Beware. This man is a thief. Mr. Eddie Fredwicks stole my 21’ boat, trailer and $3,000 deposit on June 9, 2020, with a guarantee to return the boat by July 4, 2020 in complete ‘water ready’ condition - that was 20 months ago. As of February 2022, Eddie Fredricks (King) refuses to disclose the location of my boat. This has been reported to FL State Attorney and Better Business Bureau.

Not only did he NOT deliver my boat in July 2020, it’s now been over 14 months (2 complete boating seasons). He keeps saying it will be ready next week, but next week turns into weeks, months and years. Eddie has refused to return my boat, my trailer and/or my $3,000 for over 14 months. He moved the boat from his Dade City location (without my permission or approval) and keeps saying the boat is at his buddies place in Tampa, but refuses to provide the address or return the boat. I have made no less than 25 demands that he return my property, but he refuses to do so.

Just unbelievable he can continue operating a business!

The scope of work continued to be altered and increased resulting in added monies. All due monies were paid and yet the boat not fixed.
Selected this company to rebuild powerhead transmission on a 35ft Pro Line yacht. Met with the owner Eddie and spoke about the service to be received in exchange of the agreed upon amount of monies. Original estimated date of completion was to be 30 days and was not met. New date of completion was to be in November and was also not met. The scope of work continued to be altered and increased resulting in added monies. All due monies were paid and yet the boat was never fixed in its entirety. Eddie continued delaying the date of completion and also failed to re-assemble the promised engine/transmission. While my boat (property) was in his shop, my $100+ ice cooler went missing and he did not replace it. In addition, my boat was exposed to the rain and elements although he promised it would be in the covered garage/shop.

Desired Outcome

I would like to receive monies back for the portion of the job not performed as well as compensation for my missing ice chest "cooler" which went missing on the possession of the owner Mr. Eddie.

Our customer paid a powerhead core fee that was to be refunded once old core was delivered. Core was delivered August 2019 and no response.
On July 24, 2019 our boat repair business paid Powerhead Express $3090, including a $995 core fee that was deducted from our business account, July 24, 2019 with the agreement once the old core was delivered, we would receive a $995 core refund for the customer. The core was delivered to Powerhead Express, August 2019.

We attempted to communicate several time through phone calls, emails and letters (attached), with Mr. F., owner of Powerhead Express, inquiring about the core refund. First he responded September 4, saying the core was at a machine shop, "a sleeve was twisted". This was a running core, the reason for the replacement powerhead was for a rod ticking in the motor, not an issue with a twisted sleeve. My husband, ***, called every outboard machine shop in Tampa, FL, including a shop that informed us they do work for Powerhead Express, United Speed World, but was not equipped to do blocks. All shops informed us they did not work on this particular core.

Desired Outcome

We need the core fee of $995 paid to us so we can refund the customer, who paid in good faith.

Mr. F. called us 12/11/19 to inform us, "His wife died last week, he has been out of town, and will be back next week, we are getting a refund of $655." He admitted to me the powerhead core has been rebuilt and sold and is currently being used, while our customer is still waiting for his refund. We will keep you informed when we get the refund.

The owner of the business keeps saying he will send a check but has not done so. We have been waiting on him since July.

Poor work, constantly need warranty work that takes a very long time.
I spent just under $10,000 at this shop. Had both motors rebuilt and replaced motor mounts. Eddy charged me for the motor mount replacement and once he couldn't do the job, he had a machine shop do the job and told me to bring an additional 100$ to cover that job when he had already charged me $400 per motor to remove and install mounts, this was done while the powerheads where being rebuilt so they were already off. One motor has blown twice, the other one has blown once. My boat was in and out of the shop under warranty for 14 months. Eddy's warranty work takes 2+ months. After the last rebuilt motor, the one that still runs, I had to pay an additional $1,000 to powersource for them to fix what Eddy's shop did wrong when installing the throttle cable, fix the timing, and replaced a trigger. That motor still runs, but I'm still out one motor because I finally took it back after it sitting at Eddy's for 8 weeks. Boat was left in the open for anyone to take.Too many "warranty" jobs where needed from this establishment that took way too long. Every time I would call he would come up with an excuse, either the wrong part was ordered or he didn't like the part he ordered, not sure what that means but that was said. Eddy eventually got tired of me calling and said "You're a ***, stupid and that people on the water look at you like an it". This was said because I took my boat out on one motor because his "warranty" work was taking way too long. Eddy is professional while taking your money but as soon as warranty comes around he becomes nasty if you ask about your boat status. Very unprofessional establishment. I have taken my business elsewhere.

Desired Outcome

Money for the time I've been making boat payments, boat insurance, BoatUS service fee, and time not on the ocean catching fish and most of all, money for one boat motor.

I spoke to the consumer yesterday and he is agreeing to bring the boat back for repairs. All is being resolved.

Back in 08/23/2019 Eddy agreed to fix the boat under warranty. It has been over 4 weeks now and no work has been done on the boat. Total time of the boat is now 12 weeks. 8 weeks before I took it back and 4 weeks now after the last agreement. No priority is given to the agreement. I want the boat repaired to include being water tested and back to me within the next 3 weeks.

Eddie called last week & advised me the boat was being water tested. I thought he would have called by now to say repairs are completed and to pick up the boat but I have not heard anything further from him.

Have received the motor back and so far so good & running fine.

Great work. Fair price, Excellent service. Knowledgeable. Great service. Honest.

What more can you say. I highly recommend

I found them to be very knowledgeable in doing power heads. The communication was great. He actually picked up my motor and saved me time and money. The power head was done in a timely manner. It looks new and runs like new . 2 year warranty! It's better than new
And I couldn't be happier. If you want it done right , call Eddied at power head express.

I had a great experience at Powerhead Express. None of the dealers knew what was wrong with my motor but Edward @ Powerhead Express once he ran the motor, he knew exactly what was wrong and fixed it within 3 days. Also the extraordinary works he does is not reflected in the pricing he charges. Made me feel secure that everything was done right because he gave me 2 years warranty whereas the big dealers only give 6 months to a year. I can not be more happy and pleased with Powerhead Express. I highly recommend it because they are very honest..
