Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (2000, 9, 2016/03/28) */ The business had responded with a check of $towards my homeowners insurance deductibleYou can close the caseThank you for your time

I moved into *** *** *** in June of 2015, the day I moved in the AC was not working I had nothing but issues with the AC for several months after I moved in and the roof leaked several times Then in June of the AC started acting up again until it froze over and started leaking to where the ceiling fell in In April I approached *** Properties about getting out of my lease and they said it would be times one months rent That was nowhere in my lease and no where listed on the Texas Apartment Associations website I set up an appointment on July with Katie to advise her that the was not listed on my lease and both her and Fabiola agreed I only had to pay what was listed in my lease which was $as long as I was out by July On that day the AC was frozen over and days later my ceiling fell in because it still was not fixed correctly I was out by July and on August they took out August rent as an Auto draw from my back without me knowing it and still deposited my last check not until August Now I am fighting to get my August rent back because they are changing their story on what I should have paid to get out of my lease a month later This is fraud since we all agreed to what I would pay to get out of my rent on July Read the reviews before you lease at *** Properties They will take your money and run! They have taken over 2K in my money which includes my August rent and my deposits that I am due back This company is nothing but liars and cheats!

Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 9, 2016/03/28) */
The business had responded with a check of $250.00 towards my homeowners insurance deductible. You can close the case. Thank you for your time.

I really loved my apartment when I signed my lease in November 2015. By October of 2016, I couldn't wait to get out of the apartment. The price was great for the location but after looking at the long list of issues I had, the apartment was not at all worth the money I was throwing into it. If you take the time to look through my list of issues, a lot of them can be attributed to the age of the complex [redacted] on [redacted] However, many of them are lack of effort by the management staff, poor maintenance and the revolving door that is the "manager" position. Two left within the 12 months I lived there. Thank god for [redacted] in the time she was there - she was so good to me (even came back to my defense when I was charged for move out!)

Along the list, I had 2 foundational type floods into my bedroom, in which the carpet was not replaced (only steam cleaned the first time and then SOME padding replaced the second). My upstairs neighbor super sucked. I'm talking parties on a Tuesday at 2AM, despite my pleading to him to go somewhere else and an apparent effort by management to "warn him". This genius flooded my bedroom TWICE because he left his sink on while under the influence of who knows what. As a result, nothing was done to my carpet or walls by management that had damage due to the flood. The same upstairs neighbor smoked cigarettes like crazy on his balcony, in his apartment and right above my front door despite those threatening emails and signs from the management! (ha!) Yes, that smell traveled through my vents. Lovely. My bathtub had sewage backup into it (gross...) three times. Later, it was found that there was a break in the pipe line...but I'm not sure why this took three times of other people's [redacted] coming up my bathtub drain three times. Yes, three times. Finally, [redacted] (bless her) worked with me to get out of my lease 6 months early. There was also constant new cracks in the walls and doors not shutting or opening correctly due to the foundation shifting. But I do recognize this is just part of being in Texas and in an older place.

The best part is that the office tried to charge me $400 for carpet replacement, an extra tub clean $30 (which their team was the last to clean as I refused with the sewage) and a fridge clean $30 (after they replaced my broken fridge with a brand new unused one after I was already moving out. And I only fought this with the email evidence I had because of course they "lost all my maintenance requests" and when I logged into resident portal it was wiped clean.

There are better places out there if you're looking for location! Seriously, if you're paying $1034 a month for this minimum, why aren't they putting money into fixing these issues?!
