I am rejecting this response because: While the key to the home is held by our management company, only the Powerful Pest employee checked it out, used it and returned it He was the only person in our home before our guests arrived who discovered the flood and the feces It is also Powerful Pest policy to report floods and to show up for work But this employee did neither and was subsequently fired The handle at the sink was leaking because it was loose It was loose because someone twisted it hard enough to loosen it It was not faulty equipment It was new And it was NOT LEAKING when I left the home earlier How do I know? Because I checked everything since we had sustained a flood the previous year when the ice maker broke So I am religious about turning off the water main and making sure nothing is leaking before we leave Someone deliberately and forcefully turned the faucet to loosen it and cause a leak And someone used our toilet and did not flush And only the Powerful Pest employee was in our home after our management company checked and cleaned the home and set the alarm after my departure When I told powerful pest I was firing them, the cost and responsibility for the flood was still being figured out But I knew I never wanted any of their employees in my home again The $cost is below my insurance deductible, so of course I am not going to file a claim, but I did notify insurance of the damages While I am sorry that the Owner's mother needed to be relocated, she used that as an excuse not to talk or respond to me for almost months I had to pay the contractor that fixed the damage That is what honorable people do They take responsibility for their actions I called him to repair damage It was my responsibility to pay for his services in a timely fashion. And no, I ultimately did not pay PP for service visits not rendered because I figured it out and refused to pay It took many phone calls to Lori Prater to rectify that situation and their office was less than responsive to my concerns They were very dismissive at times This is all a pattern of behavior with this business Not doing good work or not doing the work at all and charging for it This time they cost me money as a result of their unprofessional team I do not see any reason to accept their response to my complaint If I had years of excellent service, and one mistake occurred, well, mistakes happen Unfortunately, this was my first ever engagement with a monthly pest control service and I chose the wrong one I had separate issues within a year and a half of them working on my home Lori Prater even admits to the other three in her response and justifies them by saying I ultimately did not have to pay for services not performed But this 4th issue? No, that could not have been their fault, even if their employee was the ONLY PERSON WHO CAME INTO THE HOME.Not sure what else I can say[redacted]

Dear Sirs: Powerful Pest Management has read the complaint that Mr*** *** filed with your bureauAfter careful consideration of *** *** complaint to our company, it was decided that Powerful Pest was in dispute of his accusations for the following reasons. *** *** states that he was billed for services not renderedThis is not accurate informationOur records indicate that there were a couple of times his service was missed and his account was credited because of that*** *** did not pay for services not rendered. The home at *** *** *** *** is managed by a leasing company; the key for this home is available to others, not for exclusive use by our company. *** *** called to cancel service on 10/13/reporting an incident that happened a month priorI spoke with *** *** myself and explained that our company policy is to use public restroomsWhile I did apologize that this happened to him, I did not accept or agree that our employee was responsibleIt was stated that the employee was no longer with us, however I did explain to *** *** that it was for unrelated issues (attendance), prior to his phone call to me on 10/13/At no time during our conversation did *** *** state that he wanted us to pay for any damagesHe stated that he was firing us and his maid as he thought she was responsible as well*** *** never told me that he wanted reimbursementHe called his leasing company and told themPowerful Pest Management was informed a week later by the leasing company that he was seeking damages and that he stated that he refused to use his insurance for repairs; thereafter *** *** did call our office demanding that we pay for the damage in the amount of $1,(after he had already contracted and paid for someone to fix it)See invoice includedI explained to him that the owner was out of state relocating her elderly mother and that I would speak with her regarding the incident, which I did

Dear *** ***, Powerful Pest Management is a small, responsible company. We do not run from obligations and do acknowledge when a mistake is made. However in this situation, please find our letter of opposition regarding the flood at *** *** home. As you will see
from the general contractor’s invoice, which I have included for your reference. The contractor states “Price to remediate water damage at Master Bedroom and Closet caused by supply hose under sink leaking, due to loose handle.” Please review our letter and the invoice attached. I also included the letter received by you for reference. Powerful Pest Management is not responsible for *** *** flood/water damage. Thank you in advance for your help. Please let me know if you need anything else Best Regards, *** *** Powerful Pest Management ***

I had numerous issues with this company charging me for service that was never performed They billed me for visits when they did not come And I also paid for full service and they did not perform as contracted I had put them on notice that I was not pleased with their service
In September 2016, one of their pest control personnel came to our home while we were away He turned off the alarm He made a bowel movement in our toilet and did NOT flush He did not reset the alarm when he left but did return the key to our property management office When our guests arrived later, they found our master bedroom and bathroom flooded I paid $1,to a contractor to remediate the damages While I cannot prove it was their employee who sabotaged our home, it is pretty obvious he did The manager, *** ***, told me this employee was fired for cause soon after this incident I asked to speak with the Owner, *** ***, but she refused to speak I asked them

I am rejecting this response because: While the key to the home is held by our management company, only the Powerful Pest employee checked it out, used it and returned it.  He was the only person in our home before our guests arrived who discovered the flood and the feces.   It is also Powerful Pest policy to report floods and to show up for work.   But this employee did neither and was subsequently fired.   The handle at the sink was leaking because it was loose.   It was loose because someone twisted it hard enough to loosen it.   It was not faulty equipment.  It was new.  And it was NOT LEAKING when I left the home earlier.  How do I know?   Because I checked everything since we had sustained a flood the previous year when the ice maker broke.   So I am religious about turning off the water main and making sure nothing is leaking before we leave.   Someone deliberately and forcefully turned the faucet to loosen it and cause a leak.   And someone used our toilet and did not flush.   And only the Powerful Pest employee was in our home after our management company checked and cleaned the home and set the alarm after my departure.   When I told powerful pest I was firing them, the cost and responsibility for the flood was still being figured out.   But I knew I never wanted any of their employees in my home again.   The $1000 cost is below my insurance deductible, so of course I am not going to file a claim, but I did notify insurance of the damages.   While I am sorry that the Owner's mother needed to be relocated, she used that as an excuse not to talk or respond to me for almost 2 months.   I had to pay the contractor that fixed the damage.   That is what honorable people do.   They take responsibility for their actions.   I called him to repair damage.   It was my responsibility to pay for his services in a timely fashion. And no, I ultimately did not pay PP for service visits not rendered because I figured it out and refused to pay.   It took many phone calls to Lori Prater to rectify that situation and their office was less than responsive to my concerns.    They were very dismissive at times.    This is all a pattern of behavior with this business.  Not doing good work or not doing the work at all and charging for it.   This time they cost me money as a result of their unprofessional team.   I do not see any reason to accept their response to my complaint.   If I had years of excellent service, and one mistake occurred, well, mistakes happen.    Unfortunately, this was my first ever engagement with a monthly pest control service and I chose the wrong one.   I had 4 separate issues within a year and a half of them working on my home.   Lori Prater even admits to the other three in her response and justifies them by saying I ultimately did not have to pay for services not performed.   But this 4th issue?   No, that could not have been their fault, even if their employee was the ONLY PERSON WHO CAME INTO THE HOME.Not sure what else I can say.[redacted]
