Powersmith

Review: Powersmith did an air sealing and insulation project in my home on December **, 2015. The contract originally called for a 128 sq. ft. service platform to be built in the attic at a cost of $1400. On the day of the project, the crew leader recommended a service platform half that size, 64 sq. ft., saying the original proposal was not required to service the air handler in the attic. I gave him the approval to make the modification as long as I would be reimbursed $700, half the original cost. He agreed, and went ahead and told me he would notify his boss of the change. In addition, I was supposed to receive a 10% promotional rebate from Powersmith of $867 after they were paid by Energy Finance Solutions. My project was financed through Energy Finance Solutions in conjunction with NYSERDA - this is a state sponsored energy program in conjunction with PSEG and National Grid. Last month, EFS forwarded me my contact information regarding the company that was now holding my loan and notified me that Powersmith was paid in full. Consequently, I decided to call Powersmith last week to get an idea when I could expect payment for my rebate and refund. Unfortunately, I was not able to speak to anyone directly. Instead, my call was routed to a company called, LI Green Homes/Master Mechanical. I spoke to a secretary who informed me that Powersmith was no longer in business and had ceased operations. However, she did ask me to email all my information regarding my situation and assured me that it would be forwarded to someone at Powersmith. I tried following up several days later but the secretaries at LI Green Homes/Master Mechanical have told me they are not handling any monetary issues with Powersmith, only work related ones. I have not been contacted by anyone from Powersmith since then and felt that my only recourse was to file this complaint. In addition, I emailed the crew leader and the sales representative who handled my project. The sales representative has not returned my email or message I left on his voicemail. The crew leader confirmed what I had already been told but provided me with no advice other than to try calling the company. I have documents supporting everything I stated above if they are required. I look forward to this situation being handled properly as soon as possible. Thank you.Desired Settlement: Refund

We received an email from our financing company on February * alerting us to [redacted] concerns regarding his rebate and change order payment. We received his full payment on February * which triggers the payment of his rebate. A check for $1,567 was sent in the mail on February *, 2016 to pay for the change order and rebate.I feel like we have acted expediently and within the scope of our understanding of the contract.
