Review: I have multiple complaints about this business.

1. Failing to honor an advertised price. (Bait and Switch)

The company has posted many ads to Craigslist.com advertising the unlocking services for ALL Samsung Galaxy model phones for $15. I called the store to verify, and told them it was a model from AT&T. They told me that they would do it for $15 over the phone. When I got to the store,I told them it was an AT&T model again and they said they would do it for $15. When I gave them the phone, they removed the battery and told me it was going to be $40 because of the model. ( I had already stated the model twice, and their ad said ALL Samsung models. I reluctantly agreed to pay $30. I paid cash on the spot, and they gave me a carbon receipt, which I signed. They gave me a yellow copy.

2.The repairs were inferior and resulted in additional issues.

When I returned to the store to pick up my newly unlocked device, the store associate had me use the internet and make a call after giving me my device back. I verified that those features were working and left. The issues didn't come up until I got home. I went to check for an update and received an error message about an invalid sim. I then went to use the WiFi tethering feature, and that too had the same issue. The store was closed, so I decided to call the next day. I called the next day and told them the issue, and they requested I come back so they can fix it. I returned to the store, and told them I had spoken to them on the phone about the issue. They asked to see my phone, and then proceeded to tell me that they did not cause this issue. I informed them that I had researched the issue and that it is caused by the unlocking process when no unlock code is used. (Manually Unlocking). They adamantly denied re-programming the phone at all. (Even putting in the unlock code causes the reprogramming.)

3. The non-delivery of products.

I paid for an unlock code, but was never given it. When I asked for it, they told me they had purged their email and it was gone. (This is something I paid for.) ( What happens if their unlock reverts and I need to unlock again?)

4. Customer Service failed to provide assistance

They were unwilling to fix the issue, or issue me a refund.

I brought an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 into PowerTech Wireless to get it unlocked for use with another mobile carrier. They had an advertised price of $15 for ALL Samsung phone models. Prior to coming in, I called to verify that the price was correct for my model. When I got into the store, I re-verified. After giving them my handset, they opened the back and said they would need to do a special unlock and order the code from Samsung. I reluctantly agreed to pay $30 for the service. After the service was completed, I picked up my phone and verified that both calls and web were working. After getting home, I went to update my phones operating system only to receive an error message stating that my sim card was invalid. I also attempted to use the WiFi hotspot tehering feature to the same result. I contacted the store the next day to explain the situation. They asked me to come in so they can fix it. When I get to the store, the said this wasn't caused by them. They told me alot of different things, but since I have experience in the mobile phone industry, I explained they were incorrect. I asked about their flashing methods, and the owner said he had a flashing machine. I then said that they told me they ordered a code for me, then he said he did that and didn't use the machine (He also said he gave me the code, which an employee reminded him he didn't) (merchants provide the code to customers in case the unlock reverts). They refused to give me a refund or fix the issue. I told them if I wanted to be stuck with issues I could have unlocked it myself. I told them of my intentions to file complaints, and told them to just fix the situation to avoid losing any business or money. The owner said he doesn't care if it's $.01 or 1million dollars. Today, I attempted to reach out to the store to request the unlock code I paid for since they never gave it to me (in case I need to unlock it again for some reason). They told me that they purged their email system and didn't have it anymore. They offered a refund of the flashing price, but immediately called me back and told me the store manager said he wouldn't do it.

I feel the merchant should replace my handset with a fully unlocked and functional Samsung Galaxy S4, as this would have been the result of the services I originally paid for I will relinquish my current handset to the merchant as a result of this resolution. I am not confident in this merchant's ability to service Samsung Galaxy devices and would not allow him to try to fix the issue. I also believe that if I do allow the merchant to perform the services to fix my issues, they may either; cause other features to malfunction, install malicious software that could harm the device in the future, or extract personal information to use against me.

I have records of the calls and texts between us, and copies of one of the ads they posted (the one I replied to) and can provide them upon request.Desired Settlement: I feel the merchant should replace my handset with a fully unlocked and functional Samsung Galaxy S4, as this would have been the result of the services I originally paid for. Review: I brought my iphone4 in good operable condition to Powertech Wireless at 6191 University Ave. to have them replace the cracked screen.I demonstrated for the technician after unlocking the iphone that the operating system was working perfectly. When I received the iphone4 back in less than a ten minute time frame the phone was not working and that the motherboard would have to be replaced, along with a now inoperable LCD light. Monday morning I was able to get an associate of mine to discuss, in detail, these issues with the owner and the owner in their phone conversation (which was placed on speaker phone for me to listen along with my associate) said that he had been a manager at Apple and that he knew what he was doing and in no way was he responsible for returning the phone in non-working order that the mother board had broken thru no fault of their mishandling the repair, along with the now inoperable LCD light. I felt that this was close to an impossibilty and after much discussion the owner told my associate that the absolute best he could do was to repair and replace the motherbhoard (with a use one) and the the LCD screen for $130.00. I felt this to be an absorbenent amount given that Apple would replace the same phone for $150.00. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter. Best regards,[redacted]Desired Settlement: Asking to pay for the damage they had make
