took their phone to speak to me. He was immediately rude and confrontational with me, and I explained to him I had already been by his home and inspected the job. He got ugly and very rude with me over the phone at that point. Each time I talked to him I explained how the job was done correctly and why there was a very slight space between the wall and his house. I called him the following Saturday when I was home from vacation and told him I could not get to his house to inspect the wall (inspect for a second time) as we were swamped with deliveries and customers coming in. At that time he got very angry, threatened me, and was extremely rude and I told him that threatening me would get him nowhere. He then said he would "do whatever it took to get me." I then informed him our conversation was through, as I had been over to his house to inspect the wall and it was correctly installed, there are no issues with the wall. He continued to threaten and harass me so I told him I was not going to come back over to his house and our interactions were done. This work was completed almost a year ago, it was installed properly, and the wall has not moved since we installed it. If Mr. had an issue with the wall when we installed it, we would have happily changed anything he wanted us to, however, he approved the finished wall and the wall has not changed since that date.

My thanks to the Revdex.com for being there as a resource to resolve this issue. Yes, when the wall was initially completed it was fine. The point is that it did not last. I will send *** pictures showing exactly where and how much the Southeast column is leaning. The leaning and separation of this column occurred over the past 9 months due to the lack of a firm level base and failure to interlock it to the rest of the wall. Again, the defect is obvious. Regarding ***'s
version of our last phone call, I called him to ask what time he would be coming over that day, as he had promised he would. He said he could not make it. When I asked when???, he would not give me an answer. I assured *** that I would not accept this and will do everything I can to require him to fix it. He mistakenly heard that as a threat, but I wanted him to understand that this issue is not "going away" and must be resolved. Is there a way to add the photos that I am sending to *** to this complaint file? Again, the defects are visually obvious. All I want is to have tat column reset.

Since my last update, I've had an estimate made from a very reliable landscaper. For $500, he will correct al irregularities on the patio/deck. I am offering to split the difference. I'm not optimistic, but if we get $250 from ***, we can call this complaint resolved.

By the way, when this landscaper showed up, I purposely did NOT tell him what needed fixing. He was able to detect it on his own, immediately.

Our warranty for constructions such as this extends for three months. Seeing as this job was completed over a year ago, it no longer falls under warranty and asking for payment is unreasonable. I would have happily fixed the supposed "issue" had there been one within the warranty time frame, but given the way this "issue" has been handled by the customer, I do not see any need to continue this discussion. I did not see an issue with the wall, however, if another landscaper thinks they did see an issue they are more than welcome to remedy the "issue" to the satisfaction of Mr.. I have been in business for over 30 years, and when my crew or myself makes an error, we are always happy to fix it. However, in this case, there was no issue and the request for me to pay for his "issue" to be fixed is denied.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
*** does not stand by his work. There was never any mention of the 3 month window for error correction before, during, or after the job. I failed to get a written agreement beforehand which is apparently a necessity with Poultry Villa. I will simply have to accept the "unresolved" status of ***'s failure to stand by his work and warn off family and friends about Poultry Villa. *** apparently believes it's worth the saving of $250.
